A Better kind of Rare

"5th Circle: Fanatic Fury." He cast the spell and the whole floor burst from the impact of his attack and the one he was defending himself from. "You're so cocky, I will beat that out of you before the trial." His opponent sneered but that wouldn't deter him, he needed to show him and everyone else he wasn't a pushover, weapons appeared in his palms made of his dark aura, he lunged for the boy in front of him, the first blow was accurate and rattled his opponent.

The second blow his opponent dodged by sidestepping him and jumping into a void and appearing from the same void behind him, he realized his opponent had an affinity of void magic and magnifying it. "Incubus Allure." He mumbled as thick red smoke cascaded out of his mouth, it pooled all around him and his opponent, then he began to draw mana from him. "What is this?!" The enemy yelled as he was paralyzed and his mana was being sucked dry. "It's my own creation, it draws mana from any living thing in the vicinity of where it touches." He explained to his opponent who now felt like stone.

"Fuck this." His opponent cursed and began feeding off from the smoke, at first it felt like drops of his power were coming back until the drops turned to a trickle. "Clever strategy, but you won't regain enough in time." He taunted his enemy just before he leaped into the air. "1st circle: Explosive Karamba." From his mouth a spiral of flames were released, they hit his opponent head on along with it the whole floor exploded as well, the doors and windows burst due to the heat and pressure.

When the flames subsided he saw the boy who had challenged him staggering to his feet, his skin was still healing and a large amount of mana was bubbling inside him. "No more games bitch!" The boy yelled as two raven wings sprouted from his back, they seemed stronger though, and fast. He chuckled deeply knowing all this while he was holding back. "Before I clip your pretty black wings off your back, mind telling me your name?" He asked the raven winged, enemy.

"Alfin Sevroy." He replied, with the given name he saw fit to give his opponent his own name. "I'm Taylor VenusShadows." He asserted with a smirk, the fear registered on Alfin's face for a split second before he became hardened with resolve and lunged for Taylor, he flew straight for him and hurled black matter toward him, but it was quickly absorbed by just a touch and that made Alfin angry, there was something about Taylor he was missing.

They began hand to hand combat, one looking to overpower the other, as time passed both of them became faster, stronger, and relentless, Taylor saw no need to hold back, from the fast speed he was using he spun back and attacked Alfin again but this time Alfin didn't see him even move, he was moving faster than sound as he hit Alfin blow after blow, with a swift uppercut Alfin burst through the roof of the incubus dorm, Taylor followed him in a burst of speed, the night sky was twinkling with stars as he delivered a kick to Alfin's head which sent back into the incubus dorm building.

The crash caused several explosions inside the dorm when the debris cleared Alfin was struggling to stand. "You're strong, I will give you that." Taylor admitted as Alfin lunged for him with a speed that matched his own, a punch landed on Taylor, it caused an explosion him and threw him to the wall which shattered. "No I'm persistent." Alfin corrected as he hurled a sphere of blinding white light toward Taylor, a shield appeared and engulfed Taylor as the explosion destroyed the upper part of the building.

When it all settled Alfin was looking around for Taylor until the incubus tapped him on the shoulder. "I'm right. HERE." Taylor kicked the boy's head, it sent him hurtling through the broken window and onto the golden barrier protecting everyone outside of their fight, Alfin caught himself by barely flapping his wings, they had extensive damage. "3rd Circle: Dark lightning lance." Taylor shot the lightning arrows toward Alfin, two were dodged the other two lodged themselves into the boy's shoulder and leg then exploded.

Alfin screamed out in pain but he endured it, as his eyes turned pitch black. "Lusters Bolt." He commanded as the sky lit up with lightning but no thunder, he channeled it into his palms and once it was charged enough he hurled it toward Taylor. "Scream scream Taylor." Alfin taunted as Taylor screamed in endless agony, he felt his whole being ripped apart, that soundless lightning was more dangerous than he thought.

Taylor slumped to the floor of what was left of the top floor of the incubus building, he coughed out blood, his breathing labored, he didn't want to do it, Hayes would kill him but there wasn't a choice, his eyes turned pitch black as well with singular dots of red in them. "I will kill you." Taylor hissed with a feral growl and lunged for Alfin but the incubus was ready, flames exploded from his hands and hit Taylor head on, he expected them to deter him but Taylor looked as if the fire was actually hugging him instead.

"Only fire from another demon can hurt me in this state." He exclaimed as he spun around and punched Alfin straight in the jaw, a sickening crack resounded but Taylor wanted to hurt him more, so he waved his hand and drew Alfin back, he began his assault on him never giving him a chance to defend. "7th Circle: Lucifer's Prison." Black chains appeared and wrapped themselves around Alfin, more sprouted, and created a cage around him whilst he was chained on the floor. "What are you, Connor had a rarity but not like this." Alfin rasped out and Taylor burst out in dark laughter.

"The traitor, don't mention his name, and just so you know I'm a better kind of rare, 1st Circle: Vortex, 3rd Circle Dark Decay, 7th Circle: Combusted Assault." The circles appeared and merged, Taylor hovered off the ground and let loose the power he had summoned, it would erase the incubus from existence if he didn't shield himself then everything froze, Taylor and Alfin were aware of everything but their bodies, the attack, everything in the golden barrier that had been protected was frozen in time.

