"Lindsey, are you crazy?! Her mother stammered. "Halloween was two months ago!"

"Please, Mom!" Lindsey whined. "I don't care if it's not October! I just want to go trick or treating! I want you to take me to the costume shop, so I can pick a costume!"

"Fine, you win!" Her mother sighed. "Let me go warm the car up." She grabbed her car keys, and started up her red 1976 Lincoln Continental coupe with a Montana license plate on it, and let it warm up for a few minutes.

"Yippie!" Lindsey exclaimed.

While the car was warming up, her mother called her neighbors to tell them what Lindsey was gonna do. She told them to get lots of candy. She would be the only one trick or treating. The neighbors would also have to put up their Halloween decorations.

With the car nice and toasty inside, Lindsey and her mother rode to the costume shop.
