60- It's okay to be a little Selfish
Acquiring fresh bruises before the previous one's got the time to heal, was the reason behind Vivaan's poor health condition. Even with the strong immunity, his body needed sometime to recover which he didn't receive. Now that Vivaan had stopped training, his wounds started healing at a rapid pace.
Although his bruises still needed time to fade, his strength had returned to a great extent and thus he was packing away his things to move back to his original room.
He got out of his room with his bag, hanging on his shoulder and saw Hritika getting out of her room too.
"Did you come here to bid me farewell?" Vivaan asked cheekily.
"You wish." Hritika rolled her eyes.
"Deny all you want but I know you are going to miss this awesome neighbour of yours," Vivaan said, pointing towards himself.
"Yeah sure, sure. Believe it, if that makes you sleep at night." Hritika spoke offhandedly.
Vivaan was going to retort but stopped when he saw the bags stacked on the corner of Hritika's room.
"What's up with the bags? Another meeting?" Vivaan questioned with a cute frown on his face.
"Yara didn't tell you? Our house got ready, so we will be shifting today." Hritika informed, shocked that this news didn't reach him.
"Oh yeah! She had informed me that house was built but I didn't realize that you would be moving out soon," Vivaan answered, trying his best to keep disappointment away from his voice.
He didn't even realize until now but the everyday bickerings and debate about topics had made a special bond between them. Now that, she was leaving, realization fell upon him like a truck of bricks.
"Vivaaann, Man it's good to see you all healthy now. Everyone was so depressed seeing you in a bad condition." Rahul over dramatically hugged Vivaan as soon as he came out of his room.
Vivaan awkwardly patted Rahul's back and stepped away from him.
"Where's your brother, human?" Rahul asked with a tone of arrogance.
"With Yara, of course," Vivaan replied before Hritika could punch him.
Looking at her closed fists, it was clear that she hated Rahul's arrogance as much as Vivaan and Yara did.
"Really? I thought that after the 'one month' period would get over, Nihal wouldn't waste a single minute before detaching himself from her," Rahul muttered in surprise.
"Rahul, everyone's is waiting for you. Come fast." One of his friend shouted from the other end of the corridor, not before bowing his head towards Vivaan.
"Ah! I am getting late. Bye." Rahul left after waving to Vivaan, totally ignoring Hritika's presence.
"What a tool!!" Hritika muttered, looking at his back.
"Nihal doesn't need to be with Yara now then what's the use of the house," Vivaan mumbled to himself.
"Huh?" Hritika looked up at him.
"Yara must have forgotten about the time period of building this house and the time where she needed to be with Nihal 24/7 but you...there's no way possible that you didn't make that calculation before," Vivaan said, looking at her keenly.
Hritika looked here and there for a few seconds but sighed as Vivaan's gaze didn't waver away from her.
"Honestly, I knew about this fact the moment Yara spoke about building a house rather than buying it," Hritika muttered, looking down at her feet.
"I did it for myself. Living here seemed like living in a hotel. I wanted the comfort of a home. Moreover, I was somehow a guest here unlike Nihal who was Alpha's son. And a guest is only welcomed for a few days before they start becoming a nuisance. Nihal and Yara don't know it but the decision of building a house wasn't for them. It was my selfish decision," she replied truthfully , waiting for his harsh words.
But instead of that, she heard the warmest and most understanding words ever.
"It's okay to be a little selfish. It's okay to think about yourself. I would like to argue and say that this pack house is your home too but these words would be meaningless if you never felt the warmth here. Hritika, Nihal may be a major part of your life but you are your own person too."
A big smile perched upon Hritika's face. She didn't need to convey how grateful she was for his reassurance as her face showed it clearly.
"Sooo, now emotional talks aside, are you going to call me for the housewarning party?" Vivaan asked. clasping his hands in excitement.
"Housewarning?" Hritika asked, looking confused.
"Yes, Yara told me that humans have those parties when they move to a new house. They call their relatives, friends and old neighbours and have fun," Vivaan explained with furrowed eyebrows, not getting why Hritika didn't understand the term. According to Yara, that was a common practice between humans then why did Hritika looked confused?
"You meant housewarming?" Hritika chuckled at his silly mistake.
Vivaan scratched behind his neck in embarrassment.
"Oops "
"It's fine, I mix up the werewolf terms many a times too." Hritika assured him so that he didn't feel too embarrassed.
Vivaan breathed out, letting go his awkwardness and again got into a playful mood.
"I need two invitations. As Yara's best friend and as your neighbour," Vivaan said cheekily.
Hritika snorted, amused by his childishness. It was a rare sight for her as Vivaan always seemed too mature for his age.
"Sure sure, get two invitations and bring two gifts too." Hritika responded with a playful smile.
"Greedy." Vivaan taunted.
"By the way, how does Yara know all this stuff?" Hritika queried.
"Who else will tell her? This knowledge comes from your brother " Vivaan replied with a huff.
"He is your brother too," Hritika said quietly.
"He is your brother more. Blood doesn't matter, we have nothing in common nor are we close." Vivaan grunted.
"You are more alike than you would like."
"How so? Do tell me," Vivaan said, folding his hands, looking so sure that she was bluffing.
"Your behaviour. Well, you haven't seen him like that but Nihal was just as playful and annoying as you. We fought and bickered more than having casual talks. All these has stopped after he met Uncle. And also the fact that both of your names have a same meaning - Joy."
"Someone called me," Joy woke up from his nap as he heard his name.
"She was talking about the meaning about my name, idiot." Vivaan shut him down.
"Where were you lost?" Hritika asked, moving her hand in front of his face.
"Sorry, I was talking with Joy. He perked up upon hearing his name." Vivaan apologized with a chuckle.
"What a coincidence!! Your and Nihal's name means Joy and your wolf's name is Joy too. I wonder if it was done purposefully."
"I am only your wolf, Vivaan. Tell her to not join me with that half brother." Joy huffed.
Both Vivaan and Hritika had a great laugh once Vivaan informed her about Joy's pocessiveness.
