CHAPTER V. - OSSILOR: LIGHTNING BEFORE THUNDER

Three weeks have passed and I am still not able to control or use my power. Luckily, there was no other accident at least. I started to wonder if it was just pure luck that I managed to do that thing in the canteen. Every time I had Controlling class, I just sat in the back and wasn't paying attention to the class. Why am I even here if I can't do it? At this point, I enjoyed more the basic classes like History or Introduction.

I am on my way back to my room after my classes for today, which was only Controlling. Sigh. At least it's Friday and there are no classes during the weekend. I got into my room, put my books on the bed, and laid down right next to them. Skylar was laying in her bed and was playing with her phone. I wanted to eat something after the class and also meet up with Reilly, so the girls left without me and returned to our dorm room. They did disappear somewhere though and it was only Skylar now in out room. She laughed at something and then realized I was back. She was laying on her stomach and only turned her head to look at me. She has already changed her clothes to a more comfy ones which was a matching tank top with black shorts. The color of that outfit didn't even come near the same dark raven color of her hair she had tied in a high messy bun. After she noticed me, she put her headphones down and sat on the edge of her bed. Even though she tried to help me with the practise or just hang out, I didn't want to talk about it. The only thing that was on my mind was leaving this school. If I couldn't use magic, it was useless for me to stay here. I could only focus on not getting angry in the future to minimize the accidents and live somewhat normal life being an invisible pawn in some company or a shop. I get up and go to the bathroom to wash my face and get ready for bed. I was just chilling under my blanket, texting to Reilly about what should we do tomorrow and chatting as usual. The girls were hanging out together in the living room since Skylar noticed my mood and told me that she doesn't want to bother me if I wanted to sleep. I could hear them laugh from the next room while I was doom scrolling on my phone since Reilly said she will go for a late run. I got bored of the dumb videos on the internet so I tossed the phone next to my pillow and decided to go to sleep.

The next morning I woke up because of loud noises resonating in the dorm. It was the girls laughing and giggling in the other room. Even though I wasn't tired, I didn't get up to go and hang out with them. I stayed in bed and just rolled on the other side, facing the wall. Then suddenly someone jumps on me and starts to tickle me. I turn around annoyed. It was Kisha and she started apologizing for waking me up. I brushed it off and said it was okay, that I was already up. Half-awake, half asleep I sit up on my bed and watch them walk in and out of our room or dance around with clothes in their hands, pressing them to their bodies and ask around about which one they should go with. I asked them why are they dressing up in some fancy clothes, fancier than those they usual wear for classes. There is apparently an initiation party for the first years. It's unofficial because it's organized by older students. It is not sanctioned by the school but the professors apparently don't mind us having a fun from time to time. I didn't want to go. There was no reason for me to go and meet students if I am going to leave the school and I was never the party type.

Skylar: Oh come on, girl. Come with us, it will help you get your mind off school stuff.

Kisha: Maybe, I will get together with one of the 3rd years.

Solya: Why only 3rd years, girl? I am aiming higher!

Tsk. I am really not in the mood for discussing boyfriends. I have never dated in my life. Didn't want to because of the accidents and weird stuff happening around me. There was one boy in the orphanage who confessed to me. He was nice and kind but essentially, he got into a good foster home while I was still the demonic child and he forgotten about me after a few months. And then after that one time at an over-nigth stay high school trip we had one year, I was rather going to be a nun than deal with any men in this neighborhood. After a long day of visiting museums and galleries with the class, I just wanted to go to bed but Eddie, one guy from my class wanted to talk. I went to the meet up place next to the illuminated pool only to get it over with. Either he wanted to ask for notes or confess, I didn't care at the time. I crossed my arms in front of my chest, trying to fight the cold night breeze and only turned to him, barking at him what he wants. But he grabbed me and tried to kiss me. I fought out of his grip, trying to kick and slap him but it wasn't working and then the „demonic possession" happened while some of the deck chairs left near the pool started to get dragged towards us and fly up. Eddie pushed me and I fell into the pool filled with now cold water. Some of the kids started to look from the balconies or windows of their rooms and those who were on the same floor just ran out when they heard the noise. Seeing my pool they started to laugh and look at Eddie who only blurted out that I was the one trying to make a move on him to save his disgusting ass. And since then he joined the bullying squad, spreading rumors how I was creepy and I tried to sleep with the popular boys only to get rid of the „being an orphan kid" label. My memories of the dating scenarios in my life were interrupted by Crimen that spoke the girls on her way to the room, drying her wet hair with a white towel.

