So I was going to do a diff character since I've already done a Kageyama but I had an idea that made me cry laughing and here we are
[Return : Kageyama Tobio]
"I never thought I'd say this, but my wardrobe is just not trashy enough." Standing in my bedroom with my arms folded, I perused my clothes, unsatisfied. I gave a "tsk" and tapped my foot on the floor.
"Just put something on quick or I'm leaving without you, neechan." Tsukishima's voice called from the living room, and I frowned, his voice halting my movement "And please do not come out here in your underwear. Please remember that Yamaguchi is also here."
"You say that and it makes me want to, baka baaaaka!" I shouted back, scowling. I placed my hands on my hips. "What do you think, Yachi-san?"
The blonde girl trembled, looking embarrassed. "A-ano, I think you'll look good in anything... just please put some clothes on!"
I sighed, loudly, "You're no help. I have to look good!" I butted my head against the open wardrobe door. "No way that dunce will notice if I don't show a bit of skin... even though he says he likes me..."
I growled out my frustration, hitting speed dial on my phone. He answered quickly, with a smiley but somehow dark voice. "I was waiting for this call. I've sent you a picture, wear that. I know you have the stuff for it."
I blinked, then could have wept tears of joy. "Oikawa-san! Sugoi!" He chuckled down the line, "Tooru is the most amazing!"
"Go, go. Just remember you've gotta really slap my kouhai in the face to get him to understand." And with that, he hung up. My eyes sparkled as I checked my text messages. Sure enough, I had a picture message from Tooru. And he was right... as always.
He'd even taken into account the tastes of the person I was trying to provoke.
Donning a tiara and a very short but poofy dress (it was a deep red and from a costume I wore last Halloween) I smiled. The skirt was just short enough that you could see plenty of leg, but because it was so layered everything that I wanted to remain hidden was as such. Perfect.
"Ooooh, Yori-san! You look so pretty!" Tadashi and Yachi (who had scampered out of my bedroom when I dialed the phone) exclaimed. Kei rose an eyebrow, but said nothing. I placed my hands on my hips.
"What? Not got anything to say? Not even 'You look fabulous, oneechan' or 'teach me your ways oneechan'!" I grinned, flashing him a peace sign. He sighed.
"Let's just go. We're late already." He muttered, standing. He had been- under sufference- forced into a vampire costume, while Yamaguchi was wrapped up in toilet paper like a Mummy. Yachi looked adorable in a little fairy outfit that was bright pink.
"I remember when you used to look up to me, Kei. What happened?! You were so cute!" I said forlornly, bracing myself against the nip of the Autumn air. He twitched.
"You're only a year older than me!" He exclaimed.
I clenched my fist, "I still remember!"
After a long walk, a house with streams of bright lights flooding from the windows came into view. The closer we got, the better we could hear the music. Apparently we were some of the last to arrive, because Tanaka's house was absurdly full.
"Ah! Yori-san!" I squinted, then grinned.
"Saeko-chan!" She was dressed in a skin tight catsuit, and I really could see everything. She looked amazing. She swung me in a hug and we laughed, earning strange looks from numerous people.
"You look awesome!" She exclaimed, stepping back to look me up and down. She winked. "A queen, huh?"
I scratched my cheek. "Ah, well... it wasn't my idea..." flushed, I changed the subject, grinning slightly perversely. "Catwoman, though? Nice!"
She just laughed. "Go on! Get inside, everyone's waiting!"
Everyone... my heart thumped. I swallowed down saliva. Did that mean that everyone had arrived already? I wasn't ready. What should I say?
I pulled my elbow length gloves up my arms nervously, straightening the slight wrinkles. Taking a deep breath, I pushed the door open, scanning the room though I told myself not to...
And, nothing. He's not here yet. I wasn't sure if I was disappointed, or relieved. All that build up for nothing...
I made small talk as I made my way to the drinks table, awkwardly answering questions and nervously thinking that maybe this costume wasn't such a good idea. It was embarrassing to go to such lengths to get someone's attention- especially when everyone knew that that was why you were doing it.
