Going Home
"We should check the dragon eye and see if it has any more information," Hiccup said, interrupting the squabbling.
Emma shifted to her dragon form, swishing her tail. "What's the dragon eye?"
Colyn sighed, adjusting his glasses again. "She asked what the dragon eye is."
Hiccup disappeared inside one of the houses, coming back out with a tube-like thingy. "This is the dragon eye. Emma, can you prepare to shoot fire, then hold it there?"
Emma frowned, but opened her mouth, holding the fire inside her throat. She didn't quite have the control she normally had, but it was to be expected. The light from the flames contained deep in her throat shone through the weird tube thing, showing the symbol Emma had on the chest of her uniform. A circle, split in half horizontally by a line, the top with what looked more like sunbeams, the bottom being more like it was exploding.
"What's that symbol mean?" Hiccup asked, tilting his head.
"It's Emma's symbol," Colyn replied distractedly. "Is there a way to adjust this to show information? I'm guessing it has information on us."
"Can't you just tell us?" Hiccup asked.
'Well, assuming people like us have been here before, they would know what to do in the event of this sort of thing happening. That Dragon Eye could hold the answers to us going home.' Emma said, telepathically projecting to everyone. 'No, I am not speaking out loud. I am speaking telepathically. Stop looking around for my voice Fishlegs. It's coming from inside your mind. After all, sound is just your brain's interpretation of sound waves. My telepathy is activating the sound receptors in your brain so you can 'hear' my voice.'
"I have no idea what you just said," Snotlout admitted, sulking.
'Sorry. Either way, just know that you will not find where my voice is coming from.'
"Does she do this a lot?" Hiccup asked Secilia, amazed.
Secilia shrugged. "Sometimes. When she's not in earshot of someone. Or if there's a language barrier like now."
Hiccup shrugged a bit, then messed with the dragon eye, causing information to be displayed on the wall.
Colyn frowned at it. "I have no idea how to read that."
Secilia shrugged, equally helpless.
"I don't..." Hiccup paused, looking closer at the image. "Ah, I see now. Mentions something about very powerful people turning into dragons. And something about levels of magic present in the person."
'So, we have to use a lot of the magic present inside of us?' Emma asked.
"Sounds like it. Makes sense, after all, I don't have the magic reserves that you two do," Secilia agreed. "Something about this place does suppress some magic. I'd say you two currently have the same amount of magic that I usually have at home."
"So, Naruto would probably be turned into a dragon. He's got even higher chakra levels then Emma and I do," Colyn added.
"Probably. Alright, let me stick these sensors on you, and we'll monitor the exact level of magic or chakra needed to change into a dragon." Emma shifted to her humanoid form, the fire disappearing. She allowed Secilia to stick a dragon sticker to her forehead, and Colyn did the same.
"Secilia, why did you give us dragon stickers?" Colyn asked, amused.
"Evelyn. She thought it would be amusing, apparently." Secilia rolled her eyes, tapping on her cuff. "Alright. We might want to figure out a way for Colyn to get rid of his reserves quickly and without too much damage. Snotlout, would you like to help Emma?" Secilia had a mischevious grin on her face, and Hiccup almost said something, but he was quickly silenced with a look.
"Anything for the pretty lady," Snotlout said, apparently attempting to move forward to kiss her hand. Emma mind-controlled him into walking off the side of the building instead. Of course, Hookfang went and saved his rider, but that's beside the point.
Emma sighed, thinking hard. "Hey, Colyn, why don't you and Toothless go play a game of tag? That should prove interesting enough. I'll mind-control this guy off the edge a few times, or maybe see if one of the dragons would be willing to help. When I'm tired enough, I'll come and grab you, and we can leave."
"Alright gang, we have stuff to do, so we'll have to leave them to it," Hiccup announced.
They all muttered half-hearted goodbyes, wandering off. Except for Snotlout, who wasn't anywhere to be seen. The dragons were a bit more enthusiastic, but most followed their riders off. Stormfly remained behind, settling down and watching Colyn figure out how to fly.
In his defense, he'd never flown with wings before. He wasn't terrible, but it would be a while before he could dart through the sky like Toothless could.
Emma managed to mind-control Snotlout into walking off the edge one more time, then nearly collapsed, shifting to her Zoxaen appearance.
"All right, you're down low enough now. We have to hurry," Secilia said, watching her cuff.
Emma nodded, putting a hand in the air and shooting a blast of fire up. Colyn noticed, and flew over, landing clumsily. "We good to go?" He asked.
Emma nodded and went over to lean on him.
Secilia nodded to Hiccup, who'd just landed. "Perhaps we'll see you again. Maybe."
Hiccup nodded to them, and Toothless did the same. Stormfly opted for what almost looked like a bow.
"It was an honor to meet you," Stormfly said.
"I wanna know how you know them," Toothless muttered.
"I'll tell you tonight," Stormfly promised.
Secilia went over to stand next to Emma, placing a hand on her shoulder.
Emma managed a tired grin. "See you!" With that, they disappeared, teleporting back to the Fantasyverse house.
(A/N) Admittedly, that was more of a one-shot, but oh well. Bye!