Crimen: Or maybe you can try something with Killian.

Me: Killian? Who is that?

I join their conversation, wondering. Haven't heard any student by that name that would be so popular and girl fawning over him. He definitely wasn't in my year. The girls look at me and they chuckle.

Crimen: You don't know who Killian is? Haven't you seen him or heard of him? He is one of the hottest people in the school, well between the teachers at least. I am surprised.

Me: Isn't that party supposed to be for students? Why would a teacher be there?

Kisha: It is, but since Killian is almost our age, he comes there from time to time.

Skylar: Yeah, but he only sits in the corner drinking Pramen and rarely talks to anyone. Besides annoying girls that come to him.

Me: Being so young and already a Professor at a university, he must be strong.

Skylar: Not really. At least, I don't think so. His main power is mind-reading, which is not really offensive power. Not strong even on the defensive side. Hmmm. But he is hot. His long hair, good body....

That description sounded familiar and then it hit me. Killian must be Professor Hale. So he can really read minds. No wonder he replied to my thoughts in the Principal's office. I wanted to talk to him and ask if I can somehow drop out of the school. I got up and started to get ready too which surprised the girls.

Kisha: Suddenly, you are interested in going, Kaitlin?

Me: No, I just want to ask him something but I have no time during classes to meet with him. And I don't know how to contact him. I know where his office is but can I just wait for him there? It should be easier to catch him during the party, I guess.

I explain my interest in the Professor to them but they only laugh, nod and wink at me mockingly. I tried to tell them that it's not like that, but they didn't listen. Instead, they continued in their preparations. Running from the living room to the bathroom or the other room. One after another, bumping into each other in the doorway. Looking for make up, curlers, or switching dresses. Seeing girls getting ready with everything dumped around the living room, I close the door on my room, leaving me alone in it. I go to my small cupboard to grab some decent clothes. My clothes arrived in a closet, similar to the one I had in my previous room but it was too big and I didn't have that many clothes. I asked the girls if there is a way to change it since it was a huge piece just wasting space in the room. Skylar offered to put down in a request for a furniture change and somehow when I got back after my classes there it was. Switched and all my clothes moved, folded in neatly. I opened the top drawer, and searched for a pair of clean jeans. Combining it with a plain white T-shirt, tucking it into the jeans. I went with a simple make up, red lipstick and then put my hair into a ponytail. I was holding the rubber band between my lips, brushing through my hair with my hands, trying to set them a little bit. As I was making my hair, I walked to the work desk and then picked my phone with keys. Leaving the room and closing the door behind me, I turn around and girls look at me with opened mouths. I asked them, not knowing why they are looking at me like that.

Me: Why? What is it?

Kisha: Girl, you really want to go looking like that? You won't get any guys!

Kisha comments on my outfit. I look down on my clothes and then look back at them, shrugging my shoulders. I sit on the couch, waiting for girls to finish putting together their outfits. Playing on my phone, I lost a track of time and zoned out. I look up to check if the girls are ready and I see them putting their shoes on, standing in little room's lobby, and keep checking themselves in the mirror that is on the wall right next to the door. Picking their handbags, they wave at me and I get up from the couch. I ran up to them and quickly put my red sneakers on and followed them through the school. Passing the main halls and classrooms we walk to the east wing. Few students joined us on our way and then we stopped in front of a janitor's closet. I didn't understand what were we doing there and why they even needed it. I have never seen a janitor walking around cleaning. Which at the end couldn't it be done with magic? Chanti knocked on the door and we waited. After a few minutes, the door opened and a senior came out. He started calling us and handing out some braided leather bracelets. I walk up to him to grab one and then return to the girls, holding it in my hand confused, looking around at other students. They all put it on and then one by one opened the door and walked inside.

