When Yunho finally woke up, it was due to a violent fit of coughing that made his entire body ache. His vision blurred as he rolled over and tucked into himself and tried to fight the feeling that he was going to cough up his own lung.
Hands were on his shoulder and back, rubbing him gently, while a voice tried to break through the ringing in his ears.
He had no idea where he was, what time it was, or what was going on. But there was one thing he knew.
He needed San.
And he tried to call out for him in between coughs.
The voice was still trying to break through the fuzz in his head and he put everything he had into focusing on the sound.
"...ea... De...ath..."
It was getting a little clearer.
Yunho took a deep breath and tried to calm down.
"That's it. Keep breathing. You're ok."
He turned his head and everything stopped for him in that instant, because San was leaning over him with a bright, tear filled smile.
And he looked absolutely perfect.
"Sannie." Yunho gasped, pulling San into as tight of a hug as he could with his weak body. "I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry." He whispered over and over again before he started coughing.
"Calm down." San said, rubbing the back of Yunho's head gently.
Yunho closed his eyes and groaned at the pain.
San shifted so he was laying down as well and pulled the older's head into his chest. Yunho tilted his head so that he could hear San's heart beating. That sound alone helped him calm down and come back to reality.
"What happened?" He whispered, keeping his eyes closed.
The younger started running his nimbler fingers through Yunho's hair and he smiled a little. This had to be one of his favorite feelings. It was something Yuri used to do...
"What do you remember?"
Yunho's forehead scrunched as he tried to think. "I... I remember running from you." He whispered, holding San tighter as he spoke. "And driving, but most of that is a blur. I think I remember going to the graveyard, and Hongjoong coming. But... After that it's just blank."
San let out a soft hum as he continued his gentle rubbing. "Hongjoong said that you were a few feet from the car when you collapsed. You've been asleep for a few days now and sick with a high fever. I was worried some of your scratches were infected, but I think it was a combination of the stress and the rain."
Yunho swallowed the lump in his throat and pressed his face harder into San's chest.
"Yunie... There's a lot that has happened. The compound is gone."
"What do you mean?" He tilted his head back and watched as San struggled to find the words to say. Then he looked around the room once more and didn't recognize anything. "Where are we?"
The younger was about to speak when the door to the room opened. "San? Are you... Yunho!" Hongjoong rushed forward and leaned over San to place a hand on Yunho's cheek. "I am so glad to see that you're awake."
"Hey Joong." He said weakly, not letting go of San. He was too afraid that if he did, the younger would disappear after everything that had happened.
"How are you feeling?"
"Like shit."
Hongjoong chuckled. "I bet."
"What happened?" Yunho asked, looking between the two of them.
Hongjoong sighed and ran a hand through his already disheveled hair, indicating he was stressed. Then he let out a long sigh. "I'm going to tell you something and I don't expect your forgiveness. But that won't stop me asking for it." Hongjoong paused and studied Yunho's face. When the driver stayed silent, he continued. "When we were on the way back from the graveyard I got a call from Agent Yeo... He fired me and said he was going to arrest everyone."
Yunho gasped and moved his hand from San's side to cover his mouth.
"So I made a split second decision and we packed everything up and left... Which in turn labeled you and I as criminals... We are wanted men. I'm sorry I took your choice away, but you were out cold and I didn't know what to do." Hongjoong sounded stressed about the situation and looked at Yunho with pleading eyes.
The younger just gave his friend a small smile and reached out to take his hand. "There is nothing to forgive." He turned to look up at San. "I would have made the same choice."
Tears formed at the corners of San's eyes as he buried his face in Yunho's hair and squeezed him.
Hongjoong gave a sigh of relief as well and bowed his head. "Thank you."
"So what's the plan now?"
"Well Seonghwa managed to contact us, so we know where he's located, but there's no way we would be able to get him and Wooyoung out. It's too heavily guarded. But he did give us a tip that the Wolf Pack is planning on hitting a research facility to the north of here. Outside of mafia control."
Yunho's eyes widened in surprise. "So what's the plan?" He asked again.
"Yeosang is supposed to be sending them a message to give them a heads up and see what they want to do about it. We are just waiting to hear back from them."
"And Ming and Jongho, are they ok?"
Hongjoong nodded. "We all made it out ok. Barely. The police was knocking on our door when we left."
Yunho closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He never thought he would become a criminal, but if that's how things needed to be right now he would accept it.
After a few moments, Hongjoong got up to go and checking on Yeosang's progress, leaving Yunho alone with San once more.
