"Who the hell is that?!" I called to Tony.
"Some Asgardian, known as Loki!" He replied. I looked in confusion at the being that rudely vacated the vicinity of Captain America.
"Agent Romanoff, did you miss me?" The jets speaker boomed with Tony's voice, before it began playing 'Shoot to thrill' By AC/DC. He landed, shooting this 'Loki' person down, knocking him to the ground. He held up all his missiles and other weapons that resided within his suit. "Make your move reindeer games" He smirked under his helmet. Loki put up his hands, and his horned, golden helmet disappeared.
'You know for an Asgardian God, he gave up way too easily.'
"Mr Stark" Steve nodded.
"Captain" Tony replied. He turned and nodded at me.
"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Captain America, I am Hannah" I beamed shyly, shaking his hand.
"Pleasure to meet you too Hannah" He responded, shaking my hand in return and bowing his head respectfully. The Quinjet landed, and Tony and Steve dragged Loki into it.
"Nat, Clint, fantastic to see you again" I smiled as I walked in, receiving a small side-hug from Nat. Grandfather knew them from shield, and he knew Tony as an inventing friend. And of course, he knew Agent Coulson. Coulson used to play with me as a child whenever Grandfather had to go to shield. Eventually, due to the lack of time Grandfather was there, I was put into the care of Samantha.
Regrettably.
"I don't like it" Steve murmured to Tony, glancing back at the God of Mischief.
"What, that rock of ages gave up so easily?" Tony whispered with agreement, confusion etched on his features.
"I know this guy. He packs a wallop" Steve commented. Lightning cracked outside.
"Where's this coming from?" Nat questioned. Loki looked out fearfully.
"What's the matter? Scared of a little lightning?" Steve questioned sarcastically.
"I'm not overly fond of what follows" Loki replied. I tuned in suddenly. He knew something was going to happen.
But what?
We heard a loud noise as something landed on the roof of the jet.
"Jack, status" I called. He scanned the roof and glanced at Jaya.
"There appears to be someone on it" Jaya stated. Tony's mask closed over and he opened the door.
"Are you crazy?!" I called out to him. A being landed on the edge, grabbed Loki and flew away as fast as the lightning he emitted. Tony went to jump out after him.
"Another Asgardian" Tony murmured
"That guy's a friendly?!" Steve called out.
"Doesn't matter, if he frees Loki or kills him, the tesseract's lost" Tony responded, turning for the door.
"Stark! We need a plan of attack!"
"I have a plan...attack" Tony commented, jumping out of the jet. I rolled my eyes at him. Steve put on a parachute.
"Steve what are you....?" I asked.
"I'd sit this one out Cap!" Nat called
"I don't see how I can ma'am" He responded
"These guys come from legends! They're basically gods!" She called back
"There's only one God ma'am, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that" Steve spoke before jumping out after The Ironman, the trickster and 'Thunderboy'. I sighed.
"Are they both always this stubborn?" I asked Nat sarcastically. She nodded 'yes' and looked back at me worriedly. I jumped out after them, my wings folded to increase the speed of the flight.

By the time I got there, Tony and the other person had managed to annihilate half the forest. I was about to intervene when I noticed Loki, rather enjoying himself, watching the fight, sitting on the edge of a cliff. I landed in front of him, and a smirk reappeared on his face.
"Hello Avenger...and small but weirdly cute robot thing" He commented, his smirk never leaving.
"I do not have time for your games unfortunately Loki. And the robot things name is Jack" I replied.
"We've only just met and you already are bored of my tricks? Tsk tsk, didn't your parents teach you any manners?" He commented, winking cheekily. I sighed and looked down subtly.
"I don't know, they weren't around that long" I replied confidently, secretly hiding the pain that buried itself deep inside of me. He went silent. "What? No cheeky jeer? How uncharacteristic of you. And I've only known you for half an hour" I added with a very quiet laugh. Loki chuckled. I raised my eyebrows. "Alright. Jet. Now" I sighed. I hovered upwards and my boots turned into claws. "Didn't see that coming huh?" I winked, picking him up and flying towards the jet. "Jack! Make sure he doesn't try anything funny!" I called.