Chanti: Put it on Kaitlin, it's a pass.

Chanti explained when she saw me just standing there looking like a lost puppy. I did as she told me and then it was my turn to go in. I took a deep breath and opened the door. Walking inside it was dark everywhere. I tried to walk slowly because I didn't want to bump into brooms or janitor's stuff. But then I felt something pushing me from behind. I turned around but there was no one. I waved my arms around in the dark to grab them but I didn't find anyone. I turned back to the front and took few steps when something started to push me again. This time it was harder but I couldn't turn back to see what it was because I felt a strong force pulling me. Without being able to see around me, I got pulled through a purple light and then I was standing in a big room. Music was playing loud, some students were already there, dancing. Purple lights switching with pink ones, falling down on sweaty people who are stuck to each other, dancing or kissing. Others were sitting at the bar or tables, talking to each other, drinking, and laughing. Mostly it was 1st years looking a bit lost and then 2nd years just hanging around. Everyone was dressed for the party and no one was wearing their cloaks to determine their year, but I have seen some of them while I was roaming the hallways or going to my classes so I remembered their faces. Seniors were grouped together tight in one corner, silently judging others. Then there were those who were showing off their skills by conjuring images from the air, throwing glasses using telekinesis, or kids using their elemental skills. I looked around confused when the girls arrived into the room and walked behind me. I turned my head slightly to the right, looking at Chanti and Skylar. Suddenly somebody walks to us but I didn't register that person because I was spacing out. She asked me something but I couldn't hear.

Female student: Are you a first-year?

She asked me again and this time I could hear her clearly. I turned to face the person who was talking to me and just nodded when my eyes met hers, giving her that little „uhuh" as a response.

Female student: Come with me then.

I didn't know who she is so I looked at the girls, not wanting to leave them but they pushed me slightly to go and follow that girl. I stumbled and took a few small steps before walking at normal speed. Catching up with the girl, I follow her to the center of the room where other students were standing like lost sheep. We got slowly herded here. I recognized a few of the people standing around. They were 1st years like me. I whispered to the guy standing next to me, asking him, if he knew what was going on. He opened his mouth trying to tell me something but before he could say anything, somebody started yelling at us like this was some military camp.

Senior student: You little brats thought that this is going to be a pretty amazing party for you. Well, let me take you away from that dream. From now on, you will be under our rule. If we command you to do something, you won't be asking why. You will say "yes, sir". Now. I want you to go, pick up the plates and waitress the whole evening. And be careful. If you spill just one drop, we will make sure that you will say bye-bye to this school.

We look at him and few students scoff. They start to talk between themselves about not doing it but then everything changed when the 5th years lined up in front of us, fired up their powers. Literally. A scorching hot fire started to rise up from their palms. All of us got scared slightly and we started to back up slowly. Looking at each other, we then decided to do as we were told. Everyone ran off to different corners of the room, picking up plates and gathering drinks. I found a table full of poured glasses so I walk to it, picking a few of them and putting them in on my plate. I focus on the drinks, trying not to spill one or drop the whole plate. At least I was used to this and had some practise from working at that small coffee shop. I feel a hand on my shoulder so I turn around with my head lowered so I don't look that person in the eyes.

Person: Don't be afraid. Just put the plate down.

