Hongjoong kept the gas pedal flush with the floor as often as he could. The research facility was so far north that thankfully there was hardly any cars on the road. Especially the closer they got to midnight.

And he didn't care if there were any cop cars out on patrol. He had given San orders to shoot their tires if anyone tried to pull them over.

His mind was only on getting to their target.

And he prayed they got there before the Wolf Pack.

They needed a chance to try and talk to the people working there. To warn them... But he also wanted to know what the heck the Pack was after.

What was so important that they were willing to take on an almost militarized research facility?

He growled to himself as his questions remained unanswered.

Mingi glanced at him and placed a hand on his thigh. "Deep breath. You need to try and stay calm." His deep voice rolled over the older and he did feel himself relax a little.

"I know. There's just so much we still don't know about this, and I hate it!" He slammed the steering wheel with his hand.

Jongho leaned forward from the backseat. "Don't get angry. Then you're playing right into their hands. This has all been a game from the start."

Hongjoong glanced at the younger in the rear view mirror and nodded. "You're right. I'm sorry, I'm just not used to being out of the loop. Usually there is some kind of a clue I can latch on to. But this time... We've just had failure after failure."

"I wouldn't say that." San said, now leaning forward as well. "You helped me. You helped all of us Hongjoong, and gave us a second chance."

Mingi's hand tightened on his thigh in a silent agreement.

The car fell into silence, other than the constant roar of the engine, as they all prepared for themselves for what was about to happen.

Wooyoung tried to swallow the lump in his throat as he pushed his cheek into Seonghwa's thigh, seeking some sort of comfort.

He got it from the gentle fingers raking through his hair, and it helped. A little.

Mercer's words terrified him though.

This 'switch' he was talking about... It didn't sound like anything good.i

"We are approaching the target zone." The driver said. He lifted his foot off the gas pedal and let the truck coast for a distance.

Seonghwa looked down and let out a soft sigh and mouthed 'I love you' while rubbing his cheek.

Wooyoung blinked in response and leaned into the touch, enjoying the moment before it would all be taken away.

When the truck came to a stop, Mercer got out first. He stood off to the side with his hands clasped behind his back while Seonghwa step out and dragged Wooyoung behind him. Then force of his pull sent Wooyoung to his knees, forcing a whimper out of him.

"Get up." Seonghwa ordered, yanking on the rope again.

The younger stood on wobbling legs and kept his head bowed as he went to stand beside Seonghwa.

Then he was surprised by Mercer moving to untie him. He flexed his hands and started rubbing them to get some of the circulation back.

"You." The man growled, grabbing Wooyoung's jaw and squeezing before removing the gag. "Will do what I say, when I say to do it. Got it?"

Wooyoung nodded immediately, his heart beating faster with fear as he was forced to look at the man. Once again Mercer's voice and commands bend Wooyoung to his will.

"If I see you try to run, or get away, I won't hesitate to put a bullet in your skull." He ripped the gag out and then pushed Wooyoung back so hard he fell to the ground once more.

He sat there, keeping his head bowed, because he hadn't been told to do anything, so he knew that's where Mercer wanted him. And he would wait until he was given an order, because that's what he was programmed to do...

"Alright." Mercer started talking again as more men gathered around. "The trucks will go in first to bash the gates down. They are armored enough they should survive the impact. The rest of us will be waiting nearby. Once the entrance is clear, my team will enter the building and fight our way to the particle. Remember that is our goal and the only thing of importance. Everyone else will be providing us cover."

He got murmured agreements and the sound of several guns locking into place echoed around them.

"Now, I except resistance, of course. But I'm also excepting the people who held my son hostage to make an appearance too. You've already received your orders when it comes to them. Don't mess this up for me." He paused for a moment, then snapped his fingers twice.

Wooyoung stood up and went directly to his side, keeping his head bowed. He was fitted with a vest that had small nodes and wires all over it...

"Father, is that really necessary?!" Seonghwa asked, stepping forward.

"Only if he misbehaves." Mercer smirked and patted Wooyoung's cheek a couple of times. "When I tell you, you are going to run forward and get out in front of everyone, ok?" He purred.

Wooyoung nodded and worked to keep his lower lip from trembling as he looked down at the vest. So this is what he meant by a distraction...

He swallowed the lump in his throat and sank to his knees from a simple flick of Mercer's finger.

Mingi jumped out of the suv as soon as Hongjoong pulled off to the side of the road.

At Yeosang's instruction, they went around to the back side of the facility. There was less security and in his scans he found the Wolf Pack gathering in the woods to the front of the facility. They were hiding in the trees and gathering their forces.

The four of them stood on the hill and watched the guards patrolling the border of the facility.

"How do you want to do this?" Mingi turned to Hongjoong. The older sighed and rubbed his eyebrow.

"Yeosang, are they moving yet?" He asked, pulling up his bracelet.

"No. But there are still more cars coming..." The hacker's voice was tense.

