Challenges (BONUS) -{Terushou}

This doesn't have to be read with the previous post and can be read on its' own! This oneshot will use first names in narration and dialogue, so just be aware.

Yuji sighed nervously and sorted out his hair for the final time in the mirror. It had been a while since he had dyed it blonde again. It had been years until he had dyed it yesterday. Since university ended, he would only really bother to dye it once every couple of years, usually letting it grow or wash out. But, today, he wanted to look good. He wanted to look professional and amazing.

Besides, Suguru always joked about how much he liked blondes.

Suguru. His boyfriend since his second year of high school. He knew it sounded dumb to some people. They'd question why he'd still want to stay with the same person since high school. They'd tell him he was taking 'high school sweethearts' too far, they'd tell him that there were plenty of other options if he ever got bored but Yuji never got bored of Suguru. To get bored of Suguru, he'd tell them, would mean being bored of happiness, fun and relaxation. It was impossible to be bored of Suguru.

That was why he was going to be with Suguru forever. At least, he hoped he would. In his pocket, the engagement box felt heavy. It was like this unbearing, relentless weight of terror and possible rejection that he carried with him.

He breathed in and out, calming his thoughts. If he thought negatively, it was just gonna go negatively. That's how he worked.

The bathroom door swung open and Yuji jumped, turning around to see his boyfriend, looking as handsome as ever in a black and dark emerald three-piece suit. "Hey, darling, the reservation is booked for thirty minutes from now, we should get going."

"Right, yes," Yuji agreed. "Can you start up the car, 'Guru?"

"Mhm!" His boyfriend left and Yuji took in another deep breath.

"Alright, Yuji," He said, beginning to give himself a pep talk. "You can do this. You got this! You're a boss and Suguru loves you very much. This isn't too soon and it isn't too late. He's so gonna say yes, just you wait!"

He grinned at his reflection and shot himself finger guns. Accepting that his fate was now unchangeable, he went to join his boyfriend in the car.

"Took your time, didn't ya?" Suguru joked warmly as Yuji climbed into the passenger seat.

"Did ya miss me, snakey-wakey?" Grinned Yuji, clipping his seatbelt.

Suguru rolled his eyes and leaned in for a quick kiss. However, Yuji grabbed his face and turned what was supposed to be a light peck into a full-on make-out session. He didn't know if he'd ever get to again after this night. When he let go, Suguru was incredibly red in the face.

"Well," Suguru said, his blush managing to grow. "That was nice."

Yuji grinned and then kissed him again, just as strong and passionate as the first time, although lasting a lot longer.

"Yuji," Suguru managed to murmur between quick gasps for air. "We really... have to get... to the... the reservation."

"But I... love you!" Protested Yuji, stubbornly trying to continue the kiss. He felt a hand on his chest and he was suddenly getting held back by a pouting Suguru.

"I love you too," He said, with playful sternness. "But I am also hungry enough to eat a whole cow. Besides, this restaurant doesn't do refunds when you miss a reservation and I don't wanna miss this because this place is expensive."

Yuji pouted.

Suguru smiled apologetically. "When we get home, you can make out with me all you want, okay?"

"Okay..." He sighed reluctantly.

His boyfriend smiled at him and then began to pull away from the apartment building they lived in.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, Yuji found it very relieving to know that they actually were aware of his plans. He had a horror story from one of his old high school friends, Bobata, that they never checked the details of a reservation. However, when he gave his surname to the waiter, the man gave him a tiny, secretive nod and led them to a very beautiful, well-dressed table.

He slipped the engagement ring into the waiters' apron, as was requested, and now all he had to do was wait.

Then he spotted some people he recognised. Oh, of course. Sharing a table, a little way off from them, just behind Suguru, was Futamata and Bobata. Internally, Yuji groaned. Why did he tell those two anything? They waved to him eagerly, mouthing his name and making suggestive hand signs.

Yuji went bright red, praying that his boyfriend wouldn't notice them. That could ruin the whole thing.

Luckily, the only thing Suguru seemed suspicious of was the price of how much the reservation cost.

"Yuji," He hissed at him while scanning over the menu. "You told me this place was expensive but how much did you actually spend on this date?"

Yuji grinned awkwardly. "Sorry, snakey-wakey, but that is private information."

Suguru pouted, then looked around. "Damn, I was scared I was gonna be overdressed here but no. Everyone else makes me seem underdressed. Darling, do you think I should've dressed up more? It's posher than I expected."

He laughed. "'Guru, you look better than anyone else in this whole bloody city. You could've come here in a hoodie and baggy jeans, and I'd still say the same thing." He watched Futamata make an offended face.

"Oh, shush," Suguru laughed back, swatting at his arm playfully. "No need to flatter me so much, anyone would think you're my boyfriend."

When giving the description of his proposal, Yuji had told the restaurant that he wanted the engagement rings' box to be hidden in the desert of whatever Suguru chose. That way, when he found it, Yuji could pick it up and propose with it. It would catch Suguru's' attention and it wasn't too flashy.

He was incredibly relieved when Suguru chose to have a posher, fancier version of the European chocolate cake because it meant it'd be easier to hide for the waiting staff. The deserts were brought out and he found he was too nervous to even eat. He kept dropping his cutlery and nearly knocked over a glass of champagne as he waited in terror.

"Hey, Yuji," Suguru said, stopping his eating when Yuji managed to stick his spoon into his chin instead of his open mouth. "Are you feeling alright?"

"I'm fine!" He insisted, managing to get the spoon to the right place this time. "I'm just really cold."

Suguru frowned. "You're never cold..."

"Just keep eating, snakey-wakey."

With a hesitant reluctance, Suguru obeyed and kept eating his pudding. Then, two minutes in, he stopped. "The fuck?" Yuji could hear him whisper.

His heart jumped into his throat this was it. This had to be it.

"Hey, Yuji, there's some box in my cake, what the fuck?" Suguru frowned, beginning to pick it up.

Yuji plucked it from his fingers and cleared his throat. It was time for the final challenge.

Suguru looked up at his boyfriend and his eyes widened as he realised what was happening.

"Oh, gods..."

"Daishou Suguru," Terushima Yuji began in a nervous, shaky voice as he got down on one knee, "Will you marry me?"

The restaurant had, nosily, turned to watch the scene. Obviously, they would. He watched phones be pulled out and Bobata suddenly had a very posh camera to take photos.

"I... Y-Yuji, are you serious?" Suguru stammered, wide-eyed, as he stared down at his kneeling boyfriend. He was in such shock, he wasn't even able to stand up from his seat.

"Yep," Yuji tried a nervous smile. "Daishou Suguru, will you marry me?"

Suguru blinked and Yuji saw tears begin to form. His boyfriends' breath seemed to get caught in his throat and he raised his hands to his mouth in a way that resembled praying. He was crying as he nodded shakily and whispered a very quiet 'Yes'.

Yuji felt his world get a billion times brighter. "Yes?"

"Yes!" Suguru cried out, throwing his arms around his boyfriend- no, his fiance -and hugging him tightly.

Yuji hugged back tightly and then slid the ring onto Suguru's' finger.

"I guess I'm stuck with you," He smiled up, realising he was beginning to cry too.

Suguru offered a shaky smile between his tears. "What a horrible idea..."