That voice sounded so calm and somewhat familiar so I decided to look up. It was Professor Hale. I froze up and stared at him while holding the drinks. Not having control over my body, the plate started slipping from my hands. Professor managed to catch them in time. He held my hands, supporting the plate. Looking me straight in the eye, he slowly brushed his hands off mine, taking the plate and then putting it down. I wanted to say something but for some reason, I couldn't. The only thought that crossed my mind was thank you.

Professor Hale: You are welcome.

What? How did he-. Oh yeah, that's right. He can read minds. I totally forgot that for a moment. I was trying to leave the school and focused on going back to the normal world, it slipped my mind that we are at a freaking magic academy. I was going to ask him about me leaving the school, what should I do but then I heard a loud crash and the sound of glass breaking.

Senior student: Now look what we have here. A clumsy one. Hey Clumsy, what did we tell you?

1st year classmate: You- you-...

Senior student: You you you... we what? Now come one. Don't be shy.

1st year classmate: You said that- that-...

Senior students started to laugh at the poor guy sitting on the ground, holding his knees. He was crying and trembling. He couldn't answer them and they mocked him for the stuttering. I didn't know the guy so he must be from another 1st year class and not mine. I couldn't stand their behavior though so I yelled at them. They stopped laughing and looked around the room.

Senior student: Who said that? WHO SAID THAT?

Another classmate was near me and she saw that it was me. The classmate walked to me and held my arm, stopping me, as I was going to walk through the crowd and confront the seniors. I look at her shaking her head and telling me not to go. But I assured her and pulled her hand away. I say "me" and then people in front of me turn around to face in my direction. I go through them and stand in front of the crowd.

Me: We got here because we are magician descendants too. The school picked us too. So why should you have more privileges than us? Why should we listen to you? Come on guys, let's face them.

I urge my classmates to join me. They were hesitant at first but when the seniors started to group in front of me and the guy, they looked at each other and then decided to join me. They hesitantly walked towards me. Even though they were scared, they joined me and stood up to the seniors. Most of them were new to the magic liek me and I wasn't sure if my powers would come in to help but I wouldn't stand for this bullying, not anymore.

Senior student: Oh look at that. And what are you trying to do? What spells do you know? Do you have your powers?

Me: We might not be as strong as you, but we won't tolerate this. We can win if we want.

After I barked back at him, the senior smirked and turned his head slightly to the right. With the approval of the others, he turned his head back to us and then started to clap. The others joined him. I looked at Professor Hale and wondered why he didn't stop this in the first place. He was just standing there, arms crossed, leaning against the table and spectating the whole situation and let it unfold without even helping us.

Senior student: And this is how you will survive. There might not be big fights or wars in the future but you never know when you will need help. And you need to stick together, fight together. Good job 1st year. Now enjoy the party.

We looked at him bamboozled at what he just said. So this was just some sick test? What were they trying to do? Scare us? That went well for them. I scoff and then try to find my way out of the party. I walk to the place where everyone arrived through the janitor's closet but I couldn't find any door. I only tapped with my palms on the cold stone wall. Professor Hale then walked to me.

Professor Hale: You were brave back there. Good job.

Me: Are you serious?

Professor Hale: Why do you ask?

Me: You're a teacher and you let them mortify us like that? What sick school is this? It's even worse than my old high school.

The Professor tried to talk to me but I couldn't face him right now. I growl out of frustration and bang on the wall in front of me. Where are the damn doors? I wanted to get out of there as fast as possible but I couldn't. I turn around, trying to find another way. I look at Professor Hale annoyed and then I tried to leave but he stopped me. I snatched my arm from his grip and looked him dead in the eye. He was going to say something but then he stopped himself and he walked to the wall. Putting his hand on the wall, he brushed his fingers against it in weird directions, and then he took a step back. After a while, the door appeared on the wall. Without any words, he just nodded at me and then left to mingle into the crowd. I open the door, walk in and close them behind me. It was pitch black in there but I managed to walk through it, bumping into few things until I found a doorknob. Opening the door, a light lit the small room revealing the janitor's stuff in it. I get out and I find myself back in the halls of the academy. Restless, I go back to my dorm and clean myself up. With mixed feelings and thoughts, I lay down on my bed, closing my eyes I drift to sleep.

