Roaring
As I got out of the shower, my clothes were nowhere to be seen and there was a gray towel on the toilet that I didn't see before.
I dried myself off and wrapped the towel around my waist.
I cracked the door open and peeked outside, feeling the cold air hit my face.
"Ashley" I called out. A few moments I heard footsteps coming closer. I see Ashley walking down the hallway holding folded clothes.
"Here, they are warm. I set them by the oven to dry faster" Ashley handed my clothes to me.
"Thanks" I opened the door enough to grab my clothes from her.
"Yeah, no problem" Ashley turned and walked away. I closed the door and began getting dress.
I walked out with slightly damp hair hovering over my eyes.
I made it to the bar, seeing Ana sitting on the stool with a glass filled with clear liquid.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and I quickly turned to the side, meeting Ashley's brown eyes.
"You should get going. We are going to close up early. Ana isn't feeling so good" Ashley explained.
"Yeah, I'll see you soon." I smiled at her and her hand fell off my shoulder.
A loud ringing sound boom through the room. I turned to see Ana getting up and digging into her pocket.
Ana pulled out a phone and she stopped in her tracks before looking at me then at Ashley.
"Ashley, let's go" Ana demanded.
"I haven't clean up-" Ashley's voice falters when Ana walked to her. Ana grabbed Ashley's wrist and pulled her toward her.
"I'm so glad your back, Derek!" Ashley yelled as she was being pulled towards the door. Ana stopped and she turned around.
Ana glared at me and I saw the familiar look in her eye. She was fighting with herself, something I always done.
"Ana" Ashley placed her hand on her cheek so Ana could look at her. Ana smiled and gently pulled Ashley's hand away from her cheek before placing her phone on the table looking straight at me, the look disappearing.
"Come on" Ana walked out the door, hand and hand with Ashley. The only sound was the bell chiming as I stood there confused in the empty bar.
I walked towards the table with Ana's phone was at. I grabbed the phone to turn it on, it wasn't locked but the screen went to the phone log.
Missed call
Henderson 10:27 P.M
My eyes widen and I just couldn't believe what I just saw.
How does Ana know Henderson? Is she a Night Crew soldier? What was the call for? Does she know about me?
I dropped the phone when it vibrated in my hand. I looked down seeing the message up the top of the phone screen
Henderson
We are switching the time to now. Your money will be deliver soon. Thank you for your cooperation. Your next miss-
Before I could read anymore, the message went away. I quickly grabbed the phone and put it in my pocket.
Switching the time? To now? Why did they leave so quickly? Are they going to met up? Why did she leave her phone? Does she want me to know? Is she in trouble?
I looked outside through the window and I seen nothing out the parking lot except for the car.
I walked out carefully, looking around for anything suspicious. I reached the car and went to open it when I heard a car engine roaring.
Being paranoid, I duck behind the car as I heard the sound getting closer and more louder.
I peeked out seeing two black trucks driving in the parking lot.
Shit, shit. They look like Night Crew. Are they after me?
I banged my hand against the car, I closed my eyes tightly trying to naked sense of it all. I opened my eyes when I heard a deep voice speaking.
"Do you have visual?" The voice sounds familiar. I peek out again, seeing the same uniform I had a fight with in the apartment complex.
I ducked down again, I looked around seeing if there was an exit instead of the driveway that they were blocking.
I looked back at the car and I saw a hole. My hand went over it, tracing the circle.
Must be when they tried to shoot me
I sighed and notice a circular metal object in the hole.
A bullet? But it was too long. A tranquilizer? I could use it
I slipped a finger in, trying to get a good grip of it. I tried to put my thumb in but the hole was too small. I then tried my middle finger, it fit.
I moved them around getting to grip the damn thing. The tranquilizer was caught between my index and middle finger, I slowly drag it out feeling the metal of the car scrap my fingers.
When I pulled it out, it's didn't look like a tranquilizer. I would know since I had a lot of experience and I compared it to the one in my pocket.
I examined it, seeing that it had a little black box that had a red light and it was blinking.
A tracker? A bomb?
Whatever it was, I had the same feeling that I had when I was free from that chair. Hope
I started to laugh at myself, I'm an enemy to both sides.
I don't know what I was hoping for. I had an idea of it but it didn't seem right
"We are going in, in 3, 2, 1" A voice yelled and a sound of crashing was heard.
I placed the tracker in my pocket, not knowing why. I ran straight for the exit, if they had a visual from the sky then I was fucked.
I heard a car engine roaring, it was the same sound I heard then I heard yelling. I couldn't make anything out of it.
They know, they know
When I thought of those words, it brought me back to the gang that held me captive. I felt safer there than where I'm at right now. My mind went to Delirious-
I heard the car become louder and louder. My eyes widen and I didn't want to risk anything by looking back. So I continue running, waiting to find an opportunity.
I notice an ally and turn quickly, hitting a brick wall. I finally looked back, panting. My lungs were burning and my throat was dry. My legs were about to give up any moment.
I see the truck stopping at the ally and the door swung open.
I turn around, running again. I turn a right at a corner and knew it was the biggest mistake I have ever made.
I was face to face with the bar again. I couldn't go back and I couldn't go down the street, it would be miles before I could reach another street or an ally.
I ran across the street, I heard a gunshot and I started to zig zag, reminding me of when I first met the gang.
I made it to the parking lot and I went for the car. A bullet went through the car window making me duck behind the car again.
Another car roar but the engine wasn't as loud. I peeked seeing the green bright car, the other gang. They ran over the soldiers as they enter the parking lot.
They might do that to me!
I quickly ran to the bar, the doors were already busted open. I skipped over the wooden doors and grabbed a "sharp" piece of the door. I ran to the back passing the control room then the restroom.
I made it to the metal doors, placing my hand on it before pulling away quickly when I felt the cold touch my hand.
The freezer
I opened the metal door, not minding the cold biting my skin. I hid behind the door, hearing closely to footsteps.
I peek out the tiny window that was still frosted. A person came around the counter, wearing a purple shirt and no mask. He had blonde hair and he had a bread going on. His gun was in front of him, his footing was good. He had a lot of experience.
He peeked into the freezer and I took that as my cue. I came out from behind the door and kicked him in before closing the door and locking it. The gun flew across the floor to my foot.
I must have knocked the gun from me. I guess his grip wasn't strong enough.
I grabbed the gun hearing the banging against the metal doors. I slouched on the wall, looking back at the small window seeing his fist connecting with it.