"Why would I do that?" Loki smirked. I rolled my eyes.
"Clint! Nat! Can you open the jet entrance?" I called into the radio loudly to try and hear them over the lightning.
"Doing it now!" Clint replied. The entrance opened and I flew in, dumping Loki on the chair and handcuffing him again. Jack hovered in front of him, staring at him, daring him to make a move. Loki sat in silence, staring back, which I found highly suspicious. The jet entrance closed, and I was concerned that Tony and Steve hadn't come back.
"They're meeting us back at the Helecarrier, you can relax" Nat called back to me. I breathed a sigh of relief and watched Loki carefully as we made our way to the Helecarrier. He seemed far too pleased to be captured......

Loki was escorted off the jet by about 10 different heavily guards, all armed to the teeth. But instead of being pissed off or even slightly worried, he seemed amused and mischievous. I followed the guards as he walked down the hallways. I stopped as I saw someone in the labs who lowered his head, took off his glasses and dragged a hand down his tired face uncomfortably when Loki walked passed. I opened the door and he jumped at the sudden noise, inhaling sharply.
"Hello there, sir" I greeted, leaning in with a wide grin. My mask was down although my suit was on, and Jack was standing a few centimetres from my foot.
"Hey" He replied, looking up at me wearily.
"I'm Hannah. I'm the uh....rookie I guess" I joked, walking into the lab.
"I'm Bruce. Bruce Banner. Nice to meet you" He smiled gently, extending his hand for a handshake, which I happily accepted.
"Running records on Bruce banner" Jaya whispered into my earpiece.
"Oh and, this is my suit Jaya and my little robot buddy Jack Stark" I added. Jaya separated from me and waved, and so did Jack. Bruce waved back with fascination.
"Bruce Banner. Also known as the 'Hulk,' due to his exposure to gamma radiation as a child, he has the ability to turn into an uncontrollable giant super strength green creature, fueled by his anger or stress" Jaya explained in my earpiece. I had heard of the hulk before. But I didn't know his name was Bruce Banner, the very man standing in front of me. Bruce seemed like such a sweet guy. How could he possibly be the hulk?
"Are you okay?" Bruce asked, looking at me slightly concerned. I snapped out of the endless abyss that is my thoughts.
"Fine. Just fine" I replied. He looked slightly more concerned for a moment and tilted his head.
"Are you sure?" He persisted once more.
"Absolutely" I responded. He didn't seem completely convinced but kept working on what he was doing, occasionally glancing over at me to catch my nervous movement. "Any sign of the Tesseract?" I asked in order to break the slightly awkward silence.
"No. nothing so far" He responded, checking the screens.
"Hannah, you and Jack are needed at the bridge immediately" A speaker chimed through the roof. I jumped a little and laughed.
"That doesn't sound too good. Duty calls! See you later Doctor Banner!" I called, suiting up and running down the hall and up towards the bridge.
•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*
"You summoned?" I laughed half-heartedly, walking up to the bridge. Steve sat at a table with Nat and Thor stood up, pacing anxiously.
"Nightmare is somewhere outside the Helecarrier. We find it only fitting that you should fight him off since he wants a challenge. But you must be careful" The man nodded to me.
"Absolutely. Not to be rude at all, but I don't believe we have met yet" I replied.
"Oh, I'm Nick Fury, head of shield" He responded.
"Fantastic to meet you, sir. I will get on with your job immediately" I nodded. "Jack! Let's go!" I called out. Jack hovered over to me and we both ran towards the outside of the Helecarrier.
•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*
"Nightmare!" I called out, hovering away from the Helecarrier, my wings majestically flapping as slowly as I breathed in the fresh air, momentarily enjoying the view.
"What are you? Some sort of metal bird?" He replied chuckling, flying into my view and hovering in front of me.
"You're new worst nightmare" I responded. He smirked.
"Stark can't take me on anymore?" He asked, a hint of nervousness in his voice.
"Tony has nothing to do with you. I am now the person you face every time you step out of line. So please, by all means. Step out of line" I told him, a wide smirk beginning to form on my face. His face mask lifted up.
