7- Problem

Vivaan ran his fingers through his hair, frustrated by the fact that he was again called to the Alpha's office.

Having already reported everything about the town in the morning, he didn't see the need to be called again that too in such a hurry. He skipped a few steps while descending down the stairs to reach earlier.

His forehead scrunched up as he smelled his Mother, Beta, Gamma and Yara from outside. Concern took over the earlier irritation. Something big must have happened for all of them to gather here.

Knocking lightly, he entered inside. They all were standing around the desk with tensed faces .

He went and stood between Yara and his Mother as he faced Alpha with Beta and Gamma flanking to his left and right respectively.

"What's wrong?" He asked, looking at their worried expressions.

He turned towards Yara, who slightly shook her head, not knowing the reason behind this meeting either.

"Are you sure that there was no problem in the town? Because Gamma received some other news," Alpha asked with raised eyebrows.

Vivaan and Yara looked at each other with bafflement.

"Other than the minor problems, there was nothing else," Vivaan answered but he wasn't confident this time, knowing that something major had gone wrong for Alpha to question this.

"Well, not one but two problems have come up. Second problem is much more major but let's start with the order," Gamma announced in a disappointed tone.

"Omegas were stunned when they smelled Alpha's scent on a human girl. Although the scent was faint, they were shocked but later when you went there with Yara, the omegas thought that you must have clashed with that girl thus transmitting some of your scent. Hence, they were at little ease," Beta informed them about the first problem.

"That's not possible. Omega senses aren't that powerful. There's no way they could smell Vivaan's scent on that girl just because he had clashed with her," Luna spoke with worry.

"She is right. Although the Omegas were at ease thinking that was the reason, there's no way this could have happened," Alpha agreed, his face turning red with frustration.

"The hoodie girl," Yara mumbled slowly but it was heard by everyone.

"Who?" Luna asked with a raised eyebrow.

Vivaan palmed his face upon realizing who Yara was pointing at.

"But you said that you smelled a unique scent from her. These guys are talking about my or Alpha's similar scent," Vivaan questioned, internally praying that it was some other girl or he was going to get into trouble.

"What unique scent? And why weren't we informed about that?" Alpha questioned in a hurried tone.

"I smelled a unique scent on the girl we had an encounter with. But it wasn't her scent. The unique scent was coming from the hoodie she was wearing. We didn't inform you as Vivaan wasn't able to smell anything different from that girl and we concluded it to be my delusion," Yara answered, her hands trembling.

Fear was running through her veins, knowing that they had made a huge mistake that night. She shouldn't have let that girl go before proper enquiry was done.

"Great. Just great. That's why there are no female Betas. One work, one work was given yet you couldn't do it properly," Gamma banged his fists on the desk.

Yara bowed her head in shame. She wasn't bothered by the scolding but her father was also listening and that caused her immense pain.

"She did her job correctly. If a Beta finds something unusual then his/her job is to inform Alpha. As she is future Beta, she informed future Alpha about the abnormality. It was Vivaan's fault for not doing anything about the matter," Alpha spoke with a straight face.

Luna's fists tightened as she heard him look down on her son.

"It wasn't his fault. Omegas said that they could sense Alpha's scent on that girl. How was he supposed to distinguish between his own scent? I don't know why Yara smelled something unique but Vivaan must have smelled what other Omegas did and would have thought it was his own smell," Luna retorted, barely managing her composure.

Heaving a sigh, Alpha turned towards Vivaan. "You need to check everything thoroughly when someone says there is anything different from usual even if you can't find any problem yourself. Make sure this mistake doesn't happen again," Alpha spoke, looking at him keenly.

"Yes Alpha," Vivaan answered with a straight face.

There was no sign of embarrassment on his face, even though he was belittled in front of everybody.

"Well if you men are done with pointing fingers at the kids, let's talk about the major problem now," Luna taunted.

The sharp eyes displaying disappointment caused the current Beta and Gamma to bow down their head in shame while Alpha just shook his head.

"The girl had a faint scent of Alpha but another human came to the town today," Beta started to relay.

Vivaan's eyebrows furrowed, not understanding what was going on but when Alpha completed what Beta was trying to say, ground shook beneath his feet.

"A human whose scent compelled the Omega's to bow down to him. The same scent that you and I carry."
