You let out a deep sigh as you sat down on the couch next to your boyfriend, who was keeping a vigilant eye out for any attackers. Suga's rifle rested in his lap, and his hand refused to leave it as the constant fear of something happening to you or him gripped him. With each passing moment, the two of you grew more and more tense.
Both of you were cooped up in a house, waiting for Daichi and Asahi to make contact with Oikawa, Iwaizumi, Bokuto, Akaashi, Kuroo, and Yaku so you could all team up with them and figure out how to get to the safe house to which you were trying to find. In the meanwhile, you and Suga were hoping the zombies stayed away long enough for Suga to recover from the exertion of traveling.
In a previous effort to save you, Suga had sprained his ankle and injured his leg to the point that he couldn't walk on it. While he had succeeded in saving you, he'd been struggling with his injury ever since. You, Daichi, and Asahi had been helping him along, but the severity of the injury given the situation you were in seemed to be weighing him down and putting a damper on his spirits.
You were in the midst of a zombie apocalypse and the going was getting tough. Watching your friends getting killed and having to kill them yourselves when they turned wasn't an easy thing to live through. You tried not to think about it too much in order to keep your hopes for survival up, so when the morbidity of the issue bothered you again, you turned your attention to Suga.
"How are you doing?" you asked him softly, running your hand through his slightly dirty, platinum locks of hair.
"Could be better," he answered with a weak smile as his brown gaze met your (e/c) eyes, "But at least I'm here with you."
You blushed as he kissed your cheek gently and rubbed your shoulder. The two of you enjoyed your moment together before it was interrupted by the sounds of footsteps nearby. Suga quickly picked up his gun, but you pushed it down when you saw Daichi and Asahi returning with the rest of the people they had set out to meet.
The suburbia in which you'd found and cleared out was the safest place you'd come across so far to set up a temporary base while you planned out your next move. You got up off the couch and opened the door for them so they could come inside and help. You sure hoped that they could provide more knowledge regarding the whereabouts of the safe house. You were starting to lose hope.

After a few hours of deliberation, you found yourself trekking through an alleyway, helping Suga along, as you all executed the plan you'd come up with. While you now knew where the safe house was, you were well aware of the high possibility of death along the way, since you had to travel through the city to get there.
One of Suga's arms was wrapped around your shoulders, while the other held onto a crutch that you'd managed to salvage from one of the suburban homes you'd inspected for food and supplies. You hated to listen to his labored breathing, so you whispered softly to him to motivate him to push through the pain.
"You're doing a good job, babe; keep going and we'll be able to rest for a bit soon, okay?" you told him gently.
"Thanks. I'm trying," he responded and glanced down at you for a moment before returning his gaze to where the alley led into the street up ahead. You knew that if anything bad happened, you were going to save him, no matter what. You needed him. But you were starting to sense an unfamiliar aura about Suga.
He seemed to be giving up, but you were absolutely determined to keep him alive.
"Be careful," Iwaizumi cautioned as everyone neared the end of the alley. He looked out past the corner, checking for any people or zombies lingering around before you all moved out into the open.
As everyone moved along the remnants of what used to be a main road, you found yourself shouldering Suga's entire weight from time to time when he tripped over pieces of rubble and uneven parts of the road. By this point, he was visibly struggling and in pain, making your heart clench with worry.
"You can't slow down yet, Koushi, we have to keep going," you told him gently yet firmly.
"I'm trying, (f/n)."
Noticing that Suga was struggling, Daichi hovered nearby, ready to help if he needed an extra hand.
Just as the entire group had reached the end of the main road and had started walking down another road that led through a neighborhood in the city, you heard the sound of an explosion. All of you whirled around to see one of the dilapidated buildings burst into flames and a few bodies fall out the window. Once the sound of that had subsided, you heard screams off in the distance.
"Oh god..." you whimpered, knowing exactly what was to come. You felt weight on your shoulders, and it caught you by such surprise that you fell over along with Suga. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to fall."
"It's fine. It wasn't your fault," he responded, shaking his head as he tried to help himself up.
By this point, Iwaizumi, Oikawa, and Kuroo had already started shooting the onslaught of zombies starting to approach all of you. Asahi, Yaku, and Bokuto shot down anymore of the undead that managed to find a way around the other three, while Akaashi and Daichi stayed near you and Suga.
You all tried to help Suga off the ground, but his own weakness seemed to frustrate him. "Ah, fuck it! Just leave me!" he growled, showing a streak of anger uncharacteristic to his personality.