"Well, isn't that everyone?" Ennoshita asked, looking around, then frowned. "Wait, where's Kageyama?"
"It's not like him to be late..." Sugawara said, then gave me a sly look, "Especially when Yori-chan's involved..."
Chikara grinned, "Yori-chan, who dressed up so nicely for the occasion..."
I flushed, "Sh-shut up!!" Feeling hot, I flapped my hands in front of my face, "I'm going outside!"
"Should I call him?" Shouyo, dressed as Frankenstein's monster, asked, seeming a little worried. All of the Karasuno members did, so Daichi nodded.
"He's probably just running late. Check up on him, Hinata."
"Ossu!" It was moments later that I found myself with a ginger boy sat next to me on the chair swing in Ryuu's garden. He dialed and seemed to get through very quickly, "Kageyama?" He paused, "Where are you?"
Having his voice so near (even if I could only hear a faint buzzing) only heightened my nerves. I squeezed my hands into fists.
Shouyo was silent a moment, then glanced sideways at me. "Yeah." There was another pause, and Hinata laughed, "Wait 'til you get here, Bakageyama. You'll like it." Then, another pause. "Alright. Ja ne." Then, Shouyo turned to me. "He said he'll be around ten minutes. I'm going to go tell the others."
Ten minutes. I held my breath, checking the time on my phone. Ten minutes and I'd see him, looking like this.
I scowled. Just how did I end up getting so worked up over a first year, anyway?
If he wasn't so God damn earnest... with that weird kind of chivalry that was just as confusing as it was kind...
"Damn it..." I muttered, briefly considering leaving now. Perhaps, if I left now, I could forget these feelings that made me act like an idiot. Forget all of it.
But the thought of forgetting Kageyama was briefly painful, so I bit the inside of my cheek and waited. It was embarrassing, but I waited. Ten minutes seemed a lot longer in my impatient state.
Suddenly, I heard explosive laughter coming from inside. Confused, I stood, noticing that someone had turned the music down as I entered to see what was going on. And I was not prepared. Nothing could have possibly prepared me.
There were no words that could aptly describe the sight of Kageyama Tobio, dressed as a giant Milk Carton.
"Why?!" Tanaka practically screamed, banging his fist on the floor, "Why on Earth would you dress as Milk?!"
"Kageyama!! That's hilarious!" Nishinoya howled, in a similar position to Ryuu. Tobio flushed.
"Sh-shut up!!"
"And to think we all thought you were so serious!"
Chuckling to myself, I returned outside, sitting back in my previous position. I thought it was probably best for me to not join in on that- though he did look hilarious.
"A-ah! Yori...-san." I looked round to see Tobio poking his head round the door. He'd apparently ditched the carton part and was left in a blue morph suit. He still looked obscure, but marginally less eye-wateringly hilarious.
He came and sat down beside me on the bench. Neither of us said anything for a little while, both of us with our eyes on our laps and flushed cheeks. "Ah..." he fidgeted a little. "I like your costume." He seemed concentrated, like he was taking a quiz, "Etou... a princess? It suits you-"
"No." I shook my head, cutting him off. Staring at my lap, I could feel his gaze on my face. "A queen." I pressed my hands to my mouth. "The court might be a little less lonely for the King like this..." the silence continued, and I could feel the panic and fear of rejection crippling me now that my feelings were out in the open. Flustered, I attempted to backtrack, smiling and waving my hands, "A-ah, that is to say-"
"Yori-san! I like you!" I stopped still, staring at him. His head was down in a sort of bow and his hands grasped mine. "I like you a lot!"
He'd said it before, but it didn't make it any less embarrassing. I didn't know what to say, but when he looked up, expression sincere, straightforward, I melted inside.
"Does this mean you like me too?" He asked, sitting up slightly, and I slowly realised how close he was sitting to me. His face was mere inches from mine. I looked down, then up, then down again. I couldn't seem to hold his gaze.
Slowly, I nodded. He suddenly let go of my hands, one curling into a fist in what I could tell was silent exaltation. He wasn't the type to get overexcited, but I could tell just by looking at him that he was near exploding. He made a strange, choked noise, and I couldn't help but giggle, "Kageyama?"
