Hiccup walked home that night depressed. He collected his final pay check what the company owned him and left. It was dark, rainy and cold and the auburn male couldn't help but feel depressed. Even though he hated the job, he still liked having a little bit of money in his back pocket, even though he doesn't really buy things, he'll rather save his money than spend it.

What made matters even worse was that Hiccup had to tell his very strict dad about the bad news. He always pushed Hiccup in his direction, not Hiccup's personal preference. Hiccup hated it. He'd rather make decisions on his own rather than relying on his dad all the time. But to be fair, his dad made him support rugby, and that's probably the only true love in his life, almost.

As the rain poured heavier he pulled out his phone. He decided in that moment he needed cheering up. He had his pay check and wanted to do something. But no on his own. That's why he pulled his phone out and clicked on a beautiful picture of a certain beautiful girl. Astrid. His best friend and first and only crush.

He found a bus shelter a few minutes down the road and sat down, taking cover from the heavy rain. The way back home from his work wasn't anything special. Just roads and side paths. But there was a vast park just a few minutes down the road which Hiccup walks through. It actually takes longer walking through the park, but it was worth it.

"You wanna hang out for a bit?" Hiccup texted and waited for a response.

It took a few minutes but finally the blonde replied.

"Hey Hiccup! I thought you were at work?!"

Hiccup chuckled and shook his head. Astrid was his one true supporter, even more so than his father. If he thought that his father would be angry about him getting fired, Astrid would be even more so. But she was a sweetheart in most situations and a little bit of pizza would calm her down anyway if she got really angry.

"I'll tell you later if you come out?"

"Hiccup...????"

The auburn male chuckled again. He knew the exact face his crush would be pulling right now, he can just picture it. Her "Please tell me or I will kill you, but it better not be bad" face. She had many different types of faces but that face is the face that makes Hiccup laugh the most. Mainly because she's so cute when she's angry. But just don't let her hit you.

"Please...?"

"It's raining Hiccup and what would we even do?"

Hiccup had already thought of an idea. There was a bowling place about fifteen minutes away from his house. It had an arcade, a play area for the kids and a café, and of course bowling. It's a place were him and his friends don't really hang out at that much, but when they do, they always seem to have fun there.

"We could go bowling and get something to eat?"

"I will if you promise me what happened to your job"

Hiccup smiled and put the thumbs up emoji. Astrid did the same and ended it with a love heart. The rain was still heaving down loads and the auburn male wasn't really dressed appropriately. He was wearing a thin navy blue jumper and some tight black jeans with his workbag still strapped to his back.

He wont tell his dad about the bad news yet. As long as his dad thinks he's at work, he should be fine. Meaning no going home to get changed or to drop off his workbag.

He still sat there for a few minutes, mainly thinking, but he was also waiting to see if the rain would slow down a bit before he would set off. He sat there thinking about his life. He didn't do well in school and he didn't go to college like Astrid or his friends. Of course, he's also just got fired. Now to be honest, rugby is the only thing that's worth fighting for now.

His dream is to make it professional. His town is a proud rugby town and his team hasn't won anything for years. When he was younger, he would pretend to score a last minute try in his bedroom and pretend to win the most prestige's trophy in rugby league. The Super League Trophy. His team hasn't won it. That's what made it so special for him as a kid, creating these dreams.

He just knows that that's never going to happen to him.

Hey guys!

The reason why I'm doing short chapters is because it's better for me personally. I don't lose motivation and I actually enjoy writing again. But once the story kicks in to gear, I'll do slightly longer chapters.

So when I return to "Hiccstrid Apocalypse" expect the same treatment just for now.

Anyway that's all from me!!

I'll see ya guys later!!!!
