In a game,
It's either you win
Or you lose.

"Moshi moshi? Hai, hai. I already told you, I'll be there. Yes, you said 7:30 AM! I remember the plan, I remember the plan. I'm leaving now, for crying out lou- alright, alright! Geez! Jaa mata ne," she muttered into her phone, packing up her gadgets and all her wires, whatnot into her backpack.
Sighing, she zipped up the bag, carrying it to the kitchen, where she grabbed her coffee and headed out with a [preferred breakfast food you can eat on the go], placing her headphones on her head and playing her ridiculously awesome mixtape.
Heading towards the station, she walked, not surprised to see a crowd already formed at the entrance.
Swiping her card on the scanner, she passed through the ticket gate, hurrying up her pace to quickly get to her train before it was to come.
Hearing the sound of the incoming train, she stood near the platform.
She had let the flood of people pass before heading to the crowded train herself, finding an free handle to hold on to during the ride.
The train ride didn't last too long until it reached her stop, where she got off respectively.

Scoffing at the text she had just received, she quickly sent a message back to where it had initially came from, annoyed at her friend's impatient attitude this morning.

"It's about time you came, slowpoke," Kuroo greeted, opening the door. "Ohayo,"
"Shut up, you child. You never learn to wait," (f/n) hissed, taking off her shoes. "Anyways, who else came?"
"Like, two people. You know Bokuto, and... have I told you about Kenma? I did, didn't I?" he answered, walking towards his living room.
"Who's Kenma?" you asked, "you never mentioned Kenma,"
"Hontou? That's impossible! I'm sure I mentioned him once or twice," he replied.
"Never,"
"Sou desu ka? That's weird," he noted, opening the door to the living room. "Bokuto, Kenma, this is (l/n) (f/n). She's an old friend of mine, and I brought her today because... I don't really know. (f/n), these are my friends, Bokuto and Kenma,"
"Eh?! You brought a girl, Kuroo? I thought you'd bring another guy! Sweet, a girl! Hi, (l/n)-san! Nice to meet you, I'm Bokuto Koutarou," a boy with striped spikey hair waved, grinning widely.
"I'm... Kozume Kenma. You can call me Kenma, I'm fine with it. You uh, play?" a pudding-head teen asked shyly, turning to face the newcomer from his seat.
"Kind of," she shrugged, dropping her bag on a seat on the couch. "So, do we get started now?"
"Yeah, yeah. What do you wanna play first?" Kuroo questioned, pulling out a box of games from underneath his TV. "We have Halo,"
"Are you sure? Um... it's kind of challenging," Kenma quietly stated, not looking at anyone.
(f/n) smiled. "Oh? I'm a master at games! Right Tetsu? We used to play things like... you know. PrincessPartyPro, LoveStory Volume 3, and even Kiss Candy Supreme! There was even this RPG called...what was it again?"
"Flower Girl's Birthday Bash," Kuroo answered without hesitation.
The two others just stared, dumbfounded. "You play that?"
"Of course! They were all terribly difficult," she confessed.
"Um... Are you sure you want to play... Halo...?" Kenma asked once again to clarify the girl's answer.
"Is it about angels?" She tilted her head to once side, curious.
"No, but it's still really fun," Bokuto went on.
"Alright, I'll try it then!" she grinned.
--
"(l/N) aRE YOU SURE YOU'VE NEVER PLAYED HALO BEFORE BECAUSE- HEY! yOU KILLED ME AGAIN?! HEY HEY HEY GIVE ME A CHANCE HERE! UNFAIR! I CALL HACKS! THAT's cHEATING!" Bokuto yelled, frustratingly mashing buttons on the controls.
"I hope you guys seriously didn't believe what I had said earlier. I've been playing MMORPGs, RPGs, Sandbox RPGs, Roguelikes, MMORTSs, Turn-based, heck, even sports games, since I was younger. Kuroo and I always used to go at it, and I ended up winning three-fourths of the time," she laughed mischievously, calmly getting another kill.
"Damn straight. Though, I was the one who taught you all those-" Kuroo started, only to be cut off.
"Lies, Tetsu! Lies, lies~" she chuckled, not taking her eyes off the screen.
"Shut up," the bedhead retorted.
Kenma had been silent, watching how (f/n) had been playing. Her skills were enough to make him doubt his own.
