Chapter 30 - The Ones He Called Family
Three Years Ago...
"Parker?" Elizabeth came walking up behind Parker, who was sat on a hill. The wind was blowing and it was dark, the moon shining across the river, the water glistening and the fireflies floating around ever so slowly.
"What is it?" Parker asked, without turning her way. He was staring at the water directly below him, frowning slightly at his own thoughts.
"We're changing location soon, you know? Why don't you go and see your Mom before we leave" Elizabeth suggested quietly to Parker.
"Why should I? She probably hates me after I left, I haven't been since I did" Parker brought his knees up and wrapped his arms around them. This was another side of Parker no one but Elizabeth knew. He wasn't being his old nonchalant self.
"It doesn't really matter if you don't want to. We're fine with that. I just thought it was a good idea" Elizabeth sat down next to Parker and looked down at the water.
There was a moment of silence as Parker reflected on the choice he had. Crickets could be heard chirping in the background, the noise wrapping around the silence between the two like a bow. Elizabeth looked at Parker as he raised his head towards the starry sky.
"I guess so" was all he could reply with after the silence.
"Well, just remember that we are also your family" Elizabeth smiled and Parker looked back at her.
Family, huh?
Present Day...
Parker stood on the hill, looking down at the water. He could see his reflection from a standing position, his face reminding him of the past. He could see how he looked back then and the events that occurred.
"What even is a family?" Parker said to himself, putting his hands in his pockets. "It just seems like a corrupt idea put into my head. To me anyway. We don't get a say in who we are 'family' to...it's just made for us..."
"Parker?" Elizabeth stood behind him, a sense of deja vu sending shockwaves through his body. Elizabeth stepped up so she was next to him, her long hair blowing crazily in the wind that was passing by.
Parker paused, silence filling the space. He didn't know how to reply. He had vengeance on his mind, total destruction for her and the rest of them. But, she sounded sincere and like she wanted to talk. He wasn't sure.
"Parker?" she repeated, tilting her head towards him.
"What?" Parker replied, not even glancing her way, his eyes stuck to the water below. The breeze picked up again as they both paused. Elizabeth stared hard at Parker, waiting for him to look up. However, he wasn't going to move a muscle.
"You know why we did what we have done. You understand, right?" Elizabeth stepped a little closer, reaching out a hand. Parker instantly slapped her arm away and turned to her, fire in his eyes.
"Oh I understand" his voice was filled with malice. He clearly still had vengeance on his mind. "I am going to make sure you all pay one final time"
"I see..." Elizabeth frowned and then clicked her fingers. "I didn't want it to end this way"
Parker looked up and realised it was too late. Suddenly, a net dropped down from a helicopter that had somehow swooped over the two unnoticed. It had a silent engine and now Parker was trapped. The net was on a cable that stretched out from the helicopter and it picked Parker up with ease.
"Let me out of here!" Parker sarcastically mimicked the voice of Elizabeth.
"Nope. We are a family, Parker. We never leave anyone behind" Elizabeth spoke slowly, an evil smile curling across her lips. She waited for a ladder to drop down from the compartment at the back of the helicopter and began climbing up to the top. Halfway, her eyes met with Parker. "Have a nice trip!"
"Tch..." Parker looked back at the water one last time and then across to the hills in the distance. The helicopter turned and began to set off, heading towards a location Parker was not aware of.
The journey was quick and the helicopter began landing after half an hour. First, they had to drop Parker and then land next to him. Parker noticed that he could use this timing to execute a plan. They hadn't taken away his Pokemon nor had they cuffed him. Parker waited for the right moment to bring out his Bisharp, the helicopter lowering him and the net he was encased into the ground. As soon as the cable retracted back into the helicopter, Parker pulled up Bisharp's Pokeball.
"Bisharp, metal claw!" Parker called and the blue light faded, revealing his Pokemon, who instantly dashed at the net, arms shining in an extra strong metal coat. With one slash after another, the net finally snapped, just in time as the helicopter finished landing. Parker untangled himself from the net and stood to face Elizabeth, who got out first.
"Didn't I say we are all family? Why are you trying to get away?" Elizabeth tilted her head, confused. She was clearly being sarcastic and joking.
"Family is just a made up construct to me. You're not a real family. You have caused great trouble for me and my friends. You're nothing to me now. You're people that are going to pay" Parker stared hard at Elizabeth. His face was void of emotion. Elizabeth could tell with one quick glance that he was being cold blooded. Merciless. She grinned at the thought of the challenge.