"Oh I will" He smirked back. I studied his face.
'Damn. He's kinda hot.'
"Going to show me your face?" He questioned.
"In your dreams" I laughed.
"It already is" He replied, winking.
"Are you flirting with me?" I questioned.
"Maybe, is it working?" He replied.
"I do not flirt with my enemies hunny," I told him.
"That's adorable"
"Oh baby, you have no idea who you're messing with" I laughed
"Cute. Shall we fight?" He asked.
"Read my mind," I spoke. I shot at him, and he dodged it.
"Nice shot babe. But you won't beat me"
"Come at me" I grinned. He flew at me, and I moved sideways and stuck out my arm, successfully hitting him in the head. And without his mask, it had an impact. His eyes closed and his suit froze, and he began hurtling from the sky. "Sh!t!" I cursed. I dived quickly. "Jaya! Boosters!" I called. She made the boosters kick in and I flew down at tremendous speed with my wings folded, catching Nightmare quickly and unfolding my wings to fly back upwards.
"Nightmare! Night!" I called, shaking him very gently.
"That's what I thought baby. You wouldn't let me fall" He grinned, opening his eyes. I let go and he hovered again.
"I hate you" I shook my head.
"No you don't. Secretly you love me" He replied.
"No way" I rolled my eyes.
"You so do" He responded once more.
"Look, Night, I do not have time to hover here and play childish games all day, as cute as it is. Do me a favour. Please stay away from the Helecarrier. Or they will most likely shoot you down" I advised, turning to fly back.
"Hey! Iron Lady or whatever!" He called just before I left. I stopped and turned around.
"The names Luke" He smiled
"Hannah" I replied, before flying back up to the Helecarrier.
'How could he possibly be a villain?'
•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*
"Sort out Nightmare?" Fury asked.
"Of course" I replied, laughing slightly. Fury seemed to smile, although his expressions I couldn't read all that well. He had a talent of not showing any emotion whatsoever, as I have heard. Everyone in our little team was now sitting around a table. I sat next to Bruce and watched as Tony walked in talking to Agent Coulson.
"As a stabilising agent" Tony stated, replying to something I hadn't heard. "Keep love alive" Tony joked, patting Coulson's shoulder and sitting down with us. I smiled at Coulson and tuned back into the conversation.
"Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell crazy on him" Bruce commented.
"Be careful how you speak. Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard. And he is my brother...."
"He killed 80 people in 2 days" Nat pointed out.
"He's adopted" Thor added.
"Makes sense" Jaya murmured like a grumpy infant. I nudged her.
"Alright. Doctor Banner, would you and Mr Stark like to head to the labs?" Agent Hill suggested. Bruce nodded and led Tony down the hall as they talked about the tesseract. All of the Avengers seemed to slowly move off after that to do different tasks.
"Jack. Can you go check on Loki's cage please?" I asked. Jack nodded and jumped up, running off down a corridor, his tiny, adorable robot legs clunking each step. Jaya sat in a chair and remained still. I stood up. "Good afternoon Mr Coulson" I grinned, walking up behind Phil. He turned around and smiled before it slowly dropped.
"I'm very sorry about your grandfather. He was a good man, and he loved you very much" He told me. After a few moments silence, a single tear rolled down my cheek and he gave me a tight, protective hug. "It's alright. We'll take care of you. I promise" He whispered. I smiled gently again.
"Thank you Mr Coulson" I whispered. He smiled and let go of the hug, and I walked away. I got a notification in my earpiece that Loki had requested attention. "Jaya. We have been summoned. Let's rock and roll to meet the Rock of ages" I joked playfully. She laughed mechanically and stood up to walk after me, her boots echoing the robotic sound throughout the Helecarrier.
•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*
"But for real though, use the soft-sound feature Jaya-"
"But why? They can hear I'm coming can't they?" Jaya responded. We had been discussing the loud noise of her movement on the walk.
"You requested me Loki?" I asked, walking into the area where his cage was held. Jack walked beside me as I got closer to the glass.
"I want to know something," He asked.
"If it's one of your jokes, I don't have time" I sighed.