I fidget and toss in the bed. I can see a bright blue light in front of me. In the middle, there is a shadow of a person. It's the same dream I keep having since I can remember. But this time it was slightly different. Every time I have this dream, there is only the blue light and a shadow person. Now, I can see a different shadow. A second shadow behind the first one. But it's not a person. It has a weird shape. I try to focus on it. It looks like. It almost looks like. I try to find out but before I could, someone's voice woke me up.

Skylar: Kaitlin. Kaitlin! Wake up, are you alright?

Me: Dammit.

Skylar: Are you alright? You were all sweaty and tossing around your bed, mumbling something.

Me: Yeah. I am sorry if I woke you up.

Skylar: Me too. We are sorry.

Me: For what?

Solya: For not telling you about the initiation ceremony at the party.

Skylar: Yeah, we are sorry. We went through it before you, but we are prohibited from telling 1st years anything about it. Generally, we don't even have a chance to tell them, but since you are an exception, living here with us...

Solya: We wanted to warn you about it, but they specifically told us not to. The reason you know. Seniors told that at the party. We are sorry, again.

Me: It's okay. I am just glad my powers didn't go off from that anger. I could hurt someone.

Solya & Skylar: Don't be ridiculous. That wouldn't happen.

Me: It could. You don't know half of it what happened to me in life. And now I know, I have caused it with my magic...

The girls formed small tears in their eyes. All apologetic they scooched a little bit closer to me on my bed and hugged me. We pull away and I give them a weak smile, trying not to tip them off, but I was still determined to leave the Aveus Academy.

The time went fast, the weekend was over and soon the classes started again. I was back to my first-year classes at least. I asked the girls if there is any rules I need to follow when requesting a meeting with a professor but I they told me to just catch them in hallways and go camp before their office until they come. I wanted to go to Professor Hale's office and ask him about me leaving, but I lashed out at him at the party so I was afraid to confront him right now. I was mentally preparing to go there at the end of the day. Now I just went to each class on my schedule, passing through them and not paying attention. The last two ones were on my list. The first one is History. I go to the classroom and sit down at the empty seat. After a while, other students came too. Then the class started.

Professor Ikaim: We have covered all you need to know. Soon you will have a test and then you pass this class. Now, do you have any questions?

Classmate: Could you please tell us about the sorting system?

Professor Ikaim: This all will be covered in your second and third year but we can talk about some basics now. Generally, our academy is split into two parts. Aveus for magicians and Umbras for demigods. The Umbras students are not separated based on their powers but on their god heritage. Each and one of them is a descendant of one of the Greek gods and goddesses. Aveus has a different type of sorting for our students. Since magicians are talented in many areas, we separate them into four houses that were founded and named after the first magic families. We can be proud that one of you managed to manifest their powers so soon and she got sorted in her first year. Kaitlin, you got into the Ossilor house. The Ossilors were famous for their physical abilities. They could move things with their mind, they were as fast as light, some could even bend it. Others were really strong or they could control the energy in the air, manifesting it into the form of electricity. Your classmate can use telekinesis, that's why she was put into this house. If you are lucky, but also strong, you will also manifest your special power and get sorted into your house. But that is your worry for the third year. Now, that was the Ossilor house. Next we have Idarin, Dorhan and Unell. As Idarin students, you are natural magicians. Your power comes from the earth, water, fire, or wind. The elements around you flow through you and you can bend them to your will. Dorhan's powers are focused on mental abilities, the same as the Dorhan family. You will be able to read the minds, feelings of others or you will be able to travel through space into a different place.

Student: But what about Unell? We haven't heard about a family with that name.

