57- Meeting Sachi

As Yara and Nihal reached the place, they saw Vivaan already sitting there, leaning against a tree.

Nihal visibly winced seeing Vivaan's face. His face and hands were covered with light and dark bruises. Nihal was sure that there were many others hidden behind his clothes.

"I know you can't tell me the exact reason but this is too much. Is he being abused?" Nihal asked Yara in a whisper, forgetting that Vivaan had super hearing senses.

"Thanks for the concern but you can relax, no one is harming me. Next time if you want to ask about me then ask me directly," Vivaan replied as he stood up from the ground.

Yara moved swiftly to help Vivaan as he lost his balance midway.

Vivaan thanked her, masking his embarrassment from Nihal.

Yara soon went a little further to shift, leaving the two brothers behind.

Vivaan looked amused as he saw nervousness on Nihal's face while Nihal was trying his best to encourage himself mentally.

'It's okay. Everything is going to be okay. You have already faced werewolves twice no thrice,' he thought to himself as he remembered that he was once bitten by the werewolf too.

The little courage he had gathered disappeared as he realized that two of his three encounters with werewolves, resulted in them trying to harm him.

A loud snap, followed by Yara's cry brought him out of the thoughts. Before he could understand, Vivaan was already running towards Yara's direction.

"I am okay," Yara shouted, making Vivaan stop in his tracks.

"Are you sure? You can do this later when you are fully healed," Vivaan advised looking at the tree, behind which Yara was changing.

"Don't worry. Just give me few minutes," came her muffled voice.

Vivaan sighed and turned to return back.

"What?" Vivaan asked as he saw Nihal staring at him intently.

"You ran towards the tree, knowing fully well that Yara could have been naked behind it," Nihal stated.

"Would you really focus on someone's lack of clothes when they are in so much pain?" Vivaan retorted.

Nihal groaned, face palming himself. "You are right. Sorry, I didn't think it through," came out his muffled apology as he spoke under his hands.

"Don't be. Asking you to understand would be a hypocrisy on my part. We, werewolves are the most pocessive creatures who keeps getting jealous at the smallest of things and yet I am expecting you to understand my close friendship with Yara," Vivaan said, kicking the soil on the ground in despair.

"My relationship with Yara is still not at a stage where I would feel jealous. But there's a chance that I might not like your closeness. You both will have to think about not only me but also about your future mate. The newcomers may try their best to understand the closeness between you and Yara but it will be your duty to not let us feel insecure because of it."

Even though it pained him immensely, Vivaan couldn't deny that Nihal was right. So reluctantly, he voiced his agreement and promised to do his best to not cross his boundaries.

Nihal too had to admit that talking with Vivaan erased his anxiety, though he would never tell him that.

A golden brown wolf soon emerged in front of them. The rays of the sun brought a different shine to her fur.

Vivaan sighed in relief, seeing that she was able to shift properly. His happiness turned two-fold as he saw Nihal's condition.

Nihal visibly gulped in fear as he saw her wolf coming forward. He shakily tried to wipe away the sweat that was running down from his hairline. Nihal didn't even realize when he had backed away and clutched Vivaan's forearm for support.

Sachi's abrupt stop and Vivaan's chuckle made him realize his blunder. He immediately removed his hand away, like Vivaan had burned him.

Vivaan toned down his taunts and amusement, the moment he noticed Sachi's dull, sad eyes. He hadn't realized it first but Nihal's backing away in fear had hurted his best friend.

"She is the same Sachi you have talked with before. In this form, she is just more cuddly, nothing else. Go, she is waiting for you." Vivaan encouraged in a quiet comforting voice.

Getting a reassuring nod from Vivaan, Nihal took hesitant steps towards Sachi, who stood still so as to not frighten him more than he already was.

"Pat her head, move hands through her fur...," just like that Vivaan guided Nihal who timidly followed his directions.

It took a lot of willpower for Sachi too not purr in content as her mate caressed her fur.

"Her fur is so soft," Nihal muttered in wonder.

Sachi hesitantly started moving a little, hoping that she wouldn't startle him.

Nihal's hand froze as he felt her move. Although hurt, Sachi knew it wasn't Nihal's fault and decided to move away from him. She had wanted to spend time with him but that didn't mean ignoring her mate's uneasiness. But before she could leave, Nihal resumed caressing her, making Sachi let out a wolf sigh.

Soon they got comfortable and Sachi moved her wolf head on one of his shoulder. Nihal hesitantly wrapped his hands around the back of her head. It was their first proper hug.

Vivaan smiled looking at the pair. Knowing that Nihal was now comfortable and didn't need him, Vivaan silently left from the scene.
