Chapter 2 - Afraid To Move Forward But Fate Gives Second Chances
Today, I met Kathleen Anna Churchill. She also goes by Kathy for short.
She is eighteen years old, six feet tall, with emerald green eyes and bleached blonde hair. Within the two minutes I was in contact with her, I knew she was generous, and calm, but can be miserable.
And she is scared of birds. And spiders.
Did I mention that she also goes through hallucinations?
Cool, right? Wrong.
Most of her hallucinations are based on something she is scared of. Ahem, birds, and spiders.
Once she told me that I immediately asked her why she is scared of birds and spiders.
She is afraid of birds because she believes that they are really just robots, created by the government (ahem, Trump) and are meant to look into your soul and report your darkest secrets.
She is afraid of spiders because she gets grossed out by the freaky legs.
I instantly shot back with; "Why the hell would you be so scared of something you can easily dominate with a plastic cup?"
That shut her up.
I also learned that she is very interested in learning new languages (so far she is fluent in French, and is still working on Spanish). She loved to travel (before her hallucinations) and she enjoys looking at instagram posts of cats on social media.
Plus. She is obsessed with bagels and enjoys stealing candy from babies. (I don't know if that last part about stealing candy was true, or if one or both of us was just hallucinating).
She told me a very interesting thing, which that; "If women ruled the world, there wouldn't be wars, there would be a lot of jealous countries that hate each other."
She seems to be a very happy person, so I ask her; "What brings you happiness?"
She thinks for a moment.
Then she says; "Switching the lights on and off to annoy people."
I think it's time we play a little game I like to call Dos. It's actually a lot better than Uno, just hear me out.
Kathy told me a story about a demon beating an angel in Uno. And how a war began.
"You sure it wasn't Monopoly?" I ask her; "I've seen what that game does."
"DRAW FOUR!" she yells, and the war starts.
"REMATCH!" I yell.
"EAT THIS, FOUL THING!" she screams, drawing a +4/change color card.
I guess you could say that my fate was meeting Kathleen. I'm just extremely grateful to have a girl around my age that knows exactly what I am going through. Still, I'm afraid to move forward. These second chances won't last forever.
