"Oh come on I know you. You always get good marks. Teachers always appreciate you. This is something different!"

I'm not gonna tell her until I'm completely sure. "No mum, it's nothing different. It's just that there was this chapter and I couldn't understand it, but now I do... so, yay!" I do a little punch in the air.

"Seriously, I don't really wanna believe it, but then, that's you."

Woh. That's new. She never agrees with me that easily. Not that I'm complaining, but it's a bit striking.

"I love it. I really love it when you agree with me."

"Yeah fine." She rolls her eyes and goes back to the kitchen.

I go upstairs and the smile still hasn't faded away. I keep my bag aside and jump on bed. I look at myself in the mirror at my hair, my face, my neck, collarbone and my eyes. I touch my face, a small smile curves up.

I am really pretty, aren't I? Yeah, I am.

I take a warm bath, and go back downstairs to get something to eat. Watch a few episodes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, while eating the lasagna. Should I take a nap? Maybe a little, I don't wanna look exhausted.

I wake up with the sound of my phone ringing. I try to look at the phone with my eyes barely open.

Liam, flashes up on the screen. Why is he calling me at this hour?

Wait.

7:10! shit shit not again!

I'm late for my first date! Is it? A date though? I shouldn't have taken a nap. I cuss myself.

I abruptly get up, go to the washroom and wash my face.

*6 Messages from Liam

Liam: Hey. I think your neighbours are being suspicious now. A lady has been staring at me from the window for the last 10 minutes now.? Liam! Come on! I don't have time to laugh. Could you just make it a tad faster.

Evelyn: Yeah yeah. I overslept. stupid. stupid me. I'll be there soon.

Ughh.... He just makes me chuckle even when I'm freaking out. No wonder I find him different from other guys.

I open my closet, and pass a sigh.

It's time.

It's time for me to bury my head in the pillow and cry my ass out.

I don't know what to wear. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO WEAR. Should I call mum? No no no... I shake my head, too soon.

I usually do not think too much about dressing but this time I'm thinking about a lot of things. I should wear something good, but not too good. I don't want to give him the desperate vibe. I take out a white top, black jeans and a black leather jacket. It's windy outside.

I brush my hair and apply a little make up. I look at myself in the mirror and a smile touches my lips. I hope he's as satisfied as I am.

I was about to leave.

"Eva! That look is a date look!"

No not now. Shut my eyes.

"What?! no it's not. Why would you say that? I could just normally be wearing something different." I am not ready for my mom to start all the 'boyfriend talk'. "I am going to Leo's place. Some of our friends are coming over. It's a small party. I'll be back within 8 max."

I don't let her say anything else and rush out of the door.

My eyes wander around the road and I see Liam walking towards me. He looks sooo handsome. He's wearing such a casual outfit and yet looks so extraordinary and irresistible.

He's wearing black pants, a grey shirt with the first two buttons open, sleeves half folded.

I signal him to walk past my home. I don't trust my mother in this case. She might be peeping out from the window. He gives me a confused look. Guess I'll explain it to him later.

When we were past my home. I ask him to come over to my side.

He walks towards me looking straight into my eyes. The ticklish feeling in my stomach starts again. I smile and look down.

"Hey." He whispers. "You look pretty."

I want to jump around.

I look back at him, just to find that he's already looking at me. And a soft smile touches his lips.

We enter the café and take a table. I haven't stopped smiling since I saw he might think it's a bit creepy. But seriously I have no control over my lips anymore. What the hell.

It just won't stop smiling. "You look pretty when you smile a lot" his words make my eyes widen.

I find my voice with much difficulty and ask him. "What should we order?"

"What would you like to have?" he asks, making me smile again.

The waiter comes by our table to ask for orders. Liam orders two plates of Mac and cheese.

"Hey what was that signalling about? In front of your house."

"It's nothing important." My mother really freaks out when she hears about my boyfriend or anything to do with my relationships. So I don't want to tell her about it right away." I hope he doesn't misunderstand me.

"Yeah that's totally understandable." I sigh.

"So what about your parents? Do you live with them?"

"No, not really. I do visit them on occasions. I live here with my brother."

"I think you have met him. He is dating one of your friends."

Leo it must be Leo. That's why! "Austin is your brother?"

"yeah."

That's why he knows about their relationship. He notices my reaction while I'm processing all of that. "What?"

I chuckle nervously. "It was really weird the other day when you asked Leo about Austin.

All three of us were kind of shocked." The relationship is kind of private.

"Leo had a bad experience last year when Hazel called him out. So he is still insecure about his feelings and emotions and himself." He likes to keep things just within the three of us.

"I am glad that Austin's with Leo." Liam's voice was filled with concern. "I haven't talked much to Leo but he seems to be a really great guy. And you won't be friends with shitty people, would you?" That makes me chuckle. "But don't you worry about Austin, He has been more than my elder brother to me. He has always looked out for me since we were kids. He is very responsible, very protective of people he cares about."

So clearly he's with a good person. I'm happy for Leo.

"That is good to hear", I nod my head.

"What about you? Do you have any siblings?" his eyes were curious.

"No I don't, my mother is a single parent so... no. Not really."

"Okhey..."

I give a shy smile. Our order arrives and we start eating. We talk about a bunch of stuff, he makes me laugh like a million times.

Every time he makes eye contact I can't stop but blush and make my cheeks go red. I did notice him blushing a number of times as well.

"So, I hope we get to do this again ." he twitches his eyes and continues. "like, sometime soon." he chuckles.

"Yeah yeah definitely. We will do this sometime soon. How about this weekend"

Sounds good. I have plans to study this whole week, with this new geography teacher I really don't want to screw it up.

"Sure thing. That'll actually be great. I have my football practice this week so I will probably be very very tired."

We came out of the café.

He insists on dropping me at my home but I ask him not to. I don't want my mum seeing me with a guy. She will just jump right on to ask about everything. She'll keep on asking me questions until I start doubting myself and my decisions.

We were about to wave each other goodbye. When he comes closer to me. Holds my hand, looks right into my eyes. I can't stop looking at him either. He looks so handsome. He looks at my lips. Then to my eyes. A little smirk escapes his lips. He brings his face closer to mine. I take a deep breath. I keep looking into his eyes until he comes really really close. I shut my eyes. I felt his breath on my cheek. I slowly started exhaling my breath. His lips touches my cheeks, he gently gives me a soft peck and whispers "See you at school then."

I catch my breath with much difficulty and whisper "yeah. See you soon."