San stepped forward and pulled up his own bracelet. "Sangie, what are their coordinates?"

"Sending them now."

A small hologram appeared with the coordinates. "Guide me." San said with a dark smirk as he opened the back of the car. "Jongho."

The fighter hurried to his side. "Get ready to run." He glanced back and Mingi and Hongjoong.

The pair stepped back and Mingi took this moment to take his lover's hand and pull him into a hug. Hongjoong turned his head to the side and rested his ear on the taller's chest.

Mingi closed his eyes and held the older's head in place while wrapping his other arm around Hongjoong's waist. He was too afraid to say anything, and yet there was so much he wanted to say at the same time...

The biggest thing being how scared he was. He swore to himself that he wasn't letting Hongjoong leave his sight.

He turned his head and saw Jongho and San setting up their biggest weapon that they would only get two uses out of. And now would be the perfect time.

"Mingi?" Hongjoong whispered.

The taller looked down again and rubbed his nose in Hongjoong's blue hair. "Yeah baby?"

"There's something I want to say... You know, just in case..."

Mingi's heart constricted at the thought. He didn't want to go through the what-ifs. It wasn't going to help anything right now. He started to speak when Hongjoong opened his mouth once more.

"I love you."

A tear rolled from Mingi's eye suddenly and he hugged Hongjoong even tighter. "I love you to Joong, so fucking much." He lifted Hongjoong off the ground so he could bury his face in the older's neck and just breath him in. Hongjoong's legs hung limp below him while he wrapped his arms around Mingi's neck.

They stood there for a long moment, allowing Mingi to place a few kisses on Hongjoong's neck before he slowly lowered him to the ground and they turned just as San finished clicking their weapon into place.

How Hongjoong had gotten his hands on a rocket launcher, Mingi had no idea, but at least they could use it now.

"What about Seonghwa and Wooyoung?" Hongjoong asked looking concerned.

"They are at the front of the group, I'm having San aim for the back with the trucks. Don't worry." Yeosang said. He sounded strained but confidant.

Hongjoong nodded and watched as San and Jongho lifted the weapon off the ground and aimed at the target area.

"Three degrees up." Yeosang instructed through the bracelet. Two of his drones were flying around San and Jongho as they supported the launcher together. "Four degrees right."

The pair grunted and rotated slightly.

"Two more degrees up and you're good. That should take care of a couple trucks. You'll have to reload quickly if you want to get another shot off."

Hongjoong and Mingi stepped forward to get the next rocket and held onto it.

"Ready?" San ask, placing his finger on the trigger.

"Ready." Three voices answered him.

His finger moved so fast, there was barely time to register it moving as the rocket went speeding through the air and San and Jongho where knocked backward by the force.

They scrambled back onto their feet while Mingi and Hongjoong worked to help reload the weapon.

Yeosang coached San through lining it up and they sent of the second one just as the first one landed.

A chorus of screams accompanied the explosion as the forest erupted in brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow.

"Good job." Yeosang said. "You've manage to destroy six of their trucks. That should put a good dent in things."

Tossing the weapon aside, San pulled out a rifle and cocked it before running down the hill. All the guards of the facility were heading toward the explosion, so they had the perfect moment to slip inside.

Now was the time to take it.

Seonghwa heard the missile just before the explosion happened. It was like it happened in slow motion. He lifted his head up and saw it flying over head.

He instantly dove for Wooyoung to protect him while the men around them protected him and his father.

The explosion sent everyone flying forward.

Seonghwa did his best to keep his body underneath Wooyoung's, mostly to protect him but also to keep one of the explosives from going off if it hit the ground just right.

A second explosion happened a few minutes later and soon they were surrounded by flames.

His father was livid as he stood up and took in the damage.

"REMAINING TRUCKS FALL OUT NOW!" He roared as everyone scrambled and tried to collect themselves.

Seonghwa had no idea who had just attacked them, but the look on his father's face told him that they had just unleashed a monster.

Four more trucks flew past them, driving at full speed right at the cement wall separating them from the research building. They had all been rigged with battering rams on the front of them that should absorb most of the contact.

He could see the armed guarded positioning themselves at the top of the wall.

Then bullets started raining down on the trucks.

It was no use. They were all bullet proof.

Seonghwa watched as all four of them collided with the wall, sending the men on top flying to their deaths as concrete ricocheted in every direction.

Gunfire erupted from the trucks as they spun around in a circle to start fending off the other guards.

"Move out!" Mercer called.

Seonghwa pulled Wooyoung up by the scruff of his shirt. "Stay close to me." He muttered as he gripped the younger's shirt, pulling him along to make it look like he was forcing him to run.

But Wooyoung kept stride easily.

Seonghwa smirked when he saw the boy lift a couple of knives off the belts of the men around him and start to tuck them into his own suit.

Then he turned forward and ran straight into battle happening in front of him.
