True Feelings {Semi Eita} (Request)

You get a little too drunk at a party and reveal a pretty big secret... whoops!

Requested by starijisung

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You could barely contain your excitement as you knocked on the door of your longtime friend's apartment which was conveniently located in the same complex as yours. As your other friends had always mentioned, you and Semi were never far from one another and had been practically inseparable since you'd first met each other in high school. You'd been study buddies, occasional pepper partners, each other's number one supporters, and wingmen. The latter of that list only worked in situations where you tried to set each other up rather than go somewhere together to scope out the crowds, since most people just assumed the two of you were together.
When the door slowly opened, revealing your tall and constantly annoyed-looking friend, you cheered, "Are you ready to party?!"
He raised an eyebrow at you as his brown eyes examined your nicer than usual outfit. "You must be since you actually tried to dress yourself," he commented, checking his pockets for his keys and wallet before stepping into the hallway and shutting the door behind him.
"Hate all you want; you're not killing my vibe tonight," you told him, placing your hands on your hips defiantly.
"I'm not hating," he corrected you, "I'm just wondering who you're trying to impress."
You narrowed your (e/c) eyes at him as the two of you began making your way out of the apartment complex and to the club a few blocks down where the party was set to take place. "I'll have you know that my friend wanted me to dress nice and it's her birthday so I'm gonna do what she wants!"
He scoffed quietly and muttered, "Okay, then."
"Speaking of outfits, yours is so boring, Eita. Like, a black turtleneck sweater and black pinstripe pants? Really? You look like some desperate street artist skater kid. All that's missing is the beanie. And maybe a spider tattoo, or something else edgy."
Semi had always argued with you over his outfit choices, which he was extremely self-conscious about since he'd been mocked by Satori many times in the past. Tonight, however, your scathing  comment earned a hearty laugh from him, nearly making you jump in surprise. "I took my inspiration from you! I thought you'd think I looked good for once!"
For the record, you did think he looked good, but you liked teasing him more than complimenting him since his ego didn't need the extra boost. "Why don't you leave the sad street girl look to me and stick to your typical business casual style, okay?"
Seeing a smile on his face always made you blush uncontrollably, so you were thankful he wasn't looking over at you this time. Despite remaining friends for so long, you couldn't deny that you had developed feelings of something more than friendship towards him. Sometimes, his atrocious hot-headedness and competitive behavior turned you off and made you swear off ever wanting to date him, but his handsome appearance and tenderness he was capable of showing towards people he cared about always drew you back to the idea of being with him. He never seemed like he had wanted to be in a relationship, though, and you saw the apathy he displayed when discussing how he'd broken up with previous girlfriends. Because of his lack of interest, you decided it was best to keep your feelings to yourself and hope you found your match, even though you couldn't help but think it was him.
When the two of you arrived at the club and made your way inside, you quickly put your thoughts about Semi out of your mind to greet your other friends and whomever they'd decided to bring along. Another one of your old friends, Ushijima Wakatoshi, was in attendance since he happened to be dating the friend whose birthday you were celebrating, and you greeted him with a quick hug before allowing him to shake Semi's hand. When he did, you saw his dark eyes look at his friend's outfit with somewhat of an amused smile on his face.
"I thought the tortured artist look was (f/n)'s style, not yours," he commented, raising his voice to be heard above the pounding bass from the the upbeat music echoing throughout the building.
Semi's nose crinkled in annoyance. "At least I look young, okay? You look like someone's father," he retorted, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
Ushijima, who wore a button up shirt and dark jeans, simply watched his former teammate with an unbothered stare. "You think I care about the opinion of an e-girl?"
"I'm surprised you even know what an e-girl is," Eita grumbled.
"Okay, friendly reminder that every time you roast Eita, you're also roasting me!" you butted in.
Your ash blonde haired friend looked over at you with eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "But you were making fun of me just a few minutes ago?"
"It's fine when I do it! But it just hurts too much coming from Wakatoshi," you joked, making them both chuckle.
When they started talking again, you left them to catch up in their brusque manner and joined your other friends instead to head over to the bar for celebratory shots. Needless to say, they were the first of many more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After having an ample amount of alcohol, you were feeling blissful and carefree, which showed in the way you danced with your friends without caring who was watching. Semi and Ushijima didn't care how you were practically screaming when you returned from the dance floor numerous times to order more drinks, since watching you all from where they sat at the bar was keeping them entertained. While Ushijima would've normally put up a fight with his dear girlfriend when she pulled him over to the dance floor, he succumbed to her will since he wanted her to have a good time. And because he knew he'd never hear the end of it if he didn't.

You continued dancing with your friends until you realized they were all starting to pair up with other dance partners. Between the mass of sweaty, moving bodies, you could see Semi sitting at the bar, a look of annoyance on his features as a few girls near him tried to make conversation with him. Feeling a sudden surge of jealousy run through you, you marched over to the bar just in time to hear one of the girls beside him ask, "So, did you come here by yourself?"

Putting your hand on her shoulder and moving her out of the way, you announced, "Nope! He's with me!" The dirty look she directed towards you didn't phase you at all as you reached for Semi's hand and pulled him away from his seat. "Get over here and dance with me, you sexy beast!"

He regarded you with a look of confusion, but still obliged your request and stood up so he could let you drag him over to the dance floor. "What was that about?" he questioned you as you turned to face him, putting your hands on his arms to keep him from being snatched away by someone else in the crowds and to balance yourself, since the room was spinning slightly.