"Houndour, flamethrower!" Elizabeth slipped a Pokeball onto the floor and Houndour came out, unleashing a huge blast of fire at Parker's Bisharp.
"Bisharp, dodge and guillotine" Parker's monotonous voice rang out. He barely made any movement, still staring straight at Elizabeth as his Bisharp flipped over the flamethrower, the claws on Bisharp glowing light-blue in colour. Parker's Pokemon slashed down at the Houndour upon landing, the move hitting and causing Elizabeth's Pokemon to faint instantly.
"I see your Pokemon are as strong as ever" Elizabeth giggled slightly and began pacing up and down. There was a tense feeling in the air. Both of them could sense it. The stream beside the field they were on was the only thing producing a sound, water trickling across rocks and Magikarp swimming around.
"I made sure I was strong enough for this day. First, I will stop you and then everyone else. I know they are all here, waiting for a moment to strike" Parker looked left and right and then back at Elizabeth. "Just stop playing around and give my your all"
Elizabeth began to speak, but a set of robes were suddenly in her way, flowing in the wind. She looked up, realising it was Team Shadow's boss, standing in the way. He was putting himself into the fray and she realised what was next, the grin on her face returning.
"I see your senses are as sharp as ever. Why don't we settle this once and for all?" he spoke directly to Parker, clicking his fingers. As if on cue to the clicking, Groudon smashed straight through the trees, molten ground following its every move. Kyogre splashed through the water, also appearing from the other side of the bank.
"I was waiting for you to bring out your toys" Parker smirked, his eyes filled with the same fire as before. Elizabeth stared at him, completely confused at his reaction. "Time to end this"
Meanwhile...
Ash and the rest of the gang were searching for clues on the possible locations of Team Shadow. They were all in the Kanto region now, but none of them knew that Team Shadow where currently in the region next door, Johto.
"I bet Parker has already found them by now" Ash commented as they all sat down to take a break.
"Pika..." Pikachu replied, nodding in clear agreement, jumping off of Ash's shoulder to rest on the grass.
"We need to search faster. He can't take the two legendaries on his own" Dawn sighed, resting against a rock. She brought out a bottle of water and twisted the cap, taking a drink. "This feels too much like the last time"
"You can say that again" Misty agreed, frowning to herself. "I feel as if though sheer numbers might not be enough, though"
"Yeah...I have had the weird feeling that we won't win this battle" May took the water from Dawn and took a sip, receiving an angered look for her troubles.
"That's stupid" Ash replied and everyone turned to him. "We have won battles tougher than this. We have fought for so much more, fought through so much more. We can do this. Don't ever doubt it. We will find them and do our best"
Just as Ash spoke, a burst of fire shot up into the sky. The ground began to shake and the noise of the fire exploding echoed through the whole of Pallet Town. One by one, everyone looked up at the fire as it slowly began to fade away. The noise went and everything fell silent for a moment.
"Looks like he gave us his location" Lance finally spoke from the back of the group, the other champions in a conversation. "Time to make them pay"
Everyone began packing up their gear and prepared for the final battle. The battle that was going to partly decide the future for the whole of the gang. There were plenty of other factors that could change the future drastically. Change that many of them were not prepared for.

The Investigation Club - An Amourshipping Story
Hi there. My name's Ash Ketchum. Today I start my first day at high school. All of my friends have got into the same school so I am excited and raring to go. To be honest, I have no idea how we all made it into such a prestigious school.
You don't know what school I am talking about? It's the best school in all of the region! Lumiose High School of Academic Perfection is the precise name. The abbreviation is L.A.P and the only jokes anyone can make about this school is the perverted use of that very word. Most students of other schools are just very jealous of the talent in L.A.P.
When I say talent, I mean brains. Everyone is a top scorer. The top 10 in the first year usually achieve 99-100% and there are at least five students that tie first place. It is hectic.
Me and my friends? Oh, we finish right at the bottom. Surprised? Because I am not. I can barely hold my own in Math, it's hectic. Let's not forget every other subject on the curriculum. It isn't just me either. All of my friends are very bad at the subjects the school has to offer. We barely scraped entry into the school. We didn't even get the minimum percentage on our overall scores. The reason we got in was due to our innate abilities as first-rate detectives. Each of us in the group have individual abilities that make us unique and make our team unstopabble.
Let me tell you a story of a crime we uncovered in Middle School. You can meet all of my great friends as we continue our journey!

This cover is pretty great xD
I love it. The creator said I don't need to tag her but I probably will in the main book.
The Pokemon in the background don't necessarily mean anything specific (just a note)
Have a nice day!
