Jongho watched in horror as San changed into a different person right before their eyes.
As soon as he ran out the front door, firing his gun and laughing like a crazy person, Hongjoong pulled up his bracelet and queued up the sleeping drug, but then hesitated.
"Hongjoong do it!" Jongho shouted.
"I c-can't! If I drop him out there..." Their leader's face scrunched up in pain as the three of them stood huddled in a corner.
He was right... If San were to be sedated in the middle of all this, then there was no way he could protect himself.
"Hongjoong what happened!" Yunho's voice came through the bracelet.
"I don't know Yunho, but we are going to find out." Hongjoong promised. "Yeosang, run scans of everything. We need to know what to expect."
"Got it." The hacker answered quickly.
The front doors opened again and they could hear muffled voices, but none of them risked peering around the corner for fear of being caught.
"I'll let you know where they go." Yeosang said quietly.
Jongho cracked his knuckles and rolled his neck. In these tight quarters, it was going to be his time to shine, so he needed go be ready.
A drone buzzed down the hall and hovered right in front of Jongho. He stared at it for a long moment and nodded before adjusting his mask and pulling down his hat.
Footsteps could be heard getting softer.
"Down the main hall and to the left. There is an elevator." Yeosang became the voice in their head, guiding them through the maze of hallways.
The three of them kept crouched low to the ground and stayed in the shadows as much as possible.
There were about twenty five people in front of them, not including Seonghwa, Wooyoung, and San, so the odds were not on their side.
It made Jongho nervous, but he had dealt with unfair odds before.
He knew exactly how this would play out too, no matter if they won or lost.
Most of the men would be his to deal with, while Mingi did everything he could to protect Hongjoong. He didn't mind, neither of them were the strongest fighters, so working at a team would be beneficial to them. But Mingi would do the brunt of the work.
Hopefully Seonghwa would be in a place that he could help.
Yeosang had filled them in one Wooyoung's situation, so they couldn't count on him helping.
And San...
Jongho had no idea what to do about San.

As soon as San appeared, Wooyoung started to panic. He was the 'Switch' Mercer had been referring to. He desperately wanted to run to his friend and help him snap out of it, if he made one wrong move, it would be the end for him.
Hope of getting out of this was leaving Wooyoung quickly. He saw no way out.
The large group moved through the facility with guns trained in every direction.
San had caused enough destruction, and with the threat of a bomb, the guards had stood down and weren't pursuing them.
But there was no saying there wouldn't be some down in the lower levels.
When his thoughts started to wander and his pace slowed, all Mercer had to do was snap and he would return to the man's side.
He was no better than San... All the time being Mercer's toy had programmed him to respond to the sounds.
Wooyoung swallowed as he ran his hand over one of his hidden knives.
Oh how he longed to feel the weight of dragging the sharp blade against skin as he watched the light leave Mercer's eyes.
Once they reached a hallway with several elevators, he was pulled into one with Mercer, Seonghwa, San, and a few others while the rest of the group moved to take others.
The button for five was pressed and they started to move down.
"Father, I think it's about time you tell me what this particle is for. I'm tired of being left in the dark." Seonghwa growled, earning him a smirk from his father.
"I suppose you're right. This particle is going to allow me to fix everything. I made one mistake in my life, long ago, that could have changed the course of everything. I plan to make that right."
"Would you stop speaking in riddles and just fucking tell me?!" Seonghwa shouted, balling his hands into fists.
The door dinged, then opened, interrupting their conversation.
Several of the men poured out and started doing a scan of the room.
There was no one down here. Yellow flashing lights lined the outside walls, indicating that maybe an evacuation happened.
But no one dropped their guard.
The group moved at a slower space as they scanned every hall and room they passed.
Mercer started to get noticeably antsy the longer it took.
Wooyoung chanced looking at San. His face was hardened and his eyes were empty.
This wasn't their San. His eyes flicked to the man with the tablet and he saw what looked like some kind of brain wave.
They were controlling San...
Maybe if they broke the tablet then San could be released.
"There." Mercer said.
Everyone looked at a large set of double doors at the end of the hall. It looked like they had been sealed with every electronic lock available.
"San."
The boy stepped forward and examined the locks carefully. Then he turned to the keypad and started trying to decode the lock.

"I bet whatever they are looking for is behind that room." Hongjoong whispered as he peeked around the corner from the stairwell.
"I'd be willing to agree with you because I can't get a scan on it. Whatever they have in there is every bit as important as the Wolf Pack seems to think it is." Yeosang confirmed.
His drone was still hovering by their heads. It was they only way he could stay connected with them now that they were underground.
He had been working on it ever since Seonghwa first made contact.
"You guys are going to need to be extra careful. There's a chance that once you step into that room I won't be able to reach you. But there's also a chance that my scans will reach once the doors open and the seal is broken."
"We will." Jongho said.
Hongjoong glanced at the fighter. His face was set in a scowl as he ground his teeth together while watching San work the keypad.
The leader couldn't even imagine what must be going through Jongho's head. Nor Yunho or Yeosang...
He glanced at Mingi and their eyes met.
Everything was riding on whatever happened next.
Once those doors opened, everything would change.
They reached for each other and laced their fingers together.

