99- Human Date

A few interviews were set in the omega town while others were done through video calls. Originally, it was planned to take interviews personally. However with limitations to the travel for Hritika and Nihal and others not being able to travel in their busy lives, this was what they decided at the end.

Nihal and Yara were the ones who went out to take the interviews. It was a long day as there were so many interviews to be taken one after the other. They selected a single cafe to speak with everyone but at different times so each person could get their own space to talk.

"Whoa! You have grown up so much Nihal. And who's the beautiful lady?" Hritika's friend asked Nihal. They knew Nihal since the days when Hritika found him annoying and it had been so long since then.

"My girlfriend," Nihal answered, side-hugging Yara. It felt different to say girlfriend now when he had got accustomed to the term 'mate'. However, he couldn't use that in front of other humans.

Yara was also pleasantly surprised hearing girlfriend from his mouth. It was new but it still held the same warmth.

The meetings were going well, but Nihal didn't fail to notice that Yara was trying too hard to stay still. She was getting agitated and it was taking every ounce of her will to keep smiling. She didn't want to seem rude to the guests and hence, she forced herself to remain calm.

"I will be back," she announced, when it became impossible for her.

Nihal mouthed,"okay?" in concern. She just nodded and hurriedly left towards the washroom. And that turned out to be the worst decision. What she needed wasn't a closed room but open air. Her breaths became uneven as her head splitted open in pain.

The last time she had come here with Vivaan, they were fortunate to have the meeting in the park. The noisy cafe, away from nature, was making her and Sachi go crazy.

As time passed by, Nihal got worried when Yara didn't come out.

"Give me a minute," Nihal said, and was about to stand up when a commotion was heard.

A girl came running out of the washroom and looked for the staff, "One girl has fallen unconscious inside," she yelled in panic.

It didn't take Nihal a second to realize that it must have been Yara. He rushed towards the ladies washroom, not caring what others thought of him.

"Yara, Yara." He patted her cheeks, took some water from the tap to sprinkle on her face.

Yara's eyes blinked as she slowly tried to wake up. Nihal immediately took her in a hug.

"You scared the hell out of me," he whispered after he confirmed that she was okay. Seeing her lying unconscious on the floor had made him lose his senses.

"Should I call a doctor?" Hritika's friend asked.

"No, I am fine," Yara refused immediately, trying to sit up properly. It would cause a huge uproar if a human doctor tried to diagnose her.

"I will take her to the doctor, don't worry," Nihal rectified, to not cause any suspicion.

He picked up Yara in his arms, and got out of the washroom.

"I can walk," Yara whisper-yelled, embarrassed by the onlookers.

"Shut up," he said sternly. He was more angry at himself than at Yara.

"Sorry, but we will have to postpone the interview," Nihal apologized.

"No, there's no need. I am fine now, we can continue." Yara insisted. It was hard to get everyone's schedule matched. They cannot let go of this opportunity.

"Young lady, your health is more important. Don't worry, we will have this meeting again and that too soon." Hritika's friend left after that.

Nihal didn't waste time and directly left for the pack.

"We left our home behind," Yara said to the idiot who was still carrying her.

"I know, we are going to the pack doctor," Nihal answered, grunting as he adjusted Yara on his arms.

"We don't need to. See, I am back to my usual self. I am seriously fine now, stop worrying," Yara said. However, her words reached to deaf ears as Nihal didn't listen to her until the pack doctor confirmed that she was fine.

"She is okay. It is just hard for us werewolves to survive in human civilization, especially when the wolf is of a higher rank," the pack doctor comforted Nihal, before giving some medicines to Yara for future use.

"They might not entirely help you, but you won't fall unconscious if you have these medicines."

'She is never going back to the town,' Nihal spoke to himself.

"Let me know if you have stronger medicines," Yara asked the doctor, knowing she would need a stronger dose when she went on a date with Nihal.

Yara didn't want to ruin the date Nihal had been planning for so long. She didn't know what it was but she was sure that it was a date that humans had, which meant going back to human civilization.

She wasn't wrong in her thinking. Nihal had been planning such a date. But what she didn't know was that Nihal had already scratched all his ideas when he saw her trying hard to remain calm. And her falling unconscious was the final nail in the coffin.

His wish to have a human date wasn't more important than Yara's health. And hence he immediately called Vivaan after making Yara sleep.

"Can I use your and Yara's spot for our date tomorrow?" Nihal asked immediately, not beating around the bush and got the answer in the very same manner too.

"NO."

"Geez, there's no need to yell," Nihal said, rubbing his ears. "At least think about it before rejecting the idea."

"No, absolutely no," Vivaan said firmly. "It is our sacred spot. One date and it will turn into your spot. Find some other place."

"Argh! Then help me find some nice place."

"Nah! Your date, your problem."

Nihal threw his hands up in the air. All his brilliant ideas were already scraped. He had to start from the very beginning and his buffoon of the brother was also of no help.

"The least I can do is to keep Yara busy while you prepare," Vivaan said after a second.

"Thank you so much for your help. Although it is not a help. The least you are doing is because you are missing Yara and not to help me."

"True," Vivaan laughed, before cutting the call. He didn't have time to talk when he was going to be busy making plans to enjoy his day with his best friend.