Professor Ikaim: The Unell house was named after the first undetermined student. Migail Unell. She was a student at the Aveus academy long before you. At first, the people thought every magician is supposed to develop a power. Since Migail, we have learned that sometimes the power won't come. Those students are without any special power from the big houses, but still are able of spell casting. Which you will learn more about in your next class. Now you can go and don't forget to study for the test.

The teacher goes back to his seat and everyone packs their stuff, leaving the class and they are on their way to the Casting. A class that got added a few days after the school started. As was I entering the classroom, someone pulled me to the side. It was Chanti and Lucy. I greeted them but they were all panicked. I asked what was wrong but they said just to go to the dressing room quick. I did as they told me and went. Opening the door and walking in, I look around and say hello, trying to find someone. But I think there is no one in the room. Soon after, the door opened again so I turned around to see Young coming in.

Young: I forgot to take you here. But don't blame me. It's not like every day a first-year gets sorted into the house.

Me: What is this about?

Young: Come with me.

I follow Young to the back of the room. He is "charming" as always but I am kinda starting to get used to him. I know for some reason that I can trust him. He goes through the cloaks hanging in front of him. He picks one, checks a tag that's attached to it and then hands it over to me.

Young: Here. This is your Ossilor cloak. Please return your first year's cloak and change into your new one. Since you are already in the house, you should wear this one.

I couldn't even tell thank you to Young and he was already on his way out as I was changing my cloaks. I fold the old one and put it into the wooden box over which was a sign FIRST-YEAR CLOAKS, RETURN HERE. At least they made that easy. I sighed but then I heard the bell ring which reminded me that I have the last class to go to. I ran to the Casting I. and got ready for the class. Everyone was staring at me the whole time since I showed up in the Ossilor's cloak. All the classmates were covered in the plain black cotton fabric while mine shined against the bronze satin that filled out my hood. And my sides of both shoulders were decorated with embroided phoenix that was sitting above a white star. I never really noticed that little star or thought about it when I remembered that the 4th years I saw at the start of the year had four of them under the embroidery. I guess that's their way to discern in which year we are.

The rest of the class went fast. They showed us few easy spells for daily use and we practised them. They taught us how to shield ourselves and protect us from any danger, deflecting both physical and magical. The size of the shield depends on the amount of magic a caster has. Some of my classmates could do a bigger one, extending it around them, while mine had a small area but was thicker. The teacher told us to focus on one part of it, either the strenght or the size of it. I tried to enhance the thickness of it and then the class ended.

Now the hard part of my day comes: going to Professor Hale's office. I stand for a while in front of the door, contemplating whether I should knock or just go away. I finally gathered up the courage and knocked on the door. I heard the Professor telling me to come in. So I grabbed the handle and I was going to enter the office but then I got pushed aside by someone. She is probably a student too but she was rude as hell. Professor saw me and called me inside. The girl glared at me but then entered the office before I could and she almost slammed the door in my face. I managed to stop them but it hit my hand with an impact, something in my wrist cracked. I pulled my hand to my chest and held it. I hissed from the pain. The door opened again, by itself, revealing both of them. The student girl standing while her blonde hair covered her back up to her half, falling down on the white fabric of her summer dress. She had arms crossed in front of her chest while one of her legs was crossed over the other. Professor Hale was sitting behind his desk when he told the girl to leave and wait after he was done with me because I was there first. I clenched my teeth and told him it's okay through the pain. That I could come some other time. The girl turned to me and then smirked, waving her hand at me signaling me to go away. Every time I talked to him, his voice was monotone but this time I could feel the slight anger in his voice when he told the girl to either wait or leave. She rolled her eyes and then left the office. I went inside and just stood there. I tried to talk to Professor Hale but he was just going through the cabinets in his office and taking stuff out. My eyes trailed his movements, I paused every time he moved to a different cabinet. When he finally gathered whatever it was he was getting, I started to talk about me leaving the school but then he stopped me.

Professor Hale: Please, first sit down.

