Boredom {Takahiro Hanamaki}

Hanamaki sighed softly as he tapped his pencil against his notebook. The teacher had given the entire class time to work on their homework, but he couldn't really focus. For one thing, he was too bored out of his mind to focus, and, for another thing, he was too busy trying to decide what he should do to alleviate his boredom.

His dark eyes scanned the classroom, glancing at his fellow classmates as they talked in their small groups and did their work. Then, his eyes fell on one of his best friends.

You were sitting at your desk alone and gazing out the window, not even attempting to start your homework. You brushed your (h/l) (h/c) strands of hair away from your face as you kept your eyes trained on the fluffy clouds roaming the skies outside.

Usually, Hanamaki didn't bother disturbing you during class. Since you usually did your homework during class, you didn't quite appreciate his interruptions, and told him to save whatever he wanted to say until lunch or after school. But today, you didn't look focused at all, so he took the opportunity to swoop in and sit down next to you.

He picked up his book bag and his notebook before migrating over to your desk and occupying a seat next to you. "Hey, (f/n)," he greeted you, bringing your mind back to reality.

You turned and looked at him as he set his stuff down beside you and watched you expectantly. "Hey, Makki... What do you want?" you asked softly, stifling a yawn with your hand.

"I'm bored."

"Tell me something I don't know."

"So I decided to come over here and sit with you since it's obvious that you're not trying to get any work done so, therefore, you won't be mad at me for distracting you," he stated with a small smirk.

You looked over at your open textbook, then down at the blank page in your notebook where you were supposed to be copying down homework problems. You then sighed and rolled your eyes.

"Don't try to trick me into thinking that you're busy because you're obviously not," he warned.

It was quite clear that both your textbook and your notebook were only open to convince yourself and those around you that you were doing work even though that wasn't the case at all. "Alright, Makki," you said and leaned on your desk as you turned to face him, "What do you want?"

"I don't want to be bored anymore..." He put his elbow on your desk, using his arm to prop up his chin. His eyes looked listless and weary, and that normally would've bothered you hadn't you known that he was usually bored whenever he didn't have anyone to tease.

"I'm not your babysitter," you complained. Hanamaki thought about how contrary your words were when you instinctively fixed his collar and brushed some stray dust off the shoulder of his uniform shirt. A shit-eating grin crept onto his lips when you did this, and you blushed before stuttering, "S-Shut up!"

"I didn't say a word," he responded smugly and shrugged. You lightly smacked the back of his head and huffed. He picked up his pencil and started drawing small circles on the side of your paper, making you roll your eyes. "Anyway, how about we play that game we usually do whenever you're not shooing me away to do your work?" he suggested.

When you nodded, he felt his heart thud with excitement, but he kept his calm composure. As kids, you and Hanamaki had made a modified version of a questioning game, making a single rule: you couldn't think before you answered. The two of you sometimes played it with each other, or with Mattsukawa, Oikawa, or Iwaizumi as well.

"You start first, (f/n)," Hanamaki goaded.

"Okay. What do you think about the people at this school?" you asked.

"They're okay. Do you like anyone at this school?" he answered, leaning closer to you with curiosity.

"Yes. Do you like anyone at this school?"

"Yes. Have you ever kissed anyone before?"

"No, unless you count that time that I kissed that bruise of yours on your arm. Why do you care if I've kissed anyone before?"

"I'm just curious. Who's the person that you like at this school?"

"You. How do you feel about me?" You blushed profusely at the fact you'd just said that.

"I feel a very close attachment to you. Do you love me?"

"Yes. Do you?"

"Yes. Will you go out with me?" He smiled as he leaned in closer to you, moving one of his hands onto one of yours.

"Yes. Are you sure you want to be my boyfriend?" You grabbed his hand in return and tried to cope with your racing heart.

"Of course. Will you let me kiss you?" His breath tickled your lips.

"Only after class is ov—"

You were cut off by the sound of the bell ringing, and Hanamaki didn't waste any time in moving closer to you and pressing his lips against yours. You grumbled quietly before returning the favor and kissing him back fervently until you remembered that you were still in the classroom and your teacher was watching you awkwardly.

You cleared your throat loudly and pushed your new boyfriend's face away from yours before packing up your things. He did the same, and you dragged him out of the classroom while apologizing to your teacher simultaneously and continuing your make out session in the hallway.