"Maybe I just didn't want you to dance with anyone else," you suggested coyly, making him let out a sigh of irritation.

"But was calling me a sexy beast really necessary?" he grumbled, watching you as you started dancing to the music again, trying to distract him.

"It wasn't a lie!"

"What? Where is this coming from, (f/n)?" he pressed.

You shook his body slightly with your hands before moving them up to his shoulders. "Come on, Eita! I'm obviously doing this because I love you!" you confessed boldly, slurring your words slightly. He stood in silence for a few moments, a look of pure shock on his face. "Oops! Did I say something I shouldn't have?"

"No. I just... need a minute." He grabbed your hand and led you over to where Ushijima was dancing with your friend. "Hey, make sure she doesn't puke or pass out. I need a drink," he called out to him, making him nod in return.

"What are you drinking? I'll go with you!" you offered as you latched onto his arm again.

"I don't know, but it's gonna be strong. Stay here for a while." With that, he pushed your hand off of him and walked away, disappearing into the crowds.

Sunlight shining through the gaps in your shutters roused you from your deep slumber, and your hand immediately went to your head when it began to pound angrily in response to the amount of alcohol you'd consumed last night. Thankfully, when you looked over at your bedside table to check the time, you found a glass of water, some toast, and a small tablet of pain relief medication. Grudgingly, you ate the cold toast so you could take the medication and get your body to forgive you.

Upon standing up, you nearly kicked over a trashcan that had been moved to the floor beside your bed. Thankfully, it was empty, meaning you hadn't gotten too out of hand. When you'd risen to your feet, you were grateful to find that you'd managed to kick off your clothes and change into your pajamas in your drunken stupor before getting into bed. You were also surprised to find that one of your beloved pillows had disappeared, but you soon found that your friend was using it when you walked around to the other side of your bed.

Seeing Semi curled up underneath a blanket on the floor, sleeping peacefully warmed your heart. He must've gotten up earlier to make you some toast and leave water and medication for you to have when you awoke. You couldn't remember what you'd said last night off the top of your head, but you knew it was bad since you'd recalled him being standoffish for the rest of the night. Because of this, you were shocked to find that he had stayed over, but appreciative all the same.

You sat down on the floor beside him and couldn't help but reach towards him to brush his slightly messed up hair away from his face. You wanted to kiss him, but you knew you shouldn't, and your hand quickly withdrew from him when he took a deep breath and rolled onto his back. His chocolate brown eyes slowly opened and examined his surroundings before meeting with your own (e/c) ones, making your heart thud in your chest.

"Good morning," you greeted him with a gentle smile your voice slightly hoarse from all the yelling at the club, "Thanks for staying here to make sure I was alright."

He directed his eyes elsewhere as he sat up, revealing a plain t-shirt and pajama pants he must've stopped by his apartment to grab before sleeping over. "Just wanted to make sure you didn't die," he muttered softly.

With a small sigh, you said, "Listen, I know that you got upset with me at some point last night, so I just wanted to apologize for what I said that hurt your feelings."

Anger seemed to burn behind his eyes when he looked over at you again and asked, "Do you even remember what you said to me?" You took a moment to think, wracking your brain for answers, and the time you took struggling to remember made Semi even angrier. "Well, if you can't even recall what you said then it must not have been important to you at all," he growled and quickly got up to his feet, throwing the blanket off of his body.

"N-No, Eita, wait!" you called after him and jumped up from the floor, "I told you that I loved you, didn't I?"

Your words made him stop in his tracks, but he refused to turn around and face you. "You did. And if you didn't mean it, then this is a really sick and twisted joke, (f/n)."

"It's not a joke, Eita," you admitted, your body shaking with each pound of your heart. You couldn't believe you were doing this right now. "I do love you. I have loved you for some time now." You hated that he wouldn't look at you and, without warning, tears began to well up in your eyes, making it hard for you to talk. "I love you and your stupid hot-headedness and how you always make everything into a competition even though I hate how much of a dickhead you can be sometimes, especially when we play Mario Kart. I love the way you look at me whenever I make you laugh. I love your smile. I love your outfits even though they're stupid and lame and they suck and your fashion sense is horrible! But just know that you look so sexy in a turtleneck!" Despite your words being humorous, you still burst into tears when you finished, "And I hate the way you're not looking at me right now because I just want to see your face when I tell you that I love you, damn it!"

You put your face in your hands as you sobbed. The room was painfully silent aside from the sound of your own crying, and you heard footsteps approach you. Warmth covered your hands as Semi placed his own over them and pulled them away from your face so he could hold it instead. You opened your eyes slightly when you felt his fingers wipe tears away from your face and saw him regarding you with a tender expression. Your eyes fluttered shut once again when his face neared yours and he pressed passionate kisses against your lips, making your hands move to his shoulders so you could pull him closer to you.

"I love you too, (f/n). I've been waiting too long to say that and I should've told you a lot sooner," he confessed when you broke away, making you blush. He kissed your red cheek and released your face so he could bring you into an embrace. "So, I guess you must've meant everything else you said last night too, then. Like when you called me a sexy beast," he mentioned with a chuckle.

"Drunk words, sober thoughts, like that one philosopher said, right?" you replied with a smile.

"Something like that," he chuckled and tightened his grip around you, resting his face beside yours and planting another kiss against your temple. "Guess I'll add more turtlenecks to my wardrobe."

A/n: okay, thoughts about Semi in a turtleneck because I can totally see that for him???

also, no shade intended if your style is e-girl/boy, street artist, skater, sad girl/boy, or anything else in between. Keep workin it.