The seconds ticked by as Wooyoung watched San's fingers fly over the keypad. Part of him hoped he would never get it open, but he didn't know how Mercer would react to that.
And as if his thoughts were heard, an alarm sounded and the doors started to open.
Mist poured out of the room and started to fill the hallway.
Mercer chuckled and started walking forward.
Seonghwa fell into step next to, and slightly behind, Wooyoung.
The younger almost flinched when he felt just Seonghwa's pink loop into his.
It was exactly the comfort he needed as they proceeded into the mysterious room.
It was cold. Almost freezing, in fact.
Several large machines lined the walls and a large tube ran in a circle across the ceiling. There were computers, measuring equipment, mirror, and all sorts of other things littering the room.
And no people. But the yellow flashing lights continued.
In the center of the room was a large, round pedestal. The top was surrounded by a clear tube that ran all the way to the ceiling.
Mercer looked around the room, focusing on where the cameras were in the corners. He snapped his fingers and Wooyoung stepped forward.
Once the contact with Seonghwa was broken, he started to tremble. Especially once Mercer placed a hand on the back of his neck and pushed him forward. "To anyone watching right now, turn of any defenses, anything that will keep me from getting what I want, or I will blow this facility up and all your research with it."
Wooyoung swallowed the whimper that threatened to come free as they got closer to the container.
There was a long stand in the middle that was holding up a cylinder that had a glowing green sphere in the middle.
"This is it." Mercer whispered, tightening his grip on Wooyoung's neck. "This is what will set everything right." He leaned forward so his mouth was next to Wooyoung's ear. "Push the green button."
Wooyoung lifted a shaky hand and pushed the button in front of him.
The contraption hissed as the tube started to disappear into the ceiling. It was a slow retraction, and Wooyoung couldn't help but watch it get higher and higher.
Until the cylinder on the inside was exposed.
Now Mercer pushed him out of the way and lifted it off it's stand.
A clock immediately started counting down.
48 hours.
"We have what we need, let's get out of here." Mercer said. He caressed the cylinder and started to walk forward.

As soon as the leader had the cylinder in his hand, Hongjoong pulled out his guns and motioned to the others.
They took up their place behind him and they stepped out to block the elevators.
No one took notice of them.
"Hongjoong, aim for his left hand. I think that's the trigger for Wooyoung's vest." Yeosang whispered.
The leader held up his gun and took aim.
He pulled the trigger.
Everyone in the room ducked at the same time that the leader cried out.
Hongjoong's aim was true and the trigger shattered in his hand.
Once the Wolf Pack recovered, they spun around.
All hell broke lose as guns were fired from both sides as people dove for cover.
"What's the plan now?" Mingi shouted as he reloaded his gun.
Hongjoong bit his lip and popped out from behind the wall to fire at the three closest mafia members. The only thing they had going for them was the fact that they were blocking the only exit that he knew of.
"Keep them pinned!" He shouted back.
"This is crazy!" Jongho growled as he attempted to aim for someone.
A section of the wall by the youngest's head exploded when three bullets hit it at the same time. He dove to the ground and covered the back of his neck as Hongjoong covered him and fired of an entire clip in the direction the shots had come from.

When the shooting started, Seonghwa dove for Wooyoung right away and pulled him to the side. When he saw the trigger explode, he knew it had to be Hongjoong.
The chaos acted as a good cover.
He and Wooyoung ducked behind a desk and he fumbled with the straps on the vest, desperate to get the awful weapon off the younger.
"Are y-you ok?" He asked, cupping Wooyoung's face. He didn't like the he haunted look he found there.
"I want to go home." Wooyoung said quietly, looking at Seonghwa with big, tear filled eyes.
"Soon, honey, we need to get out of this first." Seonghwa kissed his forehead and tossed the vest as far away as he could.
He caught a glimpse of his father running to the other end of the of the room holding the canister close to his chest.
Just as he was about to run after him, Wooyoung bolted from behind the desk heading straight for the man with the tablet.
"Wooyoung!" He shouted. Every ounce of him wanted to run after the younger, but his father was getting away.
So Seonghwa slammed his hand against the desk and ran after him. "Stop right there." He growled, pulling out his gun and pointing it at his father.
The man turned around and if looks could kill, Seonghwa would be history. But he held his ground and cocked his gun.
"I should have known." His father growled. "I must say, I'm impressed. You almost had me fooled. Especially when you fucked that pathetic slut in front of me. I thought that maybe you would have what it takes. But that doesn't matter anymore. None of this will matter as soon as I complete my machine." He started to laugh.,
"What is it you're planning? Tell me!" Seonghwa shouted at the top of his lungs. "Tell me, or I swear I will blow your brains out!"
His father just sneered. "You don't have the guts."
"I've done it before." Seonghwa said, his voice lowering into a deep snarl. "I'll do it again. I know what you made me do."
"And what is that?"
"I know you made me kill my own mother!"
Mercer laughed, a deep, hearty laugh. "And you did it beautifully. If it makes you feel any better, that won't matter anymore. It's all going to be erased."
Seonghwa didn't understand. He shook the gun as tears came to his eyes. "What does that mean?!"
"We will be happy again, Son. I promise. It'll be you and me. And none of this will matter anymore. Everything will be fixed, and will go back to the way it should be. Time will heal all wounds."
Not able to stand it anymore, Seonghwa roared and pulled the trigger.
Right after someone slammed into his side.