"No. This is what you Midgardians call a 'legit' question" He responded.
"Fine. Ask away" I smirked at his word for the human race.
"Is this cage built for me? Or built for....." He smirked at the camera "Something bigger and stronger."
"Let me explain how this works. You so much as scratch that glass...." Fury announced suddenly. I was startled at his sudden appearance. He pressed a button and a large hole at near the bottom of Loki's cage opened with suction levels at maximum. Loki looked down. "30,000 feet down in a steel trap!" He called over the noise. He closed it. "You get how that works? Ant" He said, gesturing to Loki. "Boot" He smirked, gesturing to the button. I stood back behind Fury with Jack.
"It's an impressive cage. Not built for me I think..."
"It was built for something a lot stronger than you," Fury said, walking further in front of me.
'He must be talking about the Hulk!' I thought to myself, looking nervously down at Jack.
"Oh, I've heard. The mindless beast" Loki smirked his sinister smirk, looking back at the camera.
"Leave him out of this," I warned Loki. He remained quiet.
'He knows how to mess with your head.'
"How desperate are you? You call on such lost creatures to defend you..."
"How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war. You still a force you can't hope to control. You talk about peace, and you kill cause it's fun. You have made me VERY desperate" Fury announced, walking so he was about a metre away from the glass.
"Ooh. It burns you to have come so close. To have the tesseract. To have power. Unlimited power. And for what. A warm light for all mankind to share. And then to be reminded what real power is" Loki spat. At that moment, Fury went silent.
"Well tell me of 'real power' wants a magazine or something" Fury stated, walking out. After Fury was a long while away, I turned back around to face the cage, my suit on and mask down.
"What's your deal Loki?" I questioned, walking back towards him.
"I have no deal. Only deal breaking" He smirked.
"Why do you want to attack earth?"
"I have no intention to attack earth"
"Then what do you want?"
"To rule it" He stated plainly, eyeing me up and down.
"Well. We won't let that happen. You may put up a good fight, but we always come out on top. Remember that Reindeer games" I whispered turning away.
"I will" He replied
I turned on my heel and walked away, feeling his gaze burning into me as I left.
•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*•*
Nat burst into the lab. She began explaining and babbling on about Loki's plan was to unleash the Hulk. I looked at Banner worriedly. He looked back at me. I didn't want to meet the hulk in person. Steve also walked in, and they all began arguing. I immediately left the lab. I didn't want to be apart of it.
After pacing around the Helecarrier for a while, I rushed back down to Loki's cage. I leant in the doorway, and he watched me through the glass, smirking as if he knew I was going to be there before I did.
"I've only been gone, what, 30 minutes, and you're already causing problems" I murmured grumpily.
"Why are you back avenger?" He questioned.
"I came to make sure you didn't try to escape. You're tricky like that" I responded, walking to the cage.
"And you know that?"
"Yes. You're a tricky man. I read about you"
"Intriguing" He commented.
"Why did you run? From Asgard?" I asked.
"Because he had daddy issues" A voice came from behind me.
"Remind me where I asked for your opinion.....Nightmare?!" I yelled, swinging around. He smirked slightly.
"Hello, babe..."
"Get off of the Helecarrier" I frowned.
"I will. As soon as you hear me out...." He whispered, his voice soft and......sweet?
"Get out Nightmare or I will get Jack to throw you out by your feet. Without your suit."
"So you aren't going list-"
"Go" I growled. He put his hands up in surrender and flew out, his face etched with the expression of defeat and hurt. Jack flew up to make sure he had left.
"Maybe you should have heard him ou-" Loki spoke. I cut him off and pulled a magnifying glass out, looking at him through it. His curiosity burned. "What are you doing?"
"Trying to see who the F*** you think you're talking too" I started laughing. He'd never admit it, but he did chuckle softly at my attempted joke.
"Not bad kid" he chuckled. He began to stare at me.
"Yes?" I laughed
"What are you?" He murmured
"A human being" I responded sarcastically
"No, you're no-"
A loud bang was heard upstairs, and before I could continue my conversation with the God of Mischief, I took off to investigate what sounded like an explosion.