"I'm so sorry San." Yunho whispered, turning to press his face into the younger's chest again.
"You have nothing to apologize for... I did an awful thing to you." San whispered.
"But it wasn't your fault. I know it wasn't you." Yunho murmured, nuzzling his nose back and forth. "I shouldn't have freaked out like that."
San shushed him quietly and rubbed his head more. "It's in the past now, and we have other things we need to focus on now. But just tell me one thing... You forgive me, right?"
Yunho could hear San's voice shaking as he spoke. He wanted to tell the younger that there was nothing to forgive, that he had been stupid and reckless and wasn't thinking, that he himself had been scared and didn't know how to take the news that the person he loved more than anything in the world had killed his sister.
But he didn't.
Instead, he tightened his grip on San and whispered, "Yes San. I forgive you. For everything."
He could feel San's lip trembling against the top of his head and a few warm tears, but he didn't say anything. All he wanted to do was enjoy this moment. And as much as he wanted to pull San in and kiss him right now, he knew he needed to wait until he was feeling better.
And he was determined to get better, because he needed to show San just how much he loved him.
When he had been at Yuri's grave, he had spent a lot of time asking her for guidance. As much as he had wanted to hate San for what he had done, the feeling had never entered his heart. And he believed it was because of his sister.
She had been suffering for so long... So Yunho had accepted a long time ago that she was in a better place now. It was only going to be a matter of time before she relapsed and tried to kill herself again.
Yuri always knew what to say, too. Somehow, when Yunho had been at her grave, he could feel her telling him that everything was going to be ok. It was probably the fact that he was already getting sick from the rain, but he could have sworn he felt her hands on him.
She was ok.
And Yunho needed San in ways he would never need another person.

Yeosang bit down on the sucker in his mouth, needing to get his nerves out on something. The crunch was satisfying even through it also made him flinch.
He was waiting for a response from the lab.
His drones had been scanning every where north of here that he could think of, and they had picked up on a lap that was tucked into the side of a mountain.
It was heavily guarded, and Yeosang had actually set off one of their sensors. Several drones had flown out to survey the area immediately. He almost lost his drone to the chaos, which would have been bad because there was no saying when he could get more.
But now that he found the area, he was able to start searching for their network and he spent hours upon hours trying to break through their firewall so he could get a message to them personally.
He took his meals in his room, too afraid to leave his computer for too long. If there was one misstep in trying to gain entry, everything would be ruined.
Once he had finally managed to do it, he proceeded to send them a message using the coded network he had discovered.
Every step of this was risky... They had every right not to believe that his intentions were good, but they had to try.
If the Wolf Pack was planning to attack the facility, even with all their guards, Yeosang didn't think they stood a chance.
His thoughts drifted to Seonghwa and Wooyoung. He hoped they were still ok. Seonghwa hadn't tried to make contact with them again, which was understandable, but it made him nervous.
Yeosang let out a sigh and rubbed his eyes.
It had been almost twelve hours since he sent the message. Someone had to have seen it by now, and he had done it in a way that they could send a message back.
At the twelve hour mark, he would try sending another one.
The door to his room opened and Yeosang turned to see Jongho walking in. The younger kept his eyes on the ground as he got closer.
Yeosang realized it had been awhile since he had really spent any time with the fighter. He used to come and just sit with Yeosang while he worked, but that had stopped when they had set up here. "Hey." He said, wanting to strike up a conversation.
"Here's those contacts you wanted. Just make sure to use my name and the password I have highlighted at the bottom. With each contact I put a list of what they can provide us. Just ask for what you think we need. Most of them either owe me a favor or are good about letting me pay them back later." Jongho said, setting a piece of paper down on the desk.
Then he turned around and started to leave the room.
"Where are you going?" Yeosang asked, spinning his chair fully around.
"I have other work to do. Yunho is awake so once he's feeling better we are going to start planning." The younger said without looking over his shoulder.
"Oh! Is he doing ok?"
Jongho shrugged. "I think so. I haven't seen him yet, but Hongjoong has." He started walking again.
"Why does it feel like you're avoiding me?"
"I'm not. I just have things to do." Jongho said quickly then left the room, closing the door behind him.
Yeosang rolled his eyes and spun around. If he wanted to be that way, then he could.
But deep down, Yeosang missed spending time with him. Even if it was just sitting together while he worked. It was the company he liked.
After grabbing another sucker and sticking it in his cheek, Yeosang started typing out email to each of the people Jongho had given him.
They were going to need all the help they could get if they were going to take on the Wolf Pack.
