PART- 91 (Birthday Gift)

Small update!!!

☆—☆—☆—☆

SIDHARTH POV

"Happy birthday Sidharth." Sana's father and Ms. Divya, wish me, when the clock shows Twelve O'clock.

"Thanks, D-dad." I say with little hesitation.

It's been almost a week that he asked me to call him 'Dad', and he calls me 'son' rather than call me by my name. I feel really awkward to call him 'Dad', and when he calls me 'son'. Because, he is hardly fifteen years older than me. Just fifteen.

Jeez!

"Try to adjust with it, son." He smirks, teasing me.

I nod. "And. Thank you, Ms. Divya."

She gives a disapproval look, "This is not done. You call him, Dad. But me Ms. Divya? That's unfair to me."

I smile at her cute complaint, "What do you want me to call you then?"

"What Sana calls me." We all become emotional about the mention of her name.

I look at her with a sad smile. "You want to call me Mum?"

This will be weird. She is hardly Seven to Eight years older than me.

"Yes," Her voice sounds desperate. As is she getting desperate to hear 'Mum' from Sana's sweet voice.

"I miss her calling me Mum." She admits. "I'll be happy if you call me by that name. I will feel my Sana is calling me."

We all get emotional. At least, Ms. Divya and I.

She continues, "After all, you're her other half. Aren't you, Sidharth?"

I feel like crying right now. But I somehow controlled, at their presence.

"Yes. Mum." It did feel weird to me. But when I saw her smiling for the first time in a month, it didn't feel weird anymore.

"I got something for you," She says, giving me a gift bag.

"It wasn't needed Mum." This time that name comes naturally to me. And she smiles again.

"Keep it." She forcefully give it to me. "It has something that belongs to Sana. I hope you will like it."

"Of course, I will." I say in a heartbeat.

"Sure, you will."

I don't know what its content, but this time I gladly accepted her gift and hugged the bag. "Thank you Mum."

Seeing me like this they both smiled.

"What do you want from me, Son?" He asks, teasing me again.

"I want your help in taking my revenge, Dad." I say, without thinking much.

He smiles proudly and pat on my shoulder, "That's my son."

"Good night, Sidharth."

"Good night,"

As they both left her room, I concentrated on Sana, who is still sleeping peacefully right now.

"Won't you wish me, Princess?" I say, with a bittersweet smile.

"I need a birthday present from you. Will you give me that?" I ask holding her hand to kiss her palm.

I kiss her palm. "You."

My eyes fall on the gift bag given by her Mum. I quickly grab the bag and open it. There's a red square box and a 4/6 thin box wrapped in gift paper. I guess it's a photo frame.

I am quick to unwrap it. And, it's indeed a photo frame, with a photo of me with five year old Sana. I was Twenty that time.

I smile seeing our photo.

In the photo, I am sitting on the stairs of her grandmother's pond. It's in the backyard of their house. Sana is sitting on my lap. Her favorite place in the world. We both are smiling big. She is chubby there. Suddenly, I noticed there was one missing tooth in the front.

"Aww! She is looking adorable. I just want to eat her up." I couldn't help but gush over her cuteness.

I look down at her, smiling, "Princess, I never knew you were this cute and chubby. Your cheeks were edible back then."

I quickly kiss her cheeks softly.

I put it on the nightstand so that I can see it everyday before going to sleep and after waking up in the morning.

I opened the box and gasped, "Oh!"

It's her missing teeth.

"Aww!" I say holding it in my big hand. "They are so tiny and cute."

I put the teeth back in the box, when I notice a chit. I'm quick to pick it and open it to see what's inside it.

It's a letter written by young Sana. Her words and handwriting both are unclear but still readable.

bear Gob, Tobay i lost my daddy teeth.

"What the hell?" I am so confused. But read farther.

I bib not feel pain. Thank you to my frienb. He help me to get rib of my pain.

"Is she talking about me here?" I think yes.

I understood, she had a problem with the verbs and the small "b & d" back then. It's a very common problem with the kids. I had that too.

"That's cute as fuck Princess," I tell her, laughing.

I again started to read correcting her verbs and B's and D's in mind.

