3- Town
Vivaan was still waiting outside when Yara came out of Alpha's office.
"Why are you still here?" Yara raised an eyebrow.
"What did he say?" Vivaan asked, ignoring Yara's question.
Yara rolled her eyes at his behaviour.
"Do you really need to ask that? You know he is a good Alpha," Yara spoke as they both started descending the stairs together.
"I know. That's why, I was just curious and not afraid of his reaction." It took a lot of energy for Vivaan to speak something good about Alpha Aarjav.
"He just told me to train harder and all that stuff. Now don't fret over it. When do we leave tomorrow? I need to start packing accordingly," Yara asked as they rounded off to the third floor.
"I was thinking that we should leave tonight instead of tomorrow morning. We will have to shift back to humans, near the clearing where the forest ends and the town starts. So, it's better to go at night when we cannot get detected by humans," Vivaan suggested.
They both stopped near Yara's room. Keeping her back towards her closed door, she faced Vivaan.
"I thought that the clearing and forest were off-limits to humans," Yara asked with furrowed eyebrows.
Running a hand through his hairs, Vivaan answered, "Yeah, I know but it's better to be safe than sorry. I don't want to take any risks. Alpha already has little to no trust in me plus this is your first task as a future Beta. We need to do this task perfectly."
Smiling softly at her best friend, Yara nodded. "Alright then. Let's meet later," Yara agreed and went inside her room.
Vivaan too left to make preparations for their work.

While the werewolves were going to start their journey at night, a human had already stepped her foot in that town, unaware how things were going to turn upside down.
True that this town consisted of both weak werewolves and humans. Humans lived peacefully, ignorant of the fact that their colleagues or neighbours were from another species.
A human coming to this town wasn't a problem. The problem was another 'specific human' who was going to follow this girl and enter the town.
The girl roamed around the town, talking with the locals, going through the market, the young lady was trying to get all the information she could.
Looking at her innocent face and sweet smile, no one could pick out that her sharp eyes were taking every little detail of this market in and her mind had already started making calculations.
No, she wasn't an evil person trying to conquer the town. She was just a business woman. Probably more scary than the evil person if it came down to work and perfection.
Her calculations were put to an abrupt stop when her phone rang. The ringtone meant for someone so special, that everything else just vanished.
"We have so many employees to work yet you insist on scoping out the area by yourself, even after knowing that I will be here all alone," came the voice from the other side.
A smile perched upon Hritika's face hearing him whine.
"I miss you too," she said simply, knowing the hidden meaning behind his grumpiness.
"You wouldn't have gone there, if you missed me," he taunted.
"My dear little cousin, you know this was important. This town supplies products to almost 15 villages nearby. This is a literal jackpot. If we manage to start our branch here, profit is going to skyrocket like crazy plus the tax benefits we would get for starting something in a rural area", Hritika tried to explain, even though her cousin knew everything.
"I know all that but I am missing you like crazy. You know, I don't like eating alone," he grumbled picking at his sleeves.
"How about a video call? I will eat here and you eat there while looking at my face," Hritika suggested.
"I already ate. I just said that I don't like eating alone. That doesn't mean, I would starve just because you aren't here," he said, making Hritika laugh.
"What should I do with you?" Hritika asked rhetorically.
"You don't have to do anything with me. You just need to come back," he spoke.
"Just a day more. I will come back as soon as I am done with the area near the forest," Hritika tried assuring him but it had the opposite effect.
"Forest? What forest?" he asked in a frantic tone.
Hritika rolled her eyes at his overacting. "A forest, you know the one with trees, plants and animals," she answered like she was talking to a kid.
"WHAT? Come back right now. We don't need to open a branch where there are wild animals. Come back," he screamed, sounding scared out of his wits.
"Relax. Wild animals would be deep inside the forest, not on the outskirts of the town. Plus no one is even allowed to go to the clearing before the forest, let alone going to the forest itself. I am not going to lose this opportunity just because you fear animals," Hritika said sternly.
She would agree to all of his demands but letting his fear get the best of him was not something she would let happen.
"Argh! Why don't you ever understand? Let's make a compromise, alright? How about you go and ask the locals if any wild animal was ever spotted in town? If the answer is no, then we would open a branch there. But if the answer is yes, you will come back immediately," he gave out an option.
Finding this compromise better than a straight no, Hritika agreed.
"Okay now that we have agreed, let's hang up. I will go and ask around," Hritika said and was going to end the call when he stopped her.
"What now?" she asked, smiling slightly.
"Promise me that you won't go near that forest."
"But...," Hritika tried to protest but he wasn't having any of it.
"Promise me," He said sternly, not backing out.
"Okay Nihal, I promise."
