Control: HALWRIGHT.
Devin stood still as magic burned all around him, blue giants and sand monsters had fought, armies and explosions rocked the entirety of the chosen battlefield, he knew this was a battle he couldn't easily win, but his name wasn't derived from just anything.
"Camilla, you have guts challenging me." Devin taunted the girl in front of him as she wasn't tangible floating in the air. "It's not guts Devin, it's pure strength, the power to be able to put you down." She responded making Devin snicker.
"Funny, you're really funny dear." The two faction leaders of different schools became silent as magic and power manifested around them, Devin rose from the ground as his body changed.
An axe made from the shadow element appeared around him, it was a beautiful black axe with a sharpened edge, his clothes changed to armor and his eyes turned completely white, Camilla knew this was Devin's first ghost form and it enraged her.
"I want all your power, Devin!" She yelled as her own armor appeared covering her, a long double edged blade appeared in her hand as she descended to stand in attack stance. "Are you worthy of it?" Devin asked as he now stood menacingly in front of Camilla.
Camilla steadied herself and attacked, she slashed at Devin hoping to injure his materialized form, but Devin remained intangible, left, right and a spin she tried to cut down the one supposed to be future king but it wasn't working.
She knew she had to find a way to make Devin tangible. "Light Mayhem." She opened her palms to release light so bright it would blind anyone, Devin closed his eyes and the attack passed through him.
He was amused by Camilla's efforts but it took more, to get him to fight. "Fight me, coward!" The girl screamed as yet again Devin dodged her attack easily and without a care as if he were bored.
Devin pointed above her to reveal a sphere of shadows about to release a powerful attack, he smirked looking at Camilla's bewildered expression, before she moved, the sphere detonated, the blast made Camilla scream, she had been forced to be tangible and it hurt her even more.
When the attack dissipated, Camilla staggered to her feet, she began healing her body and looked at Devin with rage. "Too much rage in you, that's why I can easily fight and win this battle." Devin spoke calmly looking at Camilla who was still fuming.
"Dark wave!" She screamed as dark matter came from her and attacked Devin, the attack hurt his ghost form but wasn't able to deliver pain to him all that much, he healed rapidly and smiled toward Camilla.
"Dark Wave: Serpents Hail." The dark matter rolled down Devin's body like snakes, it pooled under him and split up as giant snakes were created, they attacked Camilla in her ghost form, slamming her into the ground repeatedly, then moved to thrash her like a ragged doll.
The snakes wrapped around her and with one swift move slammed her to the ground and exploded, the girl lay on the ground in her tangible form, blood seeping from wounds and cuts as well as broken bones.
Camilla knew she would have to attack using her strongest attacks to stand a chance against Devin, so she stood up as she healed slowly. "Dark Increment." The dark matter didn't move from her but into her, she knew the chaos of darkness would consume her auxis at a faster rate but she had no choice.
Devin smirked looking at the girl. "Idiotic to the bitter end." He exclaimed changing his stance to attack form, Camilla moved at the speed of sound to deliver a punch to Devin's abdomen, the ghost ground his teeth in pain but did not move.
Dark matter gathered in his fist and he slammed it onto Camilla's face, both their weapons were gone as they were in close combat, each blow reverberated around the area only leaving the trace of what had happened.
Camilla leaped into the air and spun around to kick Devin's head, the ghost blocked her attack and countered with a blast of pure light. Camilla staggered to her feet to face Devin, before she could stand upright her head was crashed onto Devin's knee.
She was still disoriented as Devin punched her several times over. "Electric Wall." Camilla muttered as she used the wall to keep Devin out and to heal. "And you think you're worthy of my power." Devin ridiculed.
"I am!" Camilla Tribune yelled as her electric wall turned purple but Devin was not surprised as he only spun back to avoid the oncoming attack. "Dodge this bitch." Camilla turned the wall into a single bolt of lightning, she released the lightning and it detonated the moment it was to pass through Devin.
Devin screamed as he felt his power and armor along with his body being ripped apart by the lightning, his screams of pain resounded all around as Camilla smiled triumphantly at the ghost slumped onto the ground, his body tangible and fluctuating as he was injured.
Camilla took this as her chance and leaped into action, she lunged for Devin and plunged her blade to his back, blasting him again, he rolled on the ground with the blade causing more injury, Camilla walked toward him with a sneer and kicked him repeatedly.
Devin no longer screamed as his body began healing from the attack which had ripped him apart, unbeknownst to Camilla two elements above her had converged, lightning and dark matter creating bolts of black lightning.
As she kept attacking Devin, the ghost vanished, her blade was the only thing left from where Devin had been, as s a flicker turned to a frenzy, Devin released the bolts of black lightning onto the unsuspecting girl. "Fuck!" She screamed as bolt after bolt hit her.
She screamed as blood began staining her clothes, her armor shattered as more and more bolts of powerful lightning hailed, it tore her apart like it had done to Devin, she fell to the ground face first as her body released steam from the heavy onslaught.
"Haunting frequency." Camilla yet again screamed in agony as her whole body convulsed, Devin had released one attack from sound that could harm a ghost tangible or not, Devin had taken advantage of Paige's attack and used it to amplify his attack on Camilla.
When the two attacks finally stopped her eyes and ears had blood trails, her breath was shallow and her body broken. "How, you didn't even use your final form." Camilla croaked and the man she had asked chuckled.
"It's not all about powerful attacks, it's about using your brains over brute strength, you fight like a street brawler than a martial artist and for a woman whose a ghost, that's pitiful, I'm sure you saw how Benjamin fought earlier, he didn't even use the actual power he had, none of them did and that's what makes us different." Devin exclaimed making Camilla frown.
"Always like you to speak highly of yourself, Ghostal Tempest: Destructive Assault." This was Camilla's final attack and Devin knew that as he moved back and waved his hands in spherical motion.
"Dark Chaos: Catalytic Upheaval." The sphere began to grow bigger and bigger, it's red glow showed the difference in power between the faint white of Camilla's attack, Devin did not want to use this power on his own kind but he had no choice this was her choice as she had challenged him.
A golden sphere wrapped around Devin, he smiled knowing who had cast the shield on him even if he weren't near him. Camilla released her attack, it hurtled toward Devin like a destructive mass of energy, as Devin released his own, the two powers clashed until Camilla's was sucked up.
She gasped and looked at the bigger red sphere approaching her, it exploded on a cataclysmic state, shaking the ground like an earthquake, a storm of debris and discharge raged in the sky and on the ground, lava spewed from the ground frighteningly, until it all settled down.
Camilla lay on her back unable to move, her ghost form fluctuated with each movement, Devin still wrapped in the golden sphere moved toward Camilla, it had healed him in the process of protecting him, as he stood in front of Camilla with the shield gone he smiled.
"I am Devin of the Ghosts, only a few royals from certain bloodlines can fight me and win, and sadly you aren't one of them." He exclaimed releasing a faint golden energy from his palm into Camilla, her ghostal form became normal until she materialized completely and vanished.
"That was one crazy battle." Paige spoke up behind Devin who hurriedly hugged the siren. "I needed that." The siren exclaimed with a smile. "You're both okay." Kyra spoke with a relieved sigh.
Ben, Hayes, Theo, and Robin all walked behind Kyra, they seemed fine but their clothes told a different story. "We are okay, but the forbidden forest was completely destroyed by our battle and we need a more complex barrier around here." The ghost explained to the rest of the group and Ben moved forward.
" Let's get this place secure and go report this to the headmaster." The witch ordered and everyone looked to him for what they had to do.
