【 Paintball | Karasuno Team & Reader 】
Note: this isn't an x reader, because it revolves around all of the karasuno team ! sorry ;;
As the leaves crumbled underground, you moved swiftly in the shadows making sure you didn't make too much of a sound.
Spotting a moving figure in the distance, you got on your knees and positioned yourself for firing.
"Aim..." you muttered, targeting the person as he stood idle, fiddling with his own paintball gun. "Fire."
Bam! Your gun emitted a few paintballs before you ducked and ran for cover.
Checking your surroundings, you saw that your target had disappeared, making a hint of fear jolt up your spine as you quickly hid further into the bushes.
--
"I hope you realize that I still can't freaking see," Tsukishima muttered, relying on his friend to drag him all around the place.
"Shush, Tsukki. I see someone," Yamaguchi whispered, crouching to position.
"Well I can't," Tsukishima hissed bitterly, cursing the paint on his glasses.
"I think I got him, let's run!" Yamaguchi grinned, taking the blonde's wrist and running off.
--
"P-Promise me, Noya, you'll carry on even if I end up—"
"Don't even say the word, Ryuu. That's never gonna happen, not on my watch."
Splat!
"RYUU! RYUU, DON'T LEAVE ME!"
"I-I'm sorry, Noya-san... A-Avenge me, and claim victory for the both of us!"
"RYUU! RYUU DON'T DIE ON ME!"
"Farewell, dear comrade..."
"NOOOOOOOOOO!"
--
"S-Suga-san is so scary," Asahi shivered, watching the silver-haired teen take out a player.
"Nice job, Suga!" Daichi complimented, a bit fazed at the fact that his best friend was so amazingly great at paintball— if not, the best he had known of.
Sugawara just nodded with a devious smile, a dark aura surrounding him while he gripped his gun tightly.
--
"You're so slow, idiot!" Hinata yelled, pulling on Kageyama's sleeve. "Someone almost shot you!"
"I still don't know how to shoot!" Kageyama replied, fiddling with his gun, panicking.
"The trigger, big dummy!"
"Shut your trap, twerp!"
"If you don't keep quiet, I'll shoot you!"
"You. Wouldn't. Dare."
--
Hiding behind a tree, you reloaded your gun, taking out a smoke device and a grenade from your pockets, checking out your surroundings.
Then, you saw it.
A shiny, big, paintball sniper sat in all its glory— right on top of a tree stump.
That's one of the special weapons that the instructor had talked about! you thought excitedly, grabbing it before anyone else had gotten the chance.
Putting it on your back with the convenient strap it had, you smiled and continued walking around until you found a perfect spot to maximize the use of the sniper.
--
"I think we should hide out for now. I'm almost out if ammo!" Yamaguchi sighed, checking his pockets for anything at all.
"Good. I have to clean my glasses," Tsukishima nodded.
"There. We can hide out behind that big car,"
"You sure it's safe?"
"Absolutely positive."
--
"For Ryuu..." Nishinoya cried, aiming his gun at his desired target, shooting tirelessly before ducking for cover.
A few shots were heard in the distance as someone had tried to get back at him; he crawled further away from danger and into hiding, hoping he wouldn't be found too fast.
Seeing that his target had disappeared as well, he stood up carefully and ran to a safer place.
--
"S-Suga!" yelped Asahi, who was near to tears as he heard someone trying to shoot him.
"You big scaredy cat! Duck!" Daichi ordered, checking his surroundings.
Sugawara was already on the floor, aiming for revenge— not hesitating to stop shooting.
"We go now. They may come back later," he acknowledged, getting up.
"He's more into paintball than I had imagined," Daichi commented, following after his friend.
"He's not just into it, he's practically treating it like this was life and death!" Asahi shuddered.
"It is," Sugawara turned around, sending a fierce glare Asahi's way, "it is life and death,"
"D-Daichi..." Asahi whispered, "c-calm him down, please!"
"I'm sorry, I can't help him. He's a totally different person now, and he has always been during paintball matches!" Daichi answered.
--
"I haven't spotted anyone. How about you, Kageyama?" Hinata asked, bored.
"Nope," he replied, "but I think someone tried getting me earlier."
"I hate waiting, let's just... what do English-speaking people say? Let's yolo it!" the orange-haired boy exclaimed.
"What's that?" Kageyama questioned, cringing at the topic of English.
