"(Y/n) when are you going to confess? It's painful seeing you so hopelessly in love!" Nishinoya said with a groan as he received a smack on his head with a newspaper by ennoshita.

He winced in pain as he continued to study as he could possibly. I sighed and looked down at my own half finished math equations. "I don't know..I don't want to ruin our friendship" I said making Tanaka sigh in exaggeration.

I looked over at him with an eyebrow rise and he slammed his hands on the low table making most of us jump at the sudden sound. "You always say that! Why not take the risk?" Tanaka said as he also received a whack from ennoshita.

"Guys! Keep studying and leave him alone with his love life-" ennoshita began but I sighed softly. "I don't want to lose the most important person in my life over my stupid feelings" I admitted making kinoshita frown at my words and walked over and dropped his work in front of me.

"I'm only letting you copy this one time because I feel bad for you" he said with a pat on the shoulder. Nishinoya gasped as he pretended to cry. "What about me!? I-I got issues too! Narita come over here and let me copy-" he started but narita shook his head in disbelief. "No way! I know you're well and happy with asahi-San!"

Tanaka bursted into laughter as Nishinoya groaned annoyingly and went back into writing useless formulas on his math homework. I stopped moping around and quickly started to copy off of kinoshita so he can hurry and do his other work as well.

It's true though. The only reason why I haven't admitted my feelings towards my upperclassmen is because I don't want to lose him. Me and him are really close and we are inseparable. It's a surprise to me that he hasn't caught on yet but also thankful for his oblivious ways.

I liked Sugawara when i was a first year joining the volleyball team with Tanaka and Nishinoya and the others. He was standing with two other males that looked intimidating but turns out he was a relatively easy going guy.

I remember being so nervous of joining the team due to my doubt of my own skills and general anxiety. But he welcomed me, us, with a wide smile and made us feel better and comfortable.

I was really bad at setting and receiving but he went out of his way to teach me everything he knew to help me improve. I always looked up to him. The way I felt much better when he was next to me.

These feelings grew more and quickly as days passed by and then when we hit the next year. I now am a second year and sugawara is now a third year. He got more attached to me but I wasn't complaining one bit.

He would and still does tease me about how much taller I am from him even though I'm a year younger than him. It always brings me a smile onto my face whenever I see him, in the halls or out in public, how our eyes meet he always goes out and waves at me.

My hopes weren't high at the start of liking him but as times passed by and how close we became, my hopes got quite high until one day an incident happened. I was looking for the said male so we could walk to practice together.

I went out at the outside courtyard and went to the side of the gym building but caught myself before I got seen. I leaned against the gym wall and peeked over. My heart felt like it fell onto the floor and shattered into a billion little pieces.

Sugawara was talking with a girl with a big smile. She was holding out a note with both of her hands. She was really cute looking. She was shorter than him, and she was quite timid. Instead of crying, I smiled at the thought.

I turned back and instead of going into the gym for practice I headed to a nearby bathrooms. I sat down on one of the empty stalls and smiled. That would be really great for Sugawara. A cute small girl just for him and not some guy who was way taller than him. Who wasn't a loudmouth as well.

I sat there with thoughts running a million miles an hour. Not knowing what to feel or what to say. My eyes managed to shed tears but at the time I didn't even process that I was in shock.

But Tanaka was right. What's the point of not taking the chance? It hurts to just be hopelessly pinning after a person for so long. Especially when they are a close friend of yours.

I finished copying the homework off of kinoshita and handed it back to him with a smile. "Thanks man, I'll get you something from the convenience store" I said which made him smile shyly and nodded at the gesture.

"What about me? Can I get a blue popsicle?" Nishinoya asked as he looked over at me with puppy eyes. I sighed as I brought my hand out and ruffled his hair. "If you finish your homework before leaving then yes" I said earning a gasp from his lips as he started to quickly jot random things down so it looks like he did work.

-Time skip after practice-

"Come on, kinoshita" I said as I tugged on his sleeve making him stop his conversation with Tanaka. He smiled brightly as I remembered my repayment price. Nishinoya quickly walked next to me as well as we entered the store.

Kinoshita shyly got a bag of chips which I looked at him with a confused expression. "You sure you don't want anything else? I'm paying" I told him as I pushed him back to the snack isle to pick something else too.

He came back with two more bags and Nishinoya got two popsicles with a smile. I quickly payed for the things and we exited the store quickly. "Tanaka! Here!" Nishinoya said as he shoved the other popsicle to him which Tanaka gladly accepted it with a smile. "Thanks bro!"

Kinoshita bowed shyly and went over to ennoshita and narita. "I got you guys a bag too" he said as he handed them a bag, earning him a ruffle of his hair from both of them. "Jeez! You're such a softie" ennoshita said making kinoshita blush and look down at his sneakers with a soft grin.

"Hey (y/n)!" I heard my name as I turned and my heart jumped a little at the sight of Sugawara. He jogged over at where we were. "Ready to walk home?" He asked as I nodded and waved the others goodbye.

"Can I come over at your house? My a/c broke the other night" I said as I rubbed the back of my head sheepishly. Sugawara nodded eagerly. "Yeah! I also got ice cream so we can eat that!"

We made it to his house and we quickly ran over to his room. I threw my bag to the side as he did as well. "I still find it funny that I have to buy large shirts just for you to wear" sugawara said as he threw me a shirt he had to buy and some shorts.

"Well I'm sorry I'm so big!" I whined as I stuck my tongue out at him. I started to change not caring that he was in the room. I secretly wished he would look at me so he could get an idea of what he was to me. I wished he would see me more than just a friend.

He changed as well as we turned towards each other with a smile. "Wanna go get some ice cream now?" He asked with a smile and I nodded softly. We walked downstairs with our feet softly padding against the wood floor as we made our way to his freezer.

