Jaren Lockwhyle
Name: Jaren Lockwhyle, although close friends just refer to him as Lockwhyle. Just kidding his only friend is Pepper. Still, she does call him exclusively Lockwhyle.
Age: 21, and killing it with fire.
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Pansexual, although he's generally not caught flirting anywhere near his friends. (Once again, Pepper) he still does it though, mind you.
Role: Devil May Care
Appearance:
Personality: Lockwhyle is the one that talks under his breath about everyone and everything around him, even if no one is listening. He rarely says anything too loud, charisma isn't his specialty. He leaves that to Pepper.
All the while, he is a trouble maker. In school, he'd cause problems all the time and never get caught. He likes to call himself a sort of "smooth criminal".
Lockwhyle doesn't mutter all the time. A majority of the time, actually, he's listening. Not in a very good way though. Just creeping around, picking up bits and pieces of conversations that don't concern him.
Still, he and Pepper bond over the fact that drunk and up too late are synonymous in their brain's catalogue of words. Please, proceed with caution. Although with him, it's only around people he trusts and no one else, he can control himself.
Flaws: His creepiness really plays a part in everything that's wrong with him. Lockwhyle tends to creep in places where he certainly doesn't belong. This has gotten him into a bit of deep water before, although Pepper has always been there to fish him out.
That leads to the next thing. Lockwhyle relies on little Pepper a little too much. She really is his life, knew to some degree, keeping him almost sane.
His secretive nature is a key ingredient to most of the arguments he gets into. People always are getting mad at him for not telling them where he is or what he's doing. He could disappear for nights on end and come back perfectly fine, concerning an awful lot of people all at once.
Fears: Lockwhyle is terrified of one day going to prison. The concept terrifies him, but not really enough to keep him out of his shenanigans.
Lockwhyle, like Pepper, doesn't want to loose his best friend. They've shared that mutual terror for ages, and if one goes down, both go down. It's an unspoken pact between them. All or nothing.
He also has a fairly irrational fear of stepping on sidewalk cracks. Not because he's afraid for his mother or anything, he knows she's perfectly alright dealing with herself, they just look so ominous down there with their empty moss-ness.
Hobbies/interests: Lockwhyle's biggest interest at all times is probably making the dough. He's got to survive somehow, and money is they key to doing it, however bad that might sound. He and Pepper laugh about it an awful lot.
One of the things Lockwhyle very much enjoys is running. He's not exactly professionally trained or anything, he just has an infatuation with the way it makes him feel.
Lockwhyle has a particular place for long conversations with people he likes. The more he knows the better. Pepper is usually the provider of conversations to Lockwhyle. He doesn't get out of his little bubble all that much.
Likes: The moments when it's alright to just have fun. Back when they were in school, Lockwhyle and Pepper happened to have some sort of odd government class together. They had some weird court case in which Lockwhyle had supposedly murdered his wife, Pepper. He had to hold in his laughs while claiming innocence while Pepper made weird those noises from the sidelines. Those were days never to be forgotten.
Besides is obvious affection for Pepper, Lockwhyle likes succulents. Cacti are his best friend. Although he does have a great talent in killing them. Waters them too much, that's it.
Books are a best friend to this kid. Especially mysteries. He says they develop his brain skills, a great thing to have. He likes reading them dramatically when Pepper to no one is around. His Sherlock Holmes voice could use some work, might I add.
Dislikes: He hates being misunderstood. Sadly, being Mr. Jaren Lockwhyle, that happens quite a lot. With Pepper's father, for example. He's shaken that off by now though.
Lockwhyle happens to be a very difficult name to spell and pronounce. At least in school it was. It was spelled from LocWill to Lockwile to Luckwhile and basically everything in between. It's hard to even imagine all the fantastic ways it was pronounced. I'm plain terms, he hated it. Still, everyone called him Lockwhyle (or really not) I'm fear of him stabbing them while they sleep.
Backstory: Lockwhyle grew up in a city where people lock their doors. His parents, already with three kids, gladly welcomed Jaren and Julia, their adopted children, to the family. Lockwhyle's real parents, he never met. His sister, Julia, was related to him my blood. They were very close growing up and still phone and write each other. According to him, she reminds him of Pepper and vice versa.
Feeling the need to be unique, Lockwhyle started acting up undercover in middle school. He was never caught, always it was blamed on someone who wasn't him. He was masterful in this art, eventually leaving that school as a teacher's favorite in many classes.
In was in high school when he first met Pepper. According to him, they clicked instantly. "Our cleverness was simply identical." He would say. Pepper would agree and laugh that charming laugh of hers. Things had always been looking up for this kid, even if he grew up in the big city.
Thoughts on the Casino: He's ready for it as long as Pepper's there. That's all he really cares about in the long run , poor kid.
Quote: (To be mumbled under the breath) "Well I guess you'll have to fight me."