"It means, 'you only live once'. So people use it as an abbreviation and a verb! When you yolo it, I think it means you take a huge risk because you only live once!" Hinata explained.
"You finally said something logical and smart for once," Kageyama said, "and it's not about volleyball either,"
"Not like you're any smarter!" Hinata insisted, annoyed.
Bam! Bam!
"Duck!" Hinata frantically yelled, pulling Kageyama down with him.
"Wait, I need to clarify one thing," Kageyama stated, "all you need to do is take out everyone around you without getting taken out yourself?"
"Yes!" Hinata nodded.
Suddenly, a grin spread across the setter's face as he stood up, aiming his gun and firing.
"What are you doing?! You'll get—"
"I took him out. Do I win now?"
Hinata grinned, "Not yet. You've about 7 more to take out!"
All Kageyama did was nod and head off to hunt for more targets.
--
All you could see was that there were two teams going after each other, one consisting of a tall blonde and a dark green-haired boy, and the other consisting of a creepy-looking boy and a boy with bright orange hair.
This is my chance, you thought, aiming at the the idle blonde, firing two paintballs with a smile.
Your bullets had hit him, making you grin even bigger as the other boy started to panic and run.
You also spotted two other teams firing back and forth— a one man team and a team of three clashing for victory.
--
"Tsukki!" yelled Yamaguchi.
"Go," Tsukishima ordered sternly.
"But—"
"I said, go!"
"O-Okay!"
Yamaguchi ran, trying to shoot at the bright orange target he had in mind, still wondering who had taken his friend out.
--
"Go, I think that's Nishinoya, shoot!" Sugawara instructed, aiming his gun.
"Trying," Daichi sighed, shooting.
"I-I can't shoot Noya! He's my friend!"
"In paintball," Sugawara started, glaring at Asahi once again, "feelings will only bring you down. There is no stopping, or else your victory will be claimed by someone else."
"B-But..."
"Look, Nishinoya's not stopping. Will you let him take advantage and claim something that's for you?" Daichi agreed, not taking his hands off his gun.
"F-Fine," Asahi gave in and started shooting as well.
--
"Wait for me, Kageyama!" Hinata panted, running behind the quick teen, who didn't seem to stop shooting.
"There, I see him!" Kageyama yelled, shooting frantically.
"Where?"
"There!"
Hinata saw Yamaguchi running and started aiming as well, shots of paint flying everywhere as he screamed.
"Run!" Kageyama told him, making a move and dashing behind a tree.
--
The rustling of the leaves grew louder as your eyes grew wide in fear, silently waiting for the person to reveal who they were.
Still hiding behind a bush, you watched a foot step into sight, followed by a body.
Tsukishima?!
--
"Yosh! I took Hinata out!" Yamguchi cheered, hiding behind a rock.
"Yamguchi-san," came a voice.
"K-Kageyama?"
"Hi."
Splat!
--
"He got me!" exclaimed Daichi, who was panicking.
Suga stayed silent, having a grenade in hand and calculating the proper distance and strength he would need to land a perfect hit on Nishinoya.
Asahi was practically screaming silently over Daichi's loss, flailing his arms, still ducked.
Sugawara then threw his grenade and his smoke device, running to a different spot to get a better aim at his target, leaving Asahi behind with the fallen Daichi.
"S-Suga—!"
--
After taking Yamaguchi out, Kageyama had his eyes set on hunting for more enemies.
With a his game face, he hid and stayed silently on the floor, waiting for a prey to appear before him.
--
"(f/n)."
I took him out!
"I see you."
Crap!
"I'm giving you three seconds."
Throwing your own grenade, then the smoke device, you didn't need to check to know if you took Tsukishima out.
The bell signaling that 4 were left had sounded, meaning that you would switch to a smaller arena to fight for victory.
--
Four players stood at each side of the arena, all ready to battle it out for the final time.
The starting gun had been fired, as the four rushed inside and took cover.
(f/n) had aimed for Nishinoya, who was aiming for Sugawara.
Sugawara waited silently, knowing Kageyama was doing the same.
Catching Nishinoya off guard, (f/n) shot her paintballs and successfully took him out before hiding again.
Kageyama dashed to the front swiftly, and tried to shoot (f/n), but she had successfully dodged and shot him back.
Sugawara had them right where he wanted; he aimed and fired at Kageyama, seeing as taking out the harder opponent would be better.
Firing a few paintballs, he successfully shot Kageyama, but in turn, was shot by you.
