Three blind mice 2
Cassie Hack, the skilled and fearless monster hunter, carefully patched up her boyfriend, Y/N, as he reclined on the makeshift bed in their hidden base. Y/N's wounds were numerous, evidence of the epic battle he had just emerged from. Nearby, the monstrous shark lay motionless, its enormous form a testament to the havoc it had wreaked. Stab wounds and other damage scarred its body.
Cassie furrowed her brow, concern etched on her face. She cleaned the wounds with antiseptic, her hands steady despite the adrenaline still coursing through her veins. "You really did a number on that shark, babe. I've seen some insane kills, but this one takes the cake. How'd you manage it?"
Y/N winced as Cassie's touch stung his injuries, but he managed a weak smile. "Technically, I didn't kill it. Its stomach did. It was a beast, eating so many people and other sharks. Its stomach couldn't take it anymore, and it popped like a ballon."
Cassie's eyes widened, both in surprise and intrigue. She had heard tales of creatures developing voracious appetites, but this was something else entirely. "You mean it ate itself to death? That's some poetic justice right there."
Y/N nodded, his voice filled with awe. "Yeah, it was like the gluttony itself consumed the glutton. I've never seen anything like it. I was just trying to track it down, and when I finally caught up, it was in the midst of devouring everything in sight. The sea was churning with blood and debris."
Cassie continued to tend to his wounds, her fingers working skillfully. "Well, lucky for us, you were there to put an end to its feast. The ocean's a dangerous place, and you just made out a little safer. That is until the next monster, appears out of nowhere and ears the first swimming obsessed girl in its site."
Y/N winced again, but this time it was from Cassie's touch. "You know, it's funny, Cassie. After it swallowed me whole, I thought I was done for. But then, as it thrashed around, its stomach acid searing my skin, I saw the chance to strike from within. It was a desperate move, but it worked."
Cassie's eyes sparkled with admiration. "You fought your way out from the inside? That's insane! You really are something, Y/N."
He chuckled weakly. "Yeah, well, I had a little help from my trusty blade. Good thing I never leave home without it. But you know, in the end, it was the monster's insatiable appetite that did it in. It choked on its own gluttony."
Cassie finished patching him up, her hands gentle yet efficient. "Well, you did what you had to do."
Y/N grinned, despite the pain coursing through his body. "Yeah, who knows? Maybe we'll become famous for taking down the self-devouring shark. The legends will sing our praises!"
Cassie smiled back, leaning in to give him a tender kiss. "We don't need fame, Y/N. We do what we do because it's right. We're the protectors, the ones who stand between the innocent and the monsters. And tonight, we've won another battle."
Cassie meticulously finished patching up Y/N's wounds, ensuring that the bandages were secure and the injuries properly cleaned. She stepped back, examining her handiwork with a critical eye. Satisfied with her work, she offered him a warm smile.
"All done, Y/N," Cassie said, her voice filled with a mixture of relief and affection. "You're going to be sore for a while, but you'll heal up just fine. No more fighting for you until you're fully recovered, okay?"
Y/N nodded, appreciating Cassie's care and concern. He gingerly tested his movements, confirming that his body was on the path to recovery. "Thanks, Cassie. I couldn't have done it without you. You're the best healer and partner I could ever ask for."
Cassie blushed slightly, her tough exterior giving way to a hint of vulnerability. She reached out and took Y/N's hand, squeezing it gently. "You know I'll always be here for you, right? No matter what dangers we face or how beaten up you get, I'll always be by your side."
Y/N smiled, grateful for the unwavering support he found in Cassie. "I know, Cassie. And I'm lucky to have you. The way you handle yourself in the face of danger, the way you take care of me and the people we protect, it's inspiring. You're my rock."
Cassie's eyes softened, and she leaned in, placing a tender kiss on Y/N's forehead. "And you're mine. We make a damn good team, Y/N. We've faced horrors most people can't even imagine, but we always come out on top. As long as we have each other, nothing can break us."
They shared a moment, their love and commitment palpable in the air. It was a reminder of the bond they had forged through countless battles, a bond that gave them strength and resilience in the face of adversity.
Cassie straightened up, a determined glint in her eyes. "Alright, enough resting for now. Once you're back in fighting shape, we have more slashers to hunt down."
Y/N nodded, his determination matching Cassie's. "You're right, Cassie. Let's get back out there and keep kicking some monster ass. Together, we're unstoppable."
Vlad burst into the hidden base, clutching a newspaper in his hands. His expression was grave, his eyes filled with concern.
"Guys, you won't believe what I just found," Vlad exclaimed, his voice urgent. He unfolded the newspaper and pointed to the headline that read, "Teacher Brutally Murdered in Woods: Small Town Gripped by Fear."
Cassie's eyes narrowed as she scanned the article, her instincts kicking into high gear. "This has Slasher written all over it. The violence, the savagery... it's their trademark." Cassie said
Y/N sighed, not even ten minutes after he killed the shark, now they had another problem. "Alright, let's gear up and head to that small town. We need to gather information, dig into the victims' backgrounds, and find any patterns that might lead us to the Slasher responsible." Y/N said