I told him that it's okay. I just wanted to know what should I do when I want to leave school. Not to just go back into the outside world but to drop out of the Aveus program.

Me: Do I have to go to the Principal directly or?

Professor Hale: We can talk later, now sit.

I continued to ask him while he was setting some things on the table. I was starting to get annoyed but then he lifts up his head and looks at me. With a soft look, he stood up from the couch and walked to me. He reached his hand and looked at me. I was going to ask him something again but he just reached further and grabbed my arm.

Professor Hale: You are a stubborn one.

I figured it out after that. I was thinking that it's nothing and that I will take care of it later. He wanted to take care of my wrist but I was trying to leave as fast as I could so I tried to pull away. He kept eye contact with me the whole time but his hand slipped down to my wrist and he pulled slightly. I hissed from the pain.

Professor Hale: Now do you still think it's nothing?

Damn him and his mind-reading. He chuckled a little bit and then gently pulled me to the couch and made me sit down. It was the first time I saw something other than the stern expression. He treated my wrist first and then he told me to speak about everything I wanted. I started to explain things but we got interrupted by a sudden phone call. He excused himself and went to pick it up, so I decided to leave and ask the Principal directly. Hopefully, he will have some free time. I left the office and was on my way back to the dorm but as soon as I closed the door and turned, there was that girl standing in the hallway in front of the office. Leaning against the wall with one foot pressed against it and crossed hands.

Girl: Who are you to be so chubby with Killian?

Me: I just had a question that's all.

Girl: Yeah sure. Like you all lowly magicians do. Tsk. Phoenix huh. Listen up here Ossilor girl, leave and procreate with your fellas. Leave that filthy blood away from us.

Me: I am sorry? What do you mean? No cloak? Heh, you must be a god spawn then.

Girl: Yes. So don't try to go at me. I will put you at your place.

I scoffed and then I started to walk away to go back to my dorm room. I didn't want to waste time on this worthless conversation. When I started to walk away the girl yelled at me but it didn't stop me. She yelled again and then I heard wind whooshing. I turn around and there are stones forming around that demigod girl. She pushed her hands in front of her and the stones flew at me. I managed to dodge them somehow. She got pissed even more and created bigger ones. She was ready to send them my direction again but I wasn't gonna let her. If I really have powers I need them now or never. I focused on the stones and tried to move them with my mind out of the way so that they don't crash into me. I wasn't really thinking about moving them though. The thought was about somehow destroying them. I thought I would do it with my telekinetic powers. But to mine, and her surprise, as the stones flew at me, they got destroyed by blue electricity flowing from me and my hands. The force of the impact threw the girl away with the debris from the stones. She flew a few feet to the back and the stones blew into every direction, destroying the walls around, few of them hitting her. I was still catching my breath when Professor Hale came out of his office with a surprised expression when he saw the damage. He looked around the hallway and saw the demigod girl all bloody and with slashes on her body, sitting on the ground. Then he looked at me. I stumbled a few steps back while he went to help the girl. She stood up with his help and then she hung onto his arm a little too close I would say. But that worked in her favor as she strike me with a wicked smirk, one that Professor Hale didn't notice, and then she went back into pretending how hurt she was. He left with her and I just stood there in shock. The time stopped flowing around me and I didn't even move a muscle while I just stood there like I was turned into a statue. After a few minutes which felt like years, he came back, and behind him, there was Principal Idarin. They told me to come into his office but I couldn't move. My ears were ringing and I started to lose strength in my legs. I wanted to walk inside, ready for them to expel me for this but as soon as I tried to take a step, I couldn't hear anything besides the buzzing, my legs gave out and I fell to the ground. I could hear Professor Hale yelling my name which was all muffled and I saw his body getting closer, running towards me before I passed out. My vision turned blue and in the middle, there is that shadow person with a big wolf standing behind them. The last thing I remember is a male voice saying:

"One day we will be family again."
