One Year gone

--Three weeks gone--

The weeks following the Winchester's sudden departure were hard on everyone.

Cas would disappear for hours at a time, coming back with new drawings of bees and often smelling like honey. He barely spoke and had receded into a worse version of his old, quiet, innocent self.

Gabe sat in his room alone for hours at the beginning, and even when he went back to school, he couldn't of cared less about learning. It wasn't long before pranking was all he did, and he started failing subjects.

Lucifer tried looking for the Winchester's, but John was good at covering his trail up and Lucifer was soon forced to give up.

Worried for their sons, Becky and Chuck sent Castiel and Gabriel to a boarding school. They hoped that the change of scenery would help. Castiel became a loner, but did do better in school, and Gabriel.... well he kept failing. His new girlfriend, Kali, didn't help matters.

On the Winchester's side, Dean just kinda drifted. He found himself unable to focus on anything and pushed everyone away.

Sam hadn't taken the loss of his friends and Gabe well, and spent all his spare time alone, refusing to talk to anyone, including Dean and John. When he wasn't studying, he was reading or just sitting on his bed in whatever motel they were staying in and looking through his photo's from his time in Kansas with his friends... and Gabe.

That was what he was doing in this moment, looking through the photo's Charlie had given him of their weekend getaway.

He was sitting with his back leaning against the headboard of his uncomfortable motel bed, shuffling the photos in his hands. Dean was sitting on the other bed, headphone on with music blasting through them loud enough that Sam could hear the faint sound of it from where he sat.

Both boys were silent, which was how things usually were for them lately. Dean had pretty much given up trying to get his younger brother to speak.

--Six weeks gone--

What had originally started as an angry silent treatment from Sam, had developed into what appeared to be selective mute-ism, he had gotten to the point where he didn't see the point in speaking anymore. If you didn't speak, you didn't make friends. Which meant you didn't get hurt.

Dean walked in, fast food in hand yet again. Sam was so sick of the constant motel's and take aways.

"Heya Sammy, you hungry?"

Sam just gives his brother a long look before going back to mindlessly reading the book sitting on his lap.

"I'll keep some aside for you," Sam could feel Dean's worried gaze on him but still doesn't look up.

Meanwhile Gabe was quickly earning a reputation at his boarding school, he had stopped sulking around and had now gone back to his trickster self. All the other student's were either in fear of him or in awe of him. He had looked up Sam several times, and sat staring at his phone for ages wondering if he should try texting Sam. Now he didn't bother, he decided that he had to give up and move on.

His girlfriend, or more accurately his on and off fling, had helped him with that decision, after she had made him realise how pathetic his sadness over the moose was.

Cas was still getting worse, Gabe couldn't understand why his brother was still mourning after  the Winchester's. He had tried telling Cas that there was no point, that they had just been a brief moment of good memories and that it was over now. But his brother wouldn't stop hoping, even if he still believed that the Winchester's had left without saying goodbye purposely.

Lucifer was still looking, but he was starting to lose hope.

--One Year gone--

Sam was still silent, he hadn't spoken a word since the night they had left. He had been watching the days tick by, and marked the one year mark on his calender with a silent sigh. He knew he should give up hope of seeing them again. He should stop missing these people that had become nothing more than a memory, but he just couldn't.

He missed his old friends.

Dean couldn't care less anymore, or at least that's how he acted. In reality, he was burying his sadness under an uncaring act. Honestly, he was tired of the constant motel hopping and school changes. And as much as he hated the thought of feeling attached to someone other than Cas, who he had given up on ever finding, he did find himself interested in a girl at their most recent town. Lisa.

Cas gave up. He didn't want to, but surely if the Winchester's had cared then they would of came looking for him by now. So he buried his sadness under a new hobby. Painting, photographing and watching bee's. He wanted to live a simple life; graduate from school, go to university, watch bees, and live unattached.

Gabe, well Gabe wasn't doing any worse than before. He was doing slightly better at school, only barely passing but still technically passing. He was still kinda seeing Kali, who always brought out the worse in him, but who cared? It wasn't like he had to be good for Sam anymore, in fact, he regretted ever running into the stupid moose who brought colour into his life.

Lucifer and Michael decide that they can't stand the sadness surrounding their friends back home and pack up for a six month holiday around Europe.

One thing they all had in common, no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't shake the memory of one another out of their heads. Because no matter who it was, they all were grateful of the first fall between Sam and Gabe and the friendships that had followed.

A/N:

Hey all!!

So I think this may be the end... but don't worry because I have a sequel on the way!!! The working title for the sequel is 'All This Time'

Let me know what kind of things you want to see in the sequel and I'll try and make them work!

I'm enjoying finally owning a couple of seasons of Supernatural XD

I hope this final chapter was okay, I wasn't really sure how I wanted to do it.

*Rewatching season 10 and loving Deanmon*
