As soon as Jongho saw San go for Seonghwa, he grabbed the wall and used it to help his momentum when throwing himself into the large room.
He slid across the floor and stopped under a desk just as a few bullets ricocheted off the floor where he had just been.
His heart was founding, but he needed to help Seonghwa.
Then a pair of hands pulled him out from under the desk and slammed him into another one.
Jongho grunted and found his footing, planting himself so he could swing his fist forward. It connected with the side of the man's face and made him stumble to the side.
But he recovered quickly and lunged at Jongho, wrapping his hands around the fighter's throat.
Jongho gasped and pulled at the man's wrists to distract him while he looped one leg in between the other's legs and twisted his body so they both fell to the floor.
The man let go of him and Jongho punched his face twice.
The first one broke his nose. The second one knocked him out.
Moving quickly, Jongho ran to the next one in his way and wrapped an arm around his neck while slamming his fist into his side several times.
When the man was weak enough, he grabbed him by his shirt and threw him into the wall, loving the crack that came right before he landed in a crumpled heap on the ground.
The next one got a chair to the face.
Then he picked up a syringe and spun it in his hand before running up to another man and shoved it into his neck, not even flinching as blood spurted everywhere.
Bullets still whizzed past his head, but Jongho did his best to ignore them. He knew Hongjoong and Mingi would have his back as soon as they realized what he was doing.
San and Seonghwa were rolling on the floor just a few feet in front of him.
He dove forward and grabbed San around the waist, pulling him off the sniper and pinning him to the ground. "San! San, snap out of it!"
The older snarled and tried to throw Jongho off him, but Jongho was stronger. He was able to pin San to the ground and hold him in place. "Joong now! I've got him!"
Jongho watched as San started to weaken and his eyelids fluttered.
"That's it. Sleep, Sannie. We are going to get you out of here." Jongho grunted as he started to drag the older to the side of the room.
Seonghwa jumped into action immediately and covered them, shooting man after man down.
Then he paused and shouted, "Wooyoung!"

He knew he had to do something. San needed the chance. And if Mercer had figured out a way to control him, then Wooyoung would figure out how to fix him.
If he couldn't fix himself, then he could at least fix San.
So after Seonghwa had thrown their horrid vest aside, Wooyoung darted into the jumble of bodies in front of him and headed straight for the man with the tablet.
When they collided, they stumbled to the ground.
"Get off me you pathetic whore!" He said as he slammed his fist into the he side of Wooyoung's head.
He yelped in response but managed to recover quickly, climbing back onto the man and holding one of his knives to his throat. "Give me the device and tell me how to use it."
The man started to laugh and made the motion to push Wooyoung off him, then froze when the knife broke skin.
"Tell me how to use it!" Wooyoung shouted, taking out another knife and spinning it between his fingers. "I know how to cut you some that you'll be in utter agony, but not die for a very, very, very long time."
The man below him paled and handed over the tablet. "The microphone is in the back, you speak into it and he hears it in his head. You can enter things into the tablet too to help reinforce the voice."
"Thank you." Wooyoung gave him a sweet smile before slicing his throat.
He didn't even flinch when the blood it his face.
As the shouting around him continued, Wooyoung looked around. His eyes locked on where Mercer was running to a door in the corner. He held the cylinder close to his chest as he yanked the door open and slipped through.
Without thinking, Wooyoung ran after him.
He thought he heard his name being shouted behind him, but he ignored it.
It was time for him to try and face his own demon.
A shadow could be seen at the end of the hall.
"MERCER!" Wooyoung shouted, his voiced echoed down the hall.
The man paused and turned around slowly. "My little Wooyoung. I knew you would come to join me." He laughed and snapped his fingers.
Wooyoung's stomach lurched as he started to walk forward.
He cringed and forced himself to stop. "N-No! I am not yours t-to control!"
Mercer continued to laugh and snapped his fingers again. When Wooyoung didn't move, he started to walk toward him. "If you come with me, I can promise you a fulfilling future. I'll let you in on everything. All of my plans. Everything." He continued to get closer and suddenly Wooyoung found himself frozen in place. "But we have to go now. This particle can only last for 48 hours like this. I need to get it attached to my machine." He snapped his fingers once more.
Wooyoung closed his eyes and lifted a foot off the ground.
"No!" Seonghwa's voice came from behind him, breaking his trance.
That was all Wooyoung needed. He opened his eyes and drew back his hand before quickly snapping it forward.
Mercer stepped to the side and dodged it easily. He turned to look at Wooyoung in shock. "I underestimated you."
"You have no idea what I'm capable of." Wooyoung said darkly as he pulled out another knife.
"Father, there's no place for you to go." Seonghwa walked forward and held up his gun. "Give us whatever that is."
"I can't." Mercer looked down at the cylinder. "Now that it has been taken out of it's case, it can't be put back. I need to get it installed before the time runs out. Last chance, Son. Come with me, and we can rule the new world together."