"Gomen!" He said, eyes wide, cheeks pink and face looking thoroughly joyous, "I just- I can't think what to say right now." He grinned, for once not looking creepy as he did so, "I feel like I just spiked a ball through Oikawa-san's hands.." he flexed his fingers, then looked at me, "...What do we do now?"
I cringed, embarrassed, "Eh..? Well... I guess..." I mumbled, and he just stared at me, fully focused on what I was saying. "Normally this would make us a couple?"
I wasn't sure why it came out like a question. I had experience in this. I knew the answer. But his earnest face made me forget myself, it easily distracted me.
His face slowly became a glowing red, and he pointed at me. "Wait, so..." a wrinkle formed between his brows as he tried to work out how to phrase it. Apparently that didn't go too well. "Girlfriend?"
I snorted, unable to suppress it at his phrasing. I grinned at him, "Yes."
"Wow..." he mumbled, then suddenly grasped me in a hug. I blinked, not moving as his voice rang out, "It's okay then, right?"
"A-ah, yeah..." I mumbled. When he pulled away, his face was so concentrated that it was almost scary. He flexed his fingers again, staring at them.
"So that's what it feels like... to hug someone you like..." he mumbled. I almost couldn't contain myself. He was almost too cute. I didn't know that he'd been thinking about that for so long- or that his innocent self had simply been absorbed in the feeling of holding onto me.
Without really thinking about it, I placed my hands on his cheeks. He stared at me, confused, about to talk... until I kissed him. His eyes remained wide throughout the brief peck and stayed that way long after. He simply sat, burning red, lips pursed and looking as though he was going to hemorrhage.
It took a very long time for him to calm down. We sat side by side in silence for a good while, shoulders just touching, so still that I jumped when I felt something touch my hand.
Tobio's fingers gently slipped underneath mine, pressing my hand into his. Neither of us said anything about it, both too embarrassed to mention it.
"So..." I broke the silence, a moment later, "a milk carton, huh?"
He flinched. "You saw that...?" I grinned and nodded, then waved my free hand.
"Don't look like that. I thought it was cute." I giggled. "But I have to know why."
"Promise you won't laugh?" He asked, and I nodded. He chewed his lip, looking down, "I didn't know what to wear, and Coach said to just go as something I like..."
I snorted, and quickly slapped a hand over my mouth. "Sorry, sorry! Just... that's too cute..."
He turned his head away, but even his ears were red, so it didn't hide much. "A man doesn't want to be called cute..." he mumbled.
Feeling a little bit braver, I shifted across the bench a little so that my shoulder was against his, and placed our hands in my lap. He finally looked at me, and I smiled.
"Next party, let me dress you instead." He didn't look too sure, and I tipped my head, "Please?"
Closing his eyes, he scratched the back of his neck. "I guess."

"Oooh, Kageyama's surprisingly forward!" Suga commented, watching through Ryuu's bedroom window. It gave the team members a perfect view of what was happening below. Koushi had initially been against the peeping, but once he caught sight... he was just too damn curious.
"Heck, Yori-san's surprisingly forward!!" Tanaka exclaimed as the girl went in for the kiss.
"Ano, Nishinoya-senpai, Tanaka-senpai... I'd expect you to be all 'oooi!' And 'damn that Kageyama!'" Hinata questioned, and both shook their heads.
"We've both known Yori forever. She's like a guy to us." Tanaka said, waving a hand. "She still kind of scares me... she's a lot like my neechan."
"I'm just happy because she's happy!" Yuu said with a grin. All three received a punch from Suga.
"Shh! We're missing it!"
Meanwhile, Yamaguchi and Tsukishima remained downstairs, Tadashi looking awkward and the megane on his phone. The brunette fidgeted, "Ne, Tsukki, don't you want to go see what's going on?"
"That's my sister." The blonde replied, not looking up from his device, "So no, not really."
Tadashi laughed awkwardly, "Ah, you're right..."