Dear God, today I lost my one baby teeth. I did not feel pain. Thanks to my friend. He helped me to get rid of my pain. He removed my teeth. He is good. I like him. He makes me happy. He always plays with me. Peek-a-boo. Tell him not to forget me when I am gone. I wish I could take him home with me. Then, we could play everyday. All the time. No one plays with me at home. Only Divya aunty. I NEED HIM. God. You think I love him? Why do I feel cry cry now?

"Oh! Princess." I couldn't help but cry seeing some dried tear droplets on the corner of the page.

After crying for sometime, I kissed her forehead sweetly, "I love you too Princess."

My phone started ringing. So I got up to take my phone from her study table. I am sure, it must be either Mom or Sanvi or maybe Ananya to wish me on my birthday.

It's her.

"Hello! Anu?"

"Sid uncle, happy birthday to you." Her excited voice makes me feel better and smile.

She always makes me happy.

"Thank you, Anu. How are you?"

"I'm cute." She giggles making me smile. "How are you?" She asked.

"I am g..... "

"Say handsome." She whispers, then giggles.

I chuckle, "I'm handsome."

This is weird but fun.

Talking with Anu always makes me feel happy. She must be my neice but she is more like my own child. I can do anything to make her happy and protect her.

I wonder, how can Harman be like this? He always told me, Sana is like his daughter. He warned me so many times that I shouldn't hurt Sana by any chance. He requested me to me gentle with her. Because, Sana is sensitive, emotionally. Which she is. That means he knows her, and understands her well. Then how could he do this to her? Just on the basis of an assumption?

Is he really guilty? Or is it someone else who is trying to frame him to save their ass?

It could be possible. Isn't it? Because, it was Dad's business rivals who were behind him and his family.

But, Dad's trustworthy detective won't lie either? Right?

Suddenly, I am so confused right now.

"Sid uncle, I miss you." Anu's sad voice broke my thoughts.

"I miss you too, Anu."

"When will you come here?"

"I don't know." I really don't know. I don't know anything right now.

"Let me wish him as well. And go sleep" Sanvi scolds her from side.

"No."

"He is my brother." She scolds her again. "Go sleep. You have singing class tomorrow morning."

"He is my uncle." That, I am.

"Anu!"

"Don't scold her." I say. "She is my baby."

"Yeah right." I can imagine her smiling right now. "Happy birthday Sidharth."

"Thank you, Sanvi." I say. "How's Mom?"

It's a sensitive topic. I haven't talk with her yet.

It did hurt me that she didn't wish me yet. But I hope she does before this day ends. I'll keep my hopes. Not high but enough that I don't feel more hurt later.

"She is..." She hesitates, "Sorry. She is very guilty Sidharth. For whatever she did with you and.. especially her."

"She should be." I didn't hesitate to show my anger.

"Can you forgive her? She is really guilty Sidharth that's why she is not able to call you." She hesitates, "Even today to wish you."

I can't believe.

"I am no one to forgive her Sanvi. It's Sana, whom she had hurt, actually. So, if she wants to ask forgiveness ask from Sana. Not me."

"But Sidharth,"

"And... Sanvi, she is my mother. She doesn't need anyone's permission to wish her son."

"Okay. Thank you."

"There's no need to thank me. Just tell her, if she wants to talk to me she can call. She doesn't need a third wheel to communicate." I smirk, imagining her scowl face.

"I hate you."

"Me too."

"Good night. Take care."

"Night." I hung up the call and walked to Sana and lay down beside her, facing her side.

Her bed is big enough that we can easily sleep together keeping some distance between us.

I moved closer to her face and softly kiss her forehead then her cheeks. Then lay down back to my place, holding her hand in mine.

"Good night, Princess." I say before closing my eyes to sleep, hoping for something good for tomorrow.

Unfortunately, nothing good happened that whole day, apart from a call from my mother where she wished me for my birthday and told me how guilty she is and asked for my forgiveness.

I did forgive her, being her son. But not as Sana's Sidharth. Sana's Sidharth will never forgive anyone who will try to hurt his Princess.

That's the truth and a fact.

Thank you.