"(l/n)-san," Kenma mumbled, "I challenge you to a duel,"
"Ohoho~ what's this?" Kuroo sneered, "two gamer lovers finally realizing that it's game over for their hearts and giving into the lush feeling of affectio-"
"No. I absolutely despise her and want to make sure I completely disintegrate her the next round," the pudding-head snapped, who was undoubtedly annoyed at the constant deaths he was getting.
"Woah Kenma, calm down. It's just a-"
"Don't you dare finish that sentence,"
"Sure, Kenma-kun! I'd love to tear your head off in another round~"
"That won't be happening next time," Kenma whispered softly, smirking very, very subtly to himself.
--
"Not shabby, Kenma-kun! Again!" (f/n) proposed, excitedly choosing 'Rematch'.
"Y-You guys! You're just having fun butchering me and Kuroo!" Bokuto whined, "Kuroo, we need to team up or something to survive,"
"Ugh, you're right," Kuroo agreed, sighing, "but first, I need to get the pizza outside. Let's take a break?"
"There is no such thing as a break," (f/n) stated, "shall we go again?"
Kenma nodded, also choosing the 'Rematch' option.
--
"H-Hey, it's getting really late-"
"It's 2:24 AM, Bokuto-kun! That's not late at all," (f/n) laughed, eyes still glued to the screen.
"Can I play now?" asked Kuroo, who was boredly scrolling through his phone.
"After this round," Kenma replied.
"You said that like, at least twenty rounds ago!" the bedhead insisted, "plus, it's my console,"
"Okay, okay. Seriously after this round," she nodded.
"Like hell I'll believe that..." he muttered.
"I'm being serious!" she chuckles.
The endgame screen flashes once again, (f/n) emerging as the victor for that match.
"Ha! It's Me - 28, and you, 27, Kenma-kun! Haha!" she grins widely, "here, Tetsu. You can go play first, I'm going to eat,"
"You're just afraid of challenging me once more because we all know that I'm going to tie the next round," Kenma muttered, flashing her a bitter stare.
"Of course not!" (f/n) denied.
"Yes, you are,"
"No! I'm not! Hand me a controller, won't you? I'll show you who's boss after another match,"
"Hey, you said it was my turn! Let me roast Bokuto on 1 v 1, (f/n)!"
"Don't you see?! Pudding boy over here is being-"
"Don't call me that,"
"Hey, hey, hey! Can't we just play 4-"
"No!" the others yelled at the same time.
"I'm-"
"Kuro-"
"He-"
"Don't pus-"
"Kenm-"
"(f/n)-"
Zap!
After letting out a scream, (f/n) quickly jumped onto the couch. "Turn the fricking lights on, you ding dong!"
"The power's out, dummy," Kuroo sighed.
"Eh? Are you scared of the dark, (f/n)?"
"N-No!"
"Where's Kenma-san?"
"He's over there, in that corner, I think,"
"Ooh?! Is Kenma scared of the dark too, Kuroo?!"
"I think so, Bokuto!"
"You know what this calls for!"
"Heading out the door! Suck it, losers!"
With a slam, the two mischeivous boys had locked (f/n) and Kenma in the room.
"Talk about worse-case scenarios..." (f/n) mumbled sarcastically, hiding under a pillow.
Kenma had remained silent.
Both of them decided to shut up and just remain in your hiding spots, not daring to move.
But she couldn't help it, she was very uncomfortable without someone making sure that they were there in the pitch black abyss, so she decided to crawl up to the cat-like teen and just sit beside him.
"Kenma-kun,"
"Nani...?"
"Gomen, can I stay here until the lights turn back on, or until those to knuckleheads come back?"
"Yeah... sure... I guess,"
"Arigato,"
--
She didn't know what happened next, but the next thing she knew was that her head was rested on the shoulders of her pudding-headed friend, a blanket covering the two of them while he stared at her sleepily.
"EEH?!" she immediately screamed, jumping up and dashing to the couch, highly embarrassed. "G-Gomenasai, Kenma-kun! I-I didn't mean to fall asleep! W-What time is it, and how long did I fall asleep?"
"It's 7 in the morning, and I don't know when you fell asleep because I fell asleep too," he mumbled.
Blushing, she responded with a slight nod.
"Sorry... are you mad?"
"N-Not at all! Thanks for um, lending me your shoulder, I guess?"
"It's fine,"
"..."
"..."
"Ne, Kenma-kun,"
"Yes?"
"Shall we immerse ourselves into playing another game?"
"Yes, let's."
