80- Breaking Point

Everyone stopped talking as they noticed Alpha Aarjav's glazed eyes. His expression looked troubled, thus causing a sombre atmosphere.

"What's wrong?" Luna Mahira asked as soon as he closed his mind-link.

"We need to hurry with Vivaan's coronation. After thoroughly interrogating the rogues, those bastards finally blurted out the truth. As we feared, the news of the girls being alone in the pack was spread around. If we hadn't been informed on the time then, then—"

Alpha was too disgusted by the fact that he couldn't even complete that vile sentence. Vivaan took hold of Rehyaa's hand, which was resting on her lap, silently comforting her as she too was shaken up by the news.

"These rogues are going to curse the day they decided to even think of harming the young girls. Let's go, Alpha. We need to put them in place." Gamma spoke, tightening his fists.

Alpha stood up too while shaking his head at Luna who was about to stand up. He gestured towards Rehyaa's shaking form with his eyes, making Luna Mahira understand that she was needed here. She nodded in understanding and sat back down.

The two rogues were made to kneel on the cold floor of the dungeons, with their hands tied up. Two warriors were standing behind them on guard as Beta interrogated them.

The rogues head snapped up the moment, Alpha and Gamma opened the gates of dungeon.

"Is this Alpha Jaipal's pack?" one of them asked in hope.

"It is, how can we forget his scent. It's Alpha Jaipal's pack," the other one exclaimed happily, raising his head up with confidence, which was soon made to forcefully stay down by the warrior.

"You all are going to regret treating us like this. Beating us, making us stay in this cold gray room without a single rug; all this is going to work against you," the first rogue boasted with confidence.

Beta was now intrigued and thus mind-linked Alpha Aarjav to not come in until he had found out a few answers.

"How do you know the Alpha?" Beta asked, faking a slightly scared act.

"Look whose trembling now," the other rogue taunted after spitting out the blood.

"Oh! It's going to be so much fun when your Alpha finds out that you mishandled the people he had once entrusted with such a huge responsibility."

"What do you know about his son?" Beta asked so that he could be aware on how much they could manipulate the situation.

The rogues looked confused at the mention of Alpha Jaipal's son. "Why do you ask?" one of them inquired.

"Alpha, there's a huge chance that these were the rogues involved with spying on your human wife. Fortunately, they don't know about you but they don't even seem to know about your father's whereabouts either."

As soon as Alpha received Beta's mind-link, he entered the scene.

"He was asking because my father won't be able to meet you until tomorrow and I had some work for you." Alpha clarified, while walking inside the room.

The two rogues looked at each other with shining eyes. They turned back towards Alpha, suddenly becoming too polite.

"We are the best in our work. Your father was really impressed with us, last time." They tried really hard so that the Alpha would choose them.

Alpha Aarjav gestured the warriors to untie them and leave, before moving to sit on the chair in front of them.

"Sorry, couldn't speak in front of them. By chance, are you talking about the time my father asked you to keep an eye on humans?" Alpha threw out the bait.

Forget looking shocked, the rogues didn't even bat an eyelash. "Yes, yes, we were the ones who did that work along with some of our friends. Has any other human managed to piss you off? Let us know and we will take care of them."

"Ah! Yes. Something along the lines." Alpha lied.

"You look excited. Did you enjoy the work so much?" Alpha asked barely managing to control himself from killing them right there.

"Not really. The city's pollution and those loud noises, argh. It was really troublesome. Not to forget the time when I had bitten that kid. My ears hurt for a long time because of his wailings. But the reward was far greater and for that I am ready to do that all over again," the first one said, rubbing his ear at the remembrance.

Alpha gulped down his anger and managed to speak out the next words with great difficulty. "Were you also the one who killed the two humans?"

"Oh No! It was the other guy. We can contact him if you need him," the other guy answered.

"Sure, do call him. In fact, call everyone that was involved. I need the work to be done with same efficiency. You already know that you will be handsomely paid by us."

Receiving an over energetic nod from the rogues, he stood up. "Make sure to treat our guests properly," Alpha ordered before leaving the room.

Closing the iron door of dungeon with a loud thud, Alpha fell on his knees, heaving badly. Only he knew how he managed to maintain his composure back there when all he wanted to go on a rampage. Meeting with these rogues brought Alpha Aarjav to his breaking point as the pain surrounded him from all sides.
