5 - Strange
It was strange.
Anxiousness grew within me as the minutes pass by. My parents had yet to come back from wherever they were and it was already two days since they apparently "left." Namjoon said they had expanded their trip days for a week, but I don't believe it. It's suspicious. Too strange to be true. My parents were almost never out except for when they went to work.
Jungkook was still sleeping in our guest room and had not left as I said he would. My brother slept soundly in his crib; his arms are wrapped around his favorite stuffed animal, a white tiger.
I got up from my bed, a slight creak coming from it. Walking out of the bedroom, I reached the kitchen and poured myself a cup of warm water. I drank it down in several short gulps. I washed my cup before placing it back to the table. "What are you doing in the kitchen when it's midnight?" A sleepy Jungkook murmured. "Nothing. I just couldn't go to sleep," I gave him a small smile before looking away.
He sat down on a chair as I lean against the counter nonchalantly. Jungkook stared at me and I stared back at him in return with the same look.
"What are you looking at?" We both said at the same time. "Nothing," our voices spoke up again. I raised my eyebrows at Jungkook before sitting across from him. "I know you're hiding something. What's wrong?" He lazily smiled at me as he revealed his cute pair of bunny teeth. "It's just that I'm worried about my parents. I know that they ab—" I covered my mouth with my hands. "You know what? Pretend I never said that," I shook my head before I started to leave the kitchen.
Jungkook grabbed my arm and held it tightly. "Is it because your parents aren't back home yet?" He asked me, giving me a concerned look for some reason. I gave a slow nod.
"It's just that it's a bit suspicious that they aren't back home. I mean I'm sort of glad they're not here as much, but it's odd cause they've never went out for so long," I fumbled with my fingers. A sigh of relief came from Jungkook's mouth, but his face panicked a bit. "I want you to listen carefully to me, Mi Rae. When you start to think deep into things that had hurt you, that's when I will no longer be by your side because you'll forget. You'll forget someone or something. It's hard to explain," his voice was pained. I was confused and didn't understand, but I nodded either way.
Jungkook let go of my wrist and said a quiet goodnight. He walked back to the guest room and closed the door behind him. What the hell was that?
I walked into my bedroom and kissed my brother's forehead before laying down on my bed. I closed my tired eyes.
Tomorrow will be a better day.

"Want to go to the carnival with me?"
I glanced up as I ate my cereal. I thought about the suggestion for a moment. Namjoon was already here to take care of my little brother so I have enough time to go. I nodded, shrugging at the same time. "Finish your cereal and go change," Jungkook stared at me, his eyes blinking with innocence. "Now?" My eyes widened. It was only eight in the morning.
He nodded with certainty. "Isn't it cold outside?" I asked. "Today, it's hotter than usual. You should be glad it's fall and not winter," he smiled. I groaned, finishing my cereal quickly.
He grabbed the bowl, walking towards the sink. I walked to my room and placed my brother outside on the couch. I changed into a pair of jeans and a black shirt. I wore a thin sweater on the outside, not bothering to zip it up. A knock came upon the door. "Come in," I replied. Jungkook walked in, fully dressed in a comfortable pair of pants and a black sweatshirt. Where did he get all these clothes from? "You ready?" He smiled. I nodded, walking out the door.
As I opened the entrance door, the babysitter was standing on the doorsteps and his finger was about to press the doorbell.
He waved to us and gave a grin. "You guys going somewhere together?" Namjoon raised his eyebrows; his eyes giving a suspicious look. "We're going to the—" a hand covered my mouth as Jungkook walked me out of the house. "Take care of her brother," Jungkook shouted towards the babysitter and rushed me down the street.
Our pace slowed down and I shoved my hands into the pockets of my sweater.

She looked beautiful. Everything about her was perfect to me — the way her brown eyes twinkled, her radiant skin, her thin yet pretty lips, and her soft hair that made me want to run my hands through it. Mi Rae. A hand waved in front of my face and I jumped a bit, slightly startled.
"What's wrong? I was talking to you and I realized you never responded. Is something worrying you?"
Mi Rae's innocent eyes stared at me curiously. "I'm okay. Just thinking about something," I responded with a grin and assured her I was fine. She suddenly stopped in her path and whimpered anxiously. She was rubbing her eye a lot with her hand. "Is there a bug in my eye? There's something there," she tugged at my arm like a kid. I chuckled and squeezed her arm harshly. She yelped in pain and a small amount of tears fell from her eyes.
The small black bug came out and I flicked it away. I wiped her tears away with my thumb and she glared at me.
I felt a sharp pain as Mi Rae kicked me on the shin. I groaned, caressing my shin. She stuck her tongue out and headed towards the carnival across the street. "You're slow like a sloth!" She shouted from across the street. "Yah! Wait for me!" I shouted back to her while smiling as I stood up.
A thought continuously worried me though as I walked towards her.
What if she doesn't need me in her life anymore?

This chapter is eh and it's boring. I feel like this book is moving way too fast but it's going to be short anyways.
