66- Your Wish, my Command
Hritika mirrored the glare Luna gave to Alpha, astonished by his lack of emotions towards his son.
"Hritika?" Vivaan called out while kneeling down so that they were at equal heights.
He made sure to maintain some space so as to not get infected by the silver.
"Hritika, it's important for me to go. I know Nihal is helping out there but one person isn't enough," Vivaan explained his ordeal.
Abhinav, a pack member who was on his way to get on the first floor to take a shower stopped and turned hearing Vivaan's plea, and said, "Future Alpha is right. Nihal alone would not be able to help everyone. He is already getting tired."
"Tired? So soon? He has not even brought a single member," Gamma huffed.
"He has made more than ten rounds till now. How do you think we got these windcheaters?" Abhinav retorted, picking at his windcheater as a reference.
"Abhinav is right. If Nihal didn't find us, we would have gone inside the forest instead of coming out. He guided us until the pack house came into the view. We only assured him that we would be able to go individually after that and hence he went back to the forest. That might be the reason, you didn't see him," another pack member who was getting doused with water at the porch, added.
Hearing them, everyone was stunned. They had never expected this from Nihal.
"I am really grateful for what Nihal has done for us, Hritika. But as the pack members informed, he is getting tired. He will need assistance and for that, I need your help," Vivaan said, looking at her hopefully.
"Cover every inch of your body with plastic or something that is a substitute to it. Even if you might get burns, I need a guarantee that you will come back alive. Unless and until you promise me, I won't help you," Hritika answered adamantly.
A soft small smile was seen on Vivaan's lips upon hearing her. Though she seemed demanding with her tone filled with an air of arrogance, it was clear that she was putting up a strong act, hiding her worries.
"I promise," saying that Vivaan forwarded his phone to her and stood up to get ready.
As her legs had given up, Hritika didn't bother standing and just turned her body sideways towards Beta and Gamma.
"Can you please help me wash my hands? I need to get rid of the silver before touching Vivaan's phone." she requested.
Beta nodded and helped her wash her hands with the hose and even provided a dry napkin.
Washing her hands, she quickly picked up Vivaan's mobile and started the Maps.
Vivaan too hurried and came down as soon as he could. Hritika finally managed to stand up and went near him.
"Look here, while trying to come back, press this button and the arrow will start showing you the way." Hritika showed Vivaan how to use the feature, while managing to stand a little away from him.
Vivaan attentively listened to her instructions and was just above to leave when Hritika received Nihal's call.
"Hritika, There are three wolves who are in a bad condition. One of them has even lost consciousness. They won't be able to walk back. For now, I have covered them with plastic but it won't help much. I need something that could help me carry the wolves." Nihal spoke as soon as she picked up her call.
He had to yell so that Hritika would hear him admist the sound of the rain.
"I will try my best to come up with something. Send me your location," Hritika said before hanging up the call.
"You wouldn't have a car, right?" Hritika asked in a resigned tone after explaining them the situation.
"We have two cars in the pack but it won't be of any use. We won't be able to drive inside the forest as the trails are quite narrow," Yara answered in a dejected tone.
While trying to think of a possible solution, Alpha's eyes moved towards the stretcher, they had kept to move the pack members who were affected too badly to be able to walk.
"What about the stretchers? We can use them to wheel the pack members." He suggested.
"That's a nice idea but we don't have much stretchers and we need them here or else the pack members will get infected while trying to transport the patients. However, we can use the vegetable cart." Luna adviced.
"Hritika, feed Nihal's location on my mobile. I will take the cart and go." Vivaan spoke.
"But then how will you come back?" Yara queried.
"Nihal can help you to put the location but it would be harder to do so in this rain," Hritika mumbled, thinking over the possibility.
"Here take my mobile. In one phone, put Nihal's location and in other the way to come back," Alpha said, forwarding his phone.
Hritika nodded and did as she was asked.
"Alright, Alpha's phone has the map that would help you reach Nihal and your phone will get you back towards the pack. Try using the map and show me if you understand how to use it properly," Hritika said and watched as Vivaan got the hang of the device.
"I have contacted the pack member who has the vegetable cart. He has kept it ready, just take it from the porch of his house before going to forest," Beta said.
Nodding at him, Vivaan left.
"If we cover ourselves, we all can go to help," Luna said thoughtfully.
"Hritika, will you help us with the mobiles?" Luna further asked and smiled when she received a positive response.
"We don't have any other carts," Alpha said, destroying Luna's hope.
Luna sighed, rubbing her forehead in distress.
"How about the office chairs? They might carry only one person but still something is better than nothing." Yara suggested.
Everyone jumped at the suddenness of it but soon calmed down.
"The chairs? You want us to lift the wooden chairs along with the members?" Gamma asked incredulously.
"Not the ones meant for guests. The chairs used by you, Dad and Alpha. The ones with wheels," Yara explained with an eye roll.
"That can work and we can also use the stools used in beauty parlours," Luna exclaimed happily.
"Okay then, we will assign someone else the duty to spray the water on infected pack members and go," Beta said.
"I will also come with you." Yara declared and was rudely shut down by Gamma.
"Most of the pack members stuck in the forest would be the buff guards and warriors. Did you forget that you are a woman? How are you going to lift such strong men?"
Yara looked at him dead in the eye. "You are highly mistaking my strength, Gamma. If I want, I can easily overpower you. Do you want a demo?" She spoke confidently.
"This is not the time to fight. Let's hurry," Luna said, breaking the fight before it could start.
Making a face at Gamma, Yara went near Hritika and gave her mobile.
"Don't know about others, but I am surely interested to see the demo," Hritika whispered to Yara.
"Your wish, my command," Yara replied with a smirk.
Both the girls looked at each other before bursting into chuckles.