"What new world?!" Seonghwa shouted, taking a step forward. "Face it, you've lost!"
"No." Mercer laughed and shook his head. "I've won. I have everything I need. Soon, none of this will matter. I'm going to change everything."
Wooyoung felt himself shaking. He had no idea what the man was talking about, but he was ready for it to stop. He pulled out a few more knives and started throwing them at Mercer, but the man dodged each one easily, stepping back each time.
"Oh my beautiful Pet. Soon you will be mine as well. And mine alone. Everything will be different."
Seonghwa roared next to him and started walking forward, but the gun shook in his hand.
Wooyoung could see the tears rolling from his eyes as he kept the gun pointed at his father.
"I love you, Son. I promise I'm going to fix this." Mercer said, his tone the most sincere Wooyoung had ever heard it.
It made Seonghwa freeze and he lowered the gun just a little.
Just enough that Mercer took the chance to turn and run.
Wooyoung placed a hand on Seonghwa's shoulder as he slowly sank to his knees. The gun clattered against the floor and Seonghwa stared at his hands.
"It's ok." Wooyoung whispered, hugging Seonghwa from behind.
The older just continued to stare at his shaking hands as sobs wracked his body.
The gunfire behind them was starting to slow down and become less frequent, but there were still quite a few screams of pain.
Wooyoung tightened his grip around Seonghwa's waist and pressed his cheek into his shoulder.
After a moment, Seonghwa placed his hands over the younger's and squeezed. "Y-Youngie..." He whimpered, bending over even further.
"It's ok." Wooyoung said again, tilting his head just slightly to look at where Mercer had vanished around the corner.

Mingi poked his head around the corner as the shooting started to slow. Jongho had managed to take out quite few men and was back at it now that San was taken care of.
He couldn't help but think that the younger was enjoying himself, given that he had a slight smirk on his face as he held one man by they scruff of his shirt and punched another one in the stomach.
"Where are the others?" Hongjoong called out from the other side of the doorway.
"I think I saw them go through the back to go after the leader!" Mingi yelled back before peering around the corner and firing off several rounds at the nearest man.
"I'm sick of this! Cover me." Hongjoong reloaded both of his guns.
While he didn't like it, Mingi obeyed and firing randomly into the corner of the room.
Then he watched as Hongjoong held both guns in front of him and walked in. His eyes were dark as targeted each person with pinpoint accuracy. A maniacal smile crossed his face as he stuck his tongue out the corner of his mouth.
It was the hottest thing Mingi had ever seen.
He stepped out to follow Hongjoong, wanting to make sure he was going to be ok.
There were only a few men left.
Mingi aimed for one running straight at Jongho and dropped him to the ground.
Then he saw one charging Hongjoong from behind.
In one fluid motion, Mingi looped an arm around Hongjoong's waist and swung the older out of the way and put a bullet in his enemy's head.
No one was going to hurt Hongjoong on his watch.
A few gunshots later, the room fell silent.
Jongho looked at them with wide eyes as his shoulders rose and fell rapidly. "Is it over?"
Hongjoong slowly lowered his guns and turned in a quick circle.
Bodies were strewn across the floor, laying in pools of their own blood. Bullet shells were everywhere, along with random items from the desks.
"San." Hongjoong gasped and ran over to where Jongho had left him.
Their friend look peaceful as he slept. Like he was the San they knew and loved, not the controlled monster from a short time ago.
"Is he going to be ok?" Mingi asked as Hongjoong let out a long sigh.
"I have no idea. But we will figure it out. Where are Seonghwa and Wooyoung?"
"Here." A small voice came from behind them.
All three turned around to see Wooyoung walking in, clutching something to his chest, with Seonghwa close behind.
They ran to their friends and pulled them into a hug.
It felt so good to be reunited at last, and there was a sense of partial relief that fell over them.
But Seonghwa pushed them away and looked at the ground. "I'm sorry." He whispered.
Wooyoung immediately turned and wrapped his arms around Seonghwa's waist.
Mingi and Jongho exchanged a surprised look as Seonghwa held him and buried his face in Wooyoung's neck. "I failed again."
"No, Seonghwa, it's a tough situation all around." Hongjoong said gently. Then he lifted his arm up. "Yeosang, what's it look like up there?"
"They are falling back. I've got a drone following them now so we know where they go." The hacker said quickly. "What do we do now?"
Wooyoung turned his head. "We need to get control of San again, because we have less than 48 hours to stop him. Whatever that was, whatever he is doing... He's talking about changing a mistake."
"48 hours?!" Mingi exclaimed, running his hands through his hair. "How are we supposed to do this in 48 hours? After we just went through all of this!"
"Together." Yunho's voice came over the bracelets. "Come home. We will restock, and we will take him down together."
