56- Scores of Embarrassment

Two days later

Not many hours had passed since Hritika left for the meeting but Nihal was already sulking.

Yara saw him slouching on his bed as she stood outside his room. Door was already open, so she took a step inside only to take a few steps back.

This happened a few more times before he lost his cool. "Decide at once, whether you want to come inside or not. I already have a headache, don't make it worse."

Yara smiled sheepishly and entered the room after a moment of hesitation.

"Don't worry Hritika will be back soon." She assured him as she moved to stand near him.

"I know that but it doesn't make it any better. You don't know how it feels when everyone keeps looking at you with disgust," Nihal replied with a resigned sigh.

"What are you talking about?" Yara asked concernedly, while taking a seat beside Nihal.

Until now, she thought he was just missing his sister.

"The last time we were in town, everyone kept glaring at us. They might have harmed us if not for the orders bestowed upon them. But back then, we were two. We had each other's back. Right now she is all alone." Nihal vented out his worries.

"Hritika is really strong and she would also have other humans present there with her. I am sure that if something happens, you would be the first person she would call. So relax a bit unless you want Hritika to worry about your health instead of focussing on the meeting."

Nihal narrowed his eyes, daring her to tell Hritika about his worries. Yara stood strong on her point, going as far as to take out her mobile.

"Alright, Alright, I will stop." Nihal surrendered.

Yara ruffled his hairs in glee.

"You came here for another reason, right?" Nihal asked, making Yara gulp.

"Ah! That...actually," she hesitated.

"What is it?" Nihal probed, with a soft smile on his face to let her know that it was okay to speak anything she wanted.

"Well the thing is...actually...umm... Sachiwantstomeetyou." She blurted out after lots of hesitation.

"Okayyy...Now can you tell me this in a normal way so that I can understand." Nihal requested, muffling his laugh.

Yara smiled awkwardly, knowing that she just made a fool out of herself.

"Sachi wants to meet you," she repeated, this time normally.

Nihal's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, not understanding the reason behind Yara's hesitation.

"That's fine. Why are you so nervous?" Nihal asked.

"Nihal, Sachi wants to meet you." she repeated, stretching the word 'meet'.

Nihal nodded slowly, "Oka..."

He stopped short when Yara interjected.

"In her orginal form. She wants to meet you as a wolf."

Now it was Nihal's turn to gulp. There was no way he could have rejected her request when she was looking at him with so much hope.

"Alright, let's try this." He chuckled nervously.

Yara had a huge smile on her face as she clasped her hands with glee.

"I will mind link Vivaan to meet us near our usual place in forest," Yara said, as she stood up.

"Whoa!! Why are we calling him?" Nihal asked flabbergasted.

"We will need his help, just in case something goes wrong," Yara answered in a small voice as she remembered the time when she got stuck mid-shift.

"Can't you ask help from someone else? Like your mom or any other friend." Nihal suggested earnestly.

"Please." Yara made the puppy eye look.

No one else knew about Yara's condition and she wanted to keep it a secret. She wasn't even sure that she would be able to shift today but Sachi desperately wanted to meet her mate.

"Fine." Nihal accepted halfheartedly.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you." Yara chanted as she hugged him in excitement.

Yara closed her eyes in embarrassment and moved out of the hug immediately as soon as she noticed Nihal's rigid body.

"Umm...I...." she faltered in worry but Nihal's small smile relieved her.

"Let's go," Nihal muttered in a slightly low voice, ignoring the matter as of whole.

They walked silently moving through the calm forest, acknowledging the occasional pack member they crossed paths with.

Nihal was awed by the beauty. The setting sun behind the trees just added to the glory. As they walked further, Nihal's awe converted to worry.

"Don't leave me alone here, please. I don't think, I would ever find my way back." Nihal shuddered, just by the thought of getting lost.

"I won't leave you alone, ever. although in case you ever wish to come here alone, you can use GPS to track your way back," Yara said.

"GPS? Will it work here?" Nihal asked moving his hands to show the entire forest.

"Well Alpha was successful in bringing Wifi and many other technologies in the middle of forest then why not GPS. Why are you so surprised? Aren't you handling your business from this forest?"

Yara's words made him feel like an idiot. He rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment.

"So we are on 2-1 score," Yara drawled out, swinging her hands slightly.

"Huh?" Nihal mumbled, confused out of his mind.

"Score of our embarrassment," Yara answered with a tight lipped smile.

"I think I am gonna top in this," Nihal said, in a fake arrogant tone.

"Let's see as right now I am leading," Yara replied in a same tone, playing along.

Their fun banter continued until they reached the place only meant for Vivaan and Yara's use. It wasn't a secret place but from childhood itself no one joined them, maintaining a safe distance from the kids of the leaders. This made the area they usually played on, their own place.
