10 years and 5 weeks later

The water and I were one as I begged it to push me forward.

Everything in me rang with anticipation as I surfaced above the pool for a fraction of a second, hurtling towards the finish like with everything I am.

The world buzzed, blurring away until I heard my name. Until I heard my wife call my name.

'And this years Olympic swimming champion!! Percy Jackson everyone!!" the announcer cried a few seconds later.

I exhaled, throwing off my cap and goggles. Getting off the the adrenaline high.

I was physically exhausted.

Nothing felt real right now.....all my dreams....maybe this was a dream?

My mind went blank for a minute.

Until I was pulled back into reality

"Percy!!! Ahhh!! Congratulations!! Wayy to gooo!!" I heard Annabeth's voice scream, the only sound which broke through the white noise that rang in my head.

When I saw her cheering for me, the American flag high above her as she called my name over and over, tears of joy streaming down her face.....I realised.

I won

Holy Crap I won

No way I won!!!

"Annabeth! I did it!" I laughed, jerking out of my head as I screamed on top of my lungs, "I won! for America!" I cheered, jumping to my feet.

The the crowd roared to life all around me, the thrill of winning rang in my veins, filling me with excitement.

The next few hours were a blur.

I remember someone helped me get dressed after I had a hot bath, and I was handed the gold medal in front of the press.

"Hi mom!" I waved into the camera, "hi Estelle! Ty! Paul!" I waved to the media.

I saw the crowd of paparazzi stir in front of me, and from then, running towards me, Annabeth appeared.

I extended my arms to her as she barrelled into me, tears flying from her face.

"I love you I love you I love you so much!" she cried, kissing me hard and long, "congratulations Percy!! I knew you could do it!!"

"Thankyou wise girl," I said, crying into her hair as I held her tightly, inhaling her familiar scent.

"I...I wanted to tell you this after you won....but I couldn't wait," she said, shuffling for something in her bag.

She handed me a white parchement, "I....I know we wanted to wait until after you won, but I guess she was too excited to wait."

"What?" I asked, flipping over the card.

"Annabeth....I...." I gasped, staring at the ultrasound, "I don't know what to say...."

"I hope you're happy..." she replied, biting her lip in anticipation.

"Happy? You made me the happiest man on the planet!" I laughed, picking her up and spinning her around, "when did you find out?"

"I found out a while back....I'm due in five months," she laughed, wrapping her arms tighter around me, kissing my temple.

"You just made me feel like a winner," I laughed, grabbing her face and kissing her lips.

I could hear the crowd cheer in the distance...but nothing mattered to me right now but my wife, my child and victory.

"You make me feel like a winner everyday," I whispered to her, wrapping my arms around her tightly, "I love you....so so much."

I could feel the tears of joy run down my my cheeks, the world blurring around me as I held onto my wife.

"I love you too Percy," she whispered, "you're my whole heart."
