Seonghwa couldn't believe his eyes.
The ware house had been converted into some kind of giant... machine.
Large mechanical arms came from every side to hold a large glass orb in place in the center of the room. It appeared to be housing the mysterious particle his father had been after.
Which kept glowing brighter and brighter.
The machine whirred to life, stirring up the air and forcing it out to the walls.
All eight of them held up their arms to shield their faces from any flying debris.
Whatever his father was doing... It looked like it was almost done.
They started to march forward, leaning into the torrent trying to keep them at bay.
Seonghwa swallowed, trying to build up his nerves. He couldn't back down this time. He couldn't hesitate. He was going to put and end to this. Once and for all.
He could hear the man laughing as he stared up at the large ball. "I was wondering when you would get here!" He shouted, tilting his head over his shoulder.
Seonghwa faltered, then cried out as they were swarmed with other members of the Wolf Pack.
Everything had been a set up as an ambush. The men outside were just a distraction. A means to an end to give his father more time to complete his mission.
His arms were yanked behind his back and bound tight before he was forced forward.
Everything was happening so face, he had a hard time processing. The sound of the air whirling around his head started to drown out everything else.
Except for the screams from behind him.
Seonghwa turned and saw the rest of his team was fighting off their captors.
"Just bring them all!" His father growled, turning back to his machine. "I've worked too hard to let you ruin it now!"
The eight members were forced to their knees in front of the machine as it continued to get louder and louder.
"You walked right into my trap. Just as I expected you would." The man sneered. "It took you longer than I thought it would though, did my ambush outside give you guys problems?"
"You fucking bastard!" Hongjoong growled. "Do none of their lives matter to you?"
"No. They don't."
Seonghwa's jaw dropped at his father's words. He didn't remember the man being this heartless. He had always put his men first. For him to be so careless... He must be out of his mind.
"And none of you matter either. In fact, none of this matters anymore. You're finished. I've won." He started laughing again, bending back a little as he did. "I never thought this day would come. All that work. All that planning. It was all worth it. And now it will all be fixed."
"Making Seonghwa kill his own mother, was that worth it?" Wooyoung shouted, his face red with rage.
Seonghwa turned to him with wide eyes and tried to catch his attention, but a dark look had crossed the younger's face.
"That was woman was no mother." His father still had to speak up to be heard over the machine, but his tone changed and he looked almost sad. "Yes, killing an innocent is part of our training. That's how it's always been. But that bitch thought she had the right to come back and try to buy Seonghwa's love back after abandoning him right after birth."
His father turned away, giving Seonghwa a chance to look at the ground as he tried to process what was just said. He had wondered about his mom sometimes, but it had never been a concern. His father had always been attentive, caring, nurturing at times, and sure he was strict given his chosen profession... But Seonghwa had never felt the loss of not having a mom.
"When she came back wanting to be a part of his life again... I couldn't put him through the questions and the pain. You didn't deserve that, Seonghwa." He turned back around and Seonghwa could have sworn he saw a tear in his eye. "Maybe now, we have a chance to fix it and start anew."
The man walked forward and helped Seonghwa stand before untying his wrists. He could feel the others watching him and he wanted nothing more than to seek out Wooyoung for comfort.
"Son, this is for you." His father gestured to the machine. "This is our opportunity to start over."
"I don't understand." Seonghwa took a step back.
"When we press this button together, everything we know will be replaced. I have been researching for years now, and this particle was the last thing I needed. When put under enough pressure, it has the ability to turn back time."
"You're lying!" Yunho said, squirming against the rope binding him. "That's impossible!"
"Nothing is impossible. You just need to have patience and wait for the materials needed. In a few short minutes, the machine will be ready, and anyone who activates it will be sent back. Life for everyone else will be reset and they will have no memory. But I... I will remember everything and be able to fix all the mistakes I made and I will finally come out on top." He paused and looked directly at Seonghwa. "Come with me."
Seonghwa didn't know what to say or even think. There was no way this could be real. His father had lost his mind.
He took a few steps back and shook his head. "No. That would be the worst mistake I could make." He said. There was no way he could let his father go through with this.
In a quick movement, Seonghwa dropped the floor, stuck his leg out, and spun in a circle. His father fell to the floor with a shout and placed a hand on his stomach when the wind was knocked out of him.
Mingi jumped to his feet beside him, his hands magically free from his ropes, and started working on freeing the others as Seonghwa pulled out one of his guns and fired at any member of the Wolf Pack that charged for him.
"Yeosang! Figure out how to shut this down!" Hongjoong shouted once he was free. Their leader took up a spot next to Seonghwa and joined him in protecting the others.
There were too many of them though... They were closing in.
San and Wooyoung got to their feet, and while the older pulled out one of his guns, Wooyoung turned and ran straight for Seonghwa's father.
"Wooyoung, no!" The sniper shouted, darting after the younger.
He watched as Wooyoung launched himself at his father, still lying on the ground. But that was his plan all along.
The man brought a leg up and slammed it into Wooyoung's stomach, sending him flying back into Seonghwa and knocking them both to the ground.
"Woo!" The older said quickly, cradling the whimpering boy to him and looking him over.
"This doesn't matter anymore!" His father roared. "I will get to raise you again. And you'll love me just as much as I love you."
"NO! None of this is love!" Seonghwa shouted back. "Love isn't turning your son into a killer! Or making him shoot his own mother, no matter how awful she was. Love isn't watching your son sleep with someone he loves and make him have to pretend to rape him! This isn't love!" Tears came to his eyes and he stood up and moved Wooyoung behind him.