"No! You can't give up, Koushi!" you yelled at him, suddenly feeling panicked at the thought that he could die.
"There's no point in saving me! I'm just a deadweight to the whole team! I'm gonna get you all killed!"
Akaashi turned and shot a nearby zombie while you and Daichi tried to lift Suga. You were already carrying his backpack, along with yours, and your muscles felt too fatigued to carry him anymore. But you had to save him. You just wished it was in your power to do so.
"We're not leaving... not without you!" you told him diligently.
Your heart started to beat faster as the zombies became more and more abundant. There was no way you'd be able to fight them all off. Daichi noticed this as well and took off his backpack before slinging it over the front of his body. He then, with your help, lifted Suga off the ground and onto his back so he could carry him.
"Shoot!" he ordered, pointing to nearby zombies who were heading for you.
You turned around and whacked one of them with Suga's crutch, sending its head flying off, and shoved the crutch into your backpack before shooting the rest of the zombies.
"Back off, guys! We need to go!" you shouted at everyone else.
Iwaizumi and Kuroo dragged Oikawa away from a group of zombies he was attacking while everyone else started to make an escape, running backwards so they could keep the undead from advancing as much as possible.
Even though Daichi was strong, you could see the strained look on his face as he sprinted down the street with Suga on his back. You stayed close to them and shot any nearby zombies since Daichi was at a disadvantage to do so.
"Come on, (f/n)!" Suga called out to you when he noticed you starting to lag. Your legs ached and your entire body was shaking with exertion and pain. Akaashi moved over towards you and grabbed your arm to keep you up on your feet.
Just when you thought you were going to pass out, you heard the sounds of engines rumbling, and turned to see four jeeps drive out from around a corner and onto the road beside you. The people in them pulled out guns and started shooting at the zombies, much to your relief.
You recognized Ushijima driving one of the jeeps, and he yelled, "Get in! Get all of them in!" The cars came to a stop and Daichi hustled to get in with Suga as Akaashi helped you up onto the seat before climbing in after you. The rest of the group climbed into whichever car was closest to them as a few other members of Shiratorizawa shot the zombies. Once everyone was in a car, they drove off and down the bumpy road, away to the safe house.

At the safe house, everyone was checked for bites and relieved to find none. Somehow, you'd all made it out alive. Suga had passed out during the ride to the safe house, so you helped Daichi carry him over to an infirmary, where everyone gathered around and waited for him to wake up.
Meanwhile, you held onto his hand tightly and sat down on his bed next to him as tears streamed down your face. Everyone sensed that you were having a difficult time and tried to help you calm down, but you refused to calm down until Suga woke up.
Once he did, you looked down into his brown eyes as they struggled to focus and take everything in. "(F/n)... Daichi... thanks for saving me..." he murmured as he moved your hand towards his face and pressed a gentle kiss against the back of it.
"I'm so glad you're okay. I wouldn't have been able to do this if you'd died," you whimpered and took his face in your hands as his head came to rest on your thigh.
"I'm just a wreck, and I'm not even that strong. You would've been able to go on without me."
"No, I wouldn't have! I need you!"
"Why?"
"Because I'm pregnant!" you nearly screamed at him out of pure frustration.
Everyone in the room fell silent and stared with wide eyes at the two of you. More tears started to cloud your vision so you wiped your eyes quickly and sniffled.
"I'm pregnant... and I don't want to have to raise our baby without you." When everyone looked over at your abdomen, you snapped, "It's only been two months! You can hardly see anything!"
Suga couldn't help but chuckle as he moved his head towards your abdomen and kissed it gently. "I sure hope our child is as strong as you are," he commented softly.
As the two of you sat together, talking about the sudden news you'd just given everyone and enjoying each other's company, Daichi wiped happy tears away from his eyes while Asahi tried to figure out when you'd had time to actually conceive this child. Bokuto explained the beauty of life as if he knew it all to Akaashi, who was trying to figure out what your child would look like. Yaku speculated how you were going to take care of it while Kuroo and Oikawa planned how they were going to help repopulate during the crisis that was the zombie apocalypse. And, finally, Iwaizumi and Ushijima sat back and watched everyone else go into a bit of a frenzy.
"Cheers to surviving that shit," Iwaizumi mumbled and held up a glass of whiskey, which elicited a nod from Ushijima as he clinked his own glass against Iwaizumi's.
