They wriggled violently, smashing their fists and making a mess of the blankets around them. It had been awhile since the last one, but the nightmares had returned. Daishou cautiously made his way over to where they lay.

"Baby, wake up..." he nudged them. "It's okay, it's just a dream."

(y/n) stirred, but did not awake. They still struggled against god knows what, looking scared and helpless.

Daishou shook them with more force than before, raising his voice as well. "Wake up (y/n)! It's a nightmare, I swear you're okay, you're in my arms."

Sure enough, they woke up. Covered in a cold sweat (y/n) shook, close to tears.

"It got so close..." they whispered, burying their head into the warm and welcoming body of Daishou, who continued to pet his baby's head.

"They can't hurt you," he reassured.

"But how many times has this happened now?" (y/n) asked. "It can't just be a coincidence, a reoccuring nightmare. Those mean something."

"I promise (y/n), I will protect you, never leave your side. Daddy's here for you. He always will be."

"Mmm..." they purred, curling up into a ball, fitting perfectly into Daishou's lap.

"Would you like tea? Coffee? Water?" Though it was obvious that he wasn't in the mood to get any of these things.

"No thank you... daddy," they whispered. An eminent blush began to edge itself on to their face.

"How about you just cuddle with daddy, baby? How's that sound?" the snake said with a smirk on his face.

"Nice," they mewed.