All the gunfire stopped as he faced off with his father, indicating that everyone now knew what had transpired between him and Wooyoung.
His father froze. Then his eyes flashed between Seonghwa and were Wooyoung was standing behind him. His lips moved, but Seonghwa couldn't hear what he said.
"Yeosang! Figure this out!" Hongjoong shouted.
"I'm trying!" The hacker shouted back.
Seonghwa could see him running around frantically trying to study the machine.
Something dinged and there was a flash of light. The wind stopped, and a low hum filled the air.
"It's too late." Yeosang gasped.
"It's you're fault." Seonghwa's father growled, his eyes locked on Wooyoung. "You took my son away from me!"
Blinded by rage, Seonghwa watched as his father charged them. He immediately pushed Wooyoung out of the way and lunged at the man, intercepting him and they fell to the floor in a tangle of limbs.
There was no way he was going to let his father anywhere near Wooyoung or the machine.
Even if it was the last thing he did.

When the fighting erupted, chaos resumed.
The Wolf Pack ran forward to attack the team of eight. They wouldn't shoot their guns because they ran the risk of hitting the machine, but that didn't stop them from entering hand to hand combat.
Jongho took on three at once as he defended Yeosang. He ducked under arms and and landed punches in quick succession on one man's chest and face, knocking him out.
Yeosang flailed behind him, trying to find anything he could use to disable the machine. It was protected by a case of solid steel, however, so there was no way in... All that was available to them now was the button that would be used to activate it.
The hacker whimpered as he started to feel useless and turned to look at Jongho.
Yunho and San fought side by side, San with his knives and Yunho with two hand guns. They did their best to push back the attackers, staying focused on the task at hand.
Mingi and Hongjoong were the same.
Both couples stayed as close together as possible as they fought for their lives and their future.
Seonghwa and his father rolled around on the floor. The mafia leader was hellbent on getting to the boy he now blamed for the change of heart in his son.
"You son of a bitch! I will end you for this! Mark my words, I will make you suffer in this new future! But first I'm going to kill you!" The man shouted, shoving Seonghwa to the side.
Wooyoung scrambled away and started to run.
A grenade was thrown off to the side, causing an explosion that sent everyone to the floor, but it wasn't close enough to harm the machine.
They were all scattered across the floor.
Hongjoong, Yunho, San, Jongho, and Yeosang were all sent flying to the far side of the warehouse. They worked to pick each other up off the ground while shaking their heads. Cuts and bruises littered their skin.
Mingi groaned as he pushed himself into a sitting position. He rubbed his head and started to search for Hongjoong, sighing in relief when he saw that the man was ok.
Wooyoung had fallen back and was fumbling with one of his knives as he watched Seonghwa's father get closer and closer.
The man pulled out a gun and pointed it right for the boy's head.
With a snarl, Mercer pulled the trigger.
Seonghwa jumped in front of Wooyoung right before it happened. His body jolted as the bullet hit him, then he fell to the ground.
"NOOOOO!" Wooyoung screamed. He rolled over and scrambled over to Seonghwa, leaning over the older's body. "H-Hwa!" He placed a hand over the hole in his neck.
The thick, dark red blood oozed out of it and Seonghwa was gasping for air.
Mercer fell to his knees, stunned by what had just happened. The gun clattered to the floor next to him.
"Seonghwa, stay with me." Wooyoung pleaded, tears flowing freely down his cheeks as he put pressure on the wound.
"Woo..." The older gasped, trying to keep his eyes open. He was already pale from the blood loss. "Baby..."
"Shhhh. Don't speak. I'm going to make you better. We are going to get through this."
Seonghwa's eyelids fluttered and he raised a shaking hand to brush his thumbs across the tear tracks on his lover's cheek. "Al... Always... I'll always... Love..."
"No! Seonghwa please! You can't leave me!" Wooyoung pleaded as Seonghwa's hand dropped from his face. The boy let out a heart wrenching scream. He bent forward and pressed the older's face to his chest, rocking back and forth as blood continued to flow through his fingers. "No!"
"My son..." Mercer whimpered, bending over to press his forehead to his hands.
No one seemed to breath for a moment.
The only sound was that of Wooyoung's cries of pain.
He lifted his head and looked at Mingi. "F-Fix this!" His voice broke as he shouted at the thief.
Mingi shook his head, a confused look on his face. Then his eyes widened as he looked at the button right next to him.
"FIX THIS! I NEED HIM!"
"Wooyoung, we don't know what will happen!" Taller shouted back.
Jongho pulled Yeosang into his chest, comforting the hacker as he openly started to sob.
Yunho had his arms wrapped around San from behind, while the younger had lifted his hands to hold onto Yunho's arms. San looked broken as he focused on Wooyoung.
"JUST DO IT!" Wooyoung's voice broke as he continued to cradle Seonghwa's limp body to his chest.
Mingi turned to look at Hongjoong. They both looked lost.
"Don't worry, I will fix this. And you will pay for everything you've done. I will see my son again!" Mercer pushed himself off the ground.
"Mingi!" Hongjoong's voice filled the air.
Mercer ran for the button, his hand outstretched.
"I love you." The thief looked at Hongjoong, earning a nod in return.
Then he turned and leapt for the button.
He pressed it at the same time as Mercer.
The machine whirred, then exploded in a brilliant white light.
End.
Coming Soon.