He took the tubs out and got cups. "So~ how was school today? How were classes?" Sugawara asked as he scooped out ice cream onto the cups with a little struggle. I sighed as I made him let go of the spoon and swiftly did it.

"It was okay. The usual shit to be honest. How about you?" I asked as I finished scooping his cup and handed it to him. He pouted as he took it and looked to the side. "I could've done it myself you know~" he tried to admit.

"Mhm ~ whatever you say" I said as I finished scooping mine and went to put the tub back into the freezer and got a spoon. "Mine are doing okay but this one teacher-ugh! Let me tell you! So last week she decided to-..." sugawara began as we went up to his room again.

He pushed some stuff around to create room on his bed. He sat against his headboard and I sat on the bottom edge of his bed while I listened to him vent about this one teacher.

I took a scoop and listened to him very intently making sure not to miss any information. "She really did that? You should report that" I said as he snapped his fingers quickly and sat up. He set the cup down carefully on the bed and looked at me with a smile.

"But guess what?! I reported her and the principal is looking into it!" He said with a proud look on his face. I blushed seeing how happy he seemed and I looked back down to avoid showing signs of my face.

"Oh? Are you hot? We should go out at my window!" Sugawara suggested as he stood and took his cup. He walked over to his window and opened it up and signaled me to come over as well.

He climbed over the window and sat against the roof and waited for me to join him. "Won't your mom get mad?" I said as I shut the window and sat down next to him careful not to fall over. He shook his head as he looked forward with a smile.

"Look how pretty that looks!" I looked over that the sky and I was taken back. It was such a pretty gradient from orange going to violet. I took the last bit of my ice cream and set my cup down.

I suddenly got the urge to confess to sugawara so I quickly made up my thoughts and words I was going to say and I took a deep breath in before I turned towards him with a determined look.

He gave me a glance and confused look as he pulled the spoon away from his lips. "Hm? What's up?" He asked as he set his own ice cream down and turned his attention towards me.

"Can I tell you something really important?" I asked making Sugawara jump at the mention of this certain talk. "Y-yes of course!" He said as he fixed his hair a little and smiled for me to start.

I looked down nervously almost feeling my determination leave from my fingertips but I fixed my mindset quickly. I fidgeted with my fingers until I finally got to mutter a few words out.

"I've had a crush on someone who-" I began but Sugawara caught me off with a whistle. "Damn! (Y/n)! Who's the lucky girl?" He asked as he jabbed at my side with his elbow. He had a huge smile but his eyes were telling me something else.

-is not a girl and is a close friend of mine" I finished. I fumbled around with my fingers waiting for Sugawara to say something. "Oh! That's cool too! Love has no gender right? Now who's the lucky person?" He began again. I sighed and rubbed my neck nervously.

"Well, he's a really cute guy. He's outgoing and very caring. He's also shorter than me and I find it really cute" I began which made him gasp loudly making me stop in my tracks.

"(Y/n)?! Don't tell me you have a crush on Nishinoya? No wait! Hinata?!" He said making me laugh in laughter from how oblivious he was. I shook my head violently. "No! I know those two are happily taken!"

"Hmm..then who is it?" He asked as he started to think hard about who it might be. I sighed as I took my chance and let it out in the open air.

"It's you! I like you a lot koushi! Since like a year ago.." I said the last part in a whisper but he heard it loud and clear. He stopped talking and thinking out loud and stared at me in disbelief.

I started to wonder if he was going to hate me. What if he thought I was gross and that I'm only a friend to him?! These thoughts kept rushing in my head until a bit thought came into my mind. What if koushi is taken? What if he's in a relationship with that girl from before-

"Ack! Sorry Sugawara! I forgot that you might actually be in a relationship already so it's really not cool for me to be doing this!" I began. Sugawara only titled his head in confusion but I chuckled nervously trying not to burst in tears in front of him.

"Forget I said anything! We can go back to being normal" I suggested. I turned back to look at the sky as I bit my bottom lip trying to fight the urge to jump down from the roof and runaway and never come back.

The urge to just crawl into a tiny ball and disappear with no trace of my footprint anywhere. How embarrassing. Confessing your feelings to someone who already is taken? I tried to refocus my thoughts and mind but nothing was working when Sugawara was staring at me intently.

"Who said I was taken? And who said I wanted to go back to normal?" He said after the long silence. I turned to look at him but it pained me. He had tears running down his reddish cheeks. "Why are you telling me to forget about your feelings?!" He shouted.

He began to sniffle as he wiped his tears with his palms harshly. "Wait Sugawara-" I began but he harshly grabbed the front of my shirt and gripped it very tightly making me hold in my breath.

"Don't ever tell me to forget about your feelings because that's the last thing I ever wanna do! I fucking care about you" he shouted as he lightly shook me. I laid my hand on top of his tight fists while he cried.

"Suga-" I said in a whisper but he looked up and stared at my eyes with a strong look. "I fucking love you damn it!" He admitted as he dropped me from his grip making me finally able to breathe.

"When I first laid eyes on you, it was like love at first sight. I love being near you, I love seeing you be so cheerful when you're next to me. So hearing you say that you like me too brings me joy, but don't you ever try to disregard your own feelings" sugawara said in a run on sentence making me blush furiously. He liked me too and around the same time I was falling in love with him.

"Damn Sugawara I never knew" I said as I pulled him towards me. He fell into my arms and held onto me very tightly. I ran my hand down his hair as he calmed down his tears and the sniffle.

After a few moments I pulled him away and looked deeply into his eyes with a smile. "So what do you wanna do?" I asked knowing the answer already. Sugawara giggled as he brought both of his hands and held onto my cheeks with a blush. "Kiss you" he said as he smashed our lips together making us giggle since our teeth touched.
