Vivaan and Yara climbed the stairs as Alpha's office was at the fourth floor.

Both of them were troubled by Rahul. While Vivaan had gone silent after dodging Rahul's question, Yara on the other hand was disturbed by this sick mindset.

"Times have changed yet everyone's mind is still in gutter," Yara grumbled.

"Cool down your anger. You are going to face many of this Rahuls after becoming my Beta. Handling them with fists would only put you in bad light," Vivaan tried his best to make her understand.

"I know but what to do, Sachi cannot take this disrespect. She wanted to claw his eyes out, I barely managed to keep her in control."

"What a liar. Your bestfriend couldn't handle her temper and is putting all the blame on my poor wolfie," Joy grumbled.

Vivaan chuckled at his wolf's grumbling and relayed his message to Yara.

"Look at him getting all protective over Sachi," Yara commented as Sachi danced with happiness.

"Take that human. My best friend knows me too well to believe your lies," Sachi taunted.

"Their friendship is stronger than ours," Vivaan commented as they stopped near Alpha's office.

"Come in," Alpha's voice came from inside, even before they could knock.

"He must have smelled us," Vivaan answered the unasked question from Yara.

Entering, Yara bowed her head in respect while Vivaan looked straight into Alpha's eyes.

"Rise," Alpha told to Yara from his seat and turned his face towards Vivaan.

"You haven't become an Alpha yet. Lose your attitude and show some respect," Alpha ordered with folded hands.

"I thought that respect comes from heart but if bowing is only form of respect you prefer then sure," saying this Vivaan made an over exaggeration of bowing, taunting Alpha in his own way.

Alpha Aarjav sighed at this but didn't bother to stretch the topic. Asking both of them to sit, he informed the reason for calling them.

While Vivaan sat down on the chair immediately with arrogance, Yara thanked the Alpha and sat with grace and politeness.

Though full of files and papers related to the pack, the office was neat and clean. Alpha Aarjav was known for his dedication to work. There wasn't a single time when work had been piled up.

"I want you two to go to the town tomorrow, in my place. Meet our Omegas working there and see if they have any problems."

Yara glanced at Vivaan once and they both nodded.

"Make sure to not make any impulsive promises. Hear them out and tell them that we would look into the problem. We should not make any promise that we cannot keep. It would hurt them more than the fact that their problem wasn't solved," Alpha instructed.

Yara kept glancing towards Vivaan, worried that he might burst out in anger as Alpha listed out the do's and don'ts like they were small kids. But there was actually no reason for her to worry as there wasn't a speck of fury on Vivaan's face.

He calmly and attentively listened to everything. The previous slouched and arrogant posture of his had vanished into thin air as soon as Alpha started discussing about the pack's welfare.

Their rivalry would never come in between their love and care for pack and it's members. After discussing everything Alpha asked Vivaan to leave and Yara to stay back.

Vivaan wanted to protest but Yara blinked at him to indicate that she would handle it.

"Close the door behind you," Alpha ordered as he knew that his son would try to hear what was going on.

"Yara. Yara," Vivaan called her out in mind when she didn't respond immediately.

"What? I am sitting in front of Alpha. Don't divert my mind," Yara scolded, hoping that Alpha didn't realize that she was mind-linking Vivaan.

All her hopes went down the drain when Alpha commented, "Tell Vivaan to shut the mind link and wait for you. As much as he doesn't like me, he should know that I would never harm a pack member and most definitely not someone who is as special as you."

Yara smiled guiltily at being caught and immediately shut her mind-link knowing that Vivaan had already heard what was going on.

"What did you want to talk about Alpha?" Yara asked timidly.

"I am guessing that Vivaan has chosen you as his beta seeing that he brought you today here when I had told him to bring the best candidate for the future beta," Alpha mused.

"Is there a problem with me becoming a Beta?" Yara asked, thinking about the words Rahul had spoken earlier.

"No, not at all. But you will have to train harder from now onwards," Alpha denied with a smile.

Though Alpha was smiling, Yara wasn't convinced. Asking her to train harder meant that she wasn't fully capable in his eyes. Not the one to make assumptions without proper facts, she directly asked Alpha about the meaning behind his words.

A small smile crept upon Alpha's face seeing Yara's defensive posture.

"You will be the first female beta. This change won't be easily acceptable by everyone. You will have to face and pass many tests thrown by everybody. Not only from our pack but also from others. We all know what happened when the Northern Pack got his first Female Alpha.

"So train harder and become invincible because I want you to pass each and every challenge thrown in your way."

Yara was deeply touched by Alpha's words and her resolve had strengthened two fold.

Smiling at Alpha, she took her leave. If both Alpha and future Alpha were backing her up then she would conquer all the obstacles without any fear and would work for the pack with all her might.