"One night!" Hayes yelled with ferocity that shook the entire building, Taylor knew he was going to be mad and now Hayes had come, he was beyond mad, Alfin and Taylor didn't see him at first but large black wings obscured the night sky, both boys gasped at their sheer size, they also had golden markings that glowed in the dark, Hayes flew lower and lower until he landed with someone in his arms. "Thank you, babe." Taylor knew that voice, if Hayes mate was also here then he was in more trouble, he was the one who had frozen them.

"Extensive damage to property, recklessly destroying your home in a none supervised battle, endangering the school property. Taylor!" Hayes screamed and this caused Taylor to shrink even more because an angry overprotective demon is not one to mess with. "Taylor you have a lot of explaining to do." Ben's voice washed over him, even when the witch was mad he always seemed so warm. "Rah's Stars." Ben mumbled and dozens of spheres of lights appeared all around the building and sky, it was a beautiful sight for all who saw.

Hayes flicked his fingers and the prison on Alfin vanished along with the circle Taylor had made, his demonic form also vanished leaving him looking a little bit normal, he was the true king after all, and demon magic was his to wield. "I just don't know what to do with you right now." Hayes exclaimed as he looked at the frozen figure of Taylor. "Sugarplum would you please." Hayes asked lovingly making Taylor feel a pang of guilt, Ben wasn't supposed to be out of his dimension and now he was here because he couldn't keep away from a fight.

The witch came to Taylor, he laid a palm on his frozen body and siphon, the tingling sensation made Taylor want Ben to siphon more but it wasn't the time for that. "7th Circle: Redeeming Build." Ben moved to Hayes's side and waved his hand making Taylor and Alfin move from the ground with him, as they moved further up Taylor marveled at the sight of the building below, everything was back in place, all the damage they had caused, all of it was fixed. A golden light flashed once as the building was completely fixed, the barrier around it vanished but Taylor knew it was there waiting to protect.

Hayes flicked his fingers, Taylor and Alfin were released along with everything else from the time freeze. "I'm sorry, it's my fault I should've walked away." Taylor immediately spoke but Ben looked at him once and he immediately shut up. "I know both of you were responsible not just you Taylor, as punishment, Alfin you're not participating in any of the games at the Halls Tournament this year same goes for you, Taylor." Hayes announced and Alfin wanted to cry, he always looked forward to the tournament.

"But dad, please you can't do this, I will do anything." Taylor begged Ben as he knew Hayes wouldn't hear of it. "Wait, dad?" Alfin questioned but Taylor waved him off. "Okay fine, you can enter the tournament if you prove to me that both of you can work together as leaders for your dorm, also your school work should be perfect, you're also coming to the neo realm after school to train, if you don't complete any of this you're not entering." Ben asserted as Hayes rubbed his back.

"Thank you, Sir Hayes, thank you, Sir Ben." Alfin replied as he flew back down, he was surprised to see all his injuries gone, but his attention was held by the new kid Taylor, he had called Sir Ben dad, who exactly was he, Alfin needed answers but most of all he needed rest, so he flew back down and to his dorm room.

"Taylor you're grounded." Hayes exclaimed after Alfin was gone. "But papa Hayes—." He tried to argue but Hayes raised his hand. "Taylor I promised your mom I would take care of you, and that means really taking care of you, this was reckless and irresponsible, what if you got hurt or you lost control again and killed Alfin, I know you didn't want this to go that far but I brought you here knowing you would be safe, sweetheart you're my favorite nephew, and one of only three special demonic hybrids in the world, you can be free with your power but you also need control, now come on we're going home." Hayes expressed and Taylor moved to hug both him and Ben.

"I'm sorry papa Hayes, I'm sorry dad." He mumbled as he clung onto them, Hayes had been the father he never had since his actual father abandoned him and his mother, Hayes sister, he grew up calling him papa and it stuck, when Hayes said he wanted him at Halwright because it was safe now his mother was skeptical at first but then papa Hayes brought Benjamin his mate to convince her which took less than a minute, and now he was at Halwright, ready to take on the world and be the best, if only he hadn't fought with Alfin and fucked things up the first day of school, now he was grounded and that meant a lot when it came to his father.

They arrived in the neo realm, his father's house precisely and inwardly cringed when uncle Kyra stood up with narrowed eyes toward him, he was in so much trouble, with so many overprotective father figures. "If I were you pumpkin I'd run up to your uncle Robin and make myself scarce." Ben whispered to him with a wink and he didn't wait to be told twice.

Taylor and Robin vanished the moment he was in arm's length of the vampire, making Hayes shake his head at their antics. "That little shit." Kyra cursed and turned back to the couch and began to watch whatever show he was watching with his mate.

"What will I do with him sugar plum." Hayes questioned as he sat at the breakfast bar and his mate heated their dinner. "You will punish him like any other normal parent and then love him as well, this is Halwright, it should've happened sooner anyway, just give him time to adjust, he'll be fine." Ben soothed his mate as they began to eat, it was a tough burden but together they could do it, after all, they had a child on the way.

"I hope you're right." Hayes mumbled his reply and his chuckled. "I'm never wrong, unless it comes to Robin and Paige betting." Ben replied with a chuckle enjoying his dinner, Halwright better lookout for the new incubus supreme.
