Defeat.

They lost.

The heroes lost.

Not only for the first time against villains.

But they lost their friends as well.

The villains had gotten what they wanted and won the day.

Kaminari was excited when Midoriya was awake and he led the rest of his classmates into his hospital room.

"Did everyone from Class A come to visit?" Midoriya asked quietly.

"No, Jirou and Hagakure were knocked unconscious from that villain's poisonous gas. And Yaoyarozu took a pretty bad hit to the head, she's being hospitalized here, but I just found out that she just woke up yesterday." Iida explained to Midoriya gravely. "So it's just us, but we wish the whole class could be here."

"Only fifteen of us for now." Uraraka added.

"Because Bakugou and Hailey are gone." Todoroki concluded.

"He knows Todoroki!" Mina exclaimed nervously.

Midoriya's hazed over eyes became clear and began to water at the reminder that he failed to protect his friends.

"All Might told me that there would be people beyond our reach, some that we can't protect, even if we want to." Midoriya said quietly, "That's why we have to save the people that we can reach. I-I was so close to be able to save them. Kacchan was so close to my reach a-and Hailey, I didn't even look back to see if she was safe. I-I needed to save them, I had to. That's the entire reason that I have my quirk." Tears began to stream down Midoriya's cheeks as his vision blurred from the tears. "I-it's just like Mr Aizawa said. My body.. I-it didn't move. I couldn't save someone who was right in front of me."

"Alright, then let's go get them." Kirishima suddenly said, solemnly.

Everyone turned to the redhead in surprise.

"I was here yesterday, so was Todoroki. When we were on our way to visit you, we saw All Might talking to Yaoyarozu. She made a tracker onto the Nomu." Kirishima explained.

"And I was informed by my father that Hailey's mother had put trackers in a pair of earrings that Hailey is currently wearing. He never told me the location though." Todoroki added.

"I see, so you're going to ask Yaoyarozu to make another receiver." Iida said, catching onto the boys' plan.

"What if it does?" Todoroki questioned, feeling Iida's disapproval.

"We should listen to what All Might said!" Iida exclaimed, raising his voice, "We have to leave this to the professionals! It's not the right time for us to get involved! Idiots!"

"Maybe! But all I know is that at camp, I couldn't do anything!" Kirishima shouted emotionally, "I heard that my friends were targeted and I just stood by, helpless! So if I stand by and do nothing now, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CALL MYSELF A HERO?!"

"Kirishima, calm down, we're in a hospital. There's  a better time and place for this." Kaminari tried to quiet his friend, but to no avail.

"All of you.. just listen to me for a minute. I know what you're saying is right, but still-" Kirishima then turned to Midoriya, "Come on Midoriya! They're still sitting your reach!"

(Bitch how, my arms are fucking broken)

"We can save Bakugou and Hailey."

"Now stop, we can't get emotional about this." Shoji interjected, "Although I understand your frustrations, but we can't go into a villain lair like this."

"Perhaps we should leave this to the professionals." Aoyama tried to say.

"You don't understand! Some of those villains were willing to kill us, but they took Hailey and Bakugou alive. But we don't know for how long they will then alive. I know that at least Hailey left with a deep stab wound and if the villains haven't treated her, she's at a higher risk." Todoroki argued.

"The man who took her though, he said that he was-"

"That doesn't matter right now, we need to save them!"

"But we need to think about this, if you guys go searching for the villains and use your quirks, knowing that you broke the rules, that'll make you like villains." Tsuyu pointed out sternly.

A heavy silence filled Midoriya's hospital room. No one dared to question that logic or to even speak up.

What broke it was a knock at the door, the doctor needing to check and speak to Midoriya.

As the students began to leave, Kirishima told Midoriya that if he wanted to help them, he would have to meet them at nightfall.

The two boys waited outside of the hospital, for Midoriya and anyone who was willing to go along with their plan. As well as Yaoyarozu, who had yet to tell them what she decided in regards to making another receiver.

Just then, Yaoyarozu exited the hospital with Midoriya walking behind her.

"So how 'bout it? Did you decide?" Kirishima questioned his classmate.

Before Yaoyarozu could answer, Iida approached the group, telling them to hold on.

"You.. out of all of the people, it had to be you two.. the ones who stopped me when I was acting too recklessly, who received injuries after our time in Hozu. Why are you trying to make the same stupid mistakes that I made?! Didn't you learn?!"

"What are you talking about-" Kirishima tried asked but was held back by Todoroki.

"We're still just students.. and UA is in a bad position as it is. Anything we do will reflect on our school. Don't you get that?!" Iida cried, his voice shaking.

"Iida we have to! I know you don't like us breaking the rules but-" As Midoriya tried to reason with Iida, he was interrupted by Iida punching him in the face.

"I'm frustrated too! And concerned obviously! You don't even realize how much guilt that I feel right now! Not just as the class representative, but as a friend! Back in Hozu, in the hospital, I made a promise to Hailey that no one would take her and that we would protect her! I'm so ashamed of myself that I wasn't true to my word! And when I saw the damage that your body was in, I couldn't help but think of my brother! What would happen if your bodies were so heavily damaged?! Don't you see where I'm coming from?!" Iida shouted, all of his emotions spilling out into his words. "Or are you saying that you don't care on how I feel?"

"Of course I do." Midoriya answered quietly.

"Iida, you've got it wrong." Todoroki interjected, "We don't expect to face them head on and win. We'll get them back without fighting."

"Yeah, we'll be stealthy." Kirishima added. "I'm talking covert ops here. We can rescue them without breaking any rules!"

"I trust all of your judgement, but if things go wrong, I'll be there as backup." Yaoyarozu piped in.

"Even if I'm hurt, if I can still move, I'm still going to try and reach them." Midoriya said softly. "All that I can think about is saving them."

"Although I don't agree... I'm coming with you." Iida finally stated, a determined glint in his eyes.

Meanwhile

"I'm going to ask you one more time, Katsuki Bakugou, aspiring hero, will you join our league of villains?" Shigaraki questioned, he and his other villain comrades staring at the chained up boy.

"Go throw yourself into some traffic." Bakugou sneered.

Shigaraki glared at the boy, "I think that you'll be more persuasive if you considered the fate of your friend."

With those words, a warp portal appeared and revealed Hailey laying on the ground in-front of Bakugou. Blood dropped from her nose and side where she received that stab wound.

"Paralyzer thinks that he'll be more persuasive with her in this state, that is.. if she doesn't bleed out first. Compress was far too nice in putting her body in a frozen state." Shigaraki monologued.
"

"Hey Carrot Head, are you alive?" Bakugou questioned her in hesitance.

Hailey weakly looked up at Bakugou and nodded her head. "Yeah." She answered quietly.

"Shouldn't we tie her up too?" Spinner questioned.

"Oh please, with a wound like that, she won't be going anywhere. And she can't use her wavelength quirk, or she'll bleed out more quickly." Paralyzer imposed, grabbing a small glass from Kurogiri. "It may have been two years, but I know my little girl."

"Shut.. up, bastard." Hailey grumbled.

Paralyzer gave his daughter a strange look before gulping down his drink and putting it back on the counter.

He then crouched down by his wounded daughter, "Munchkin, you know that the second that you join this league, you will survive. We'll take you to the best doctor and get ya fixed up. And better yet, you could hold onto the other quirk that you were destined to have." He tried to coax her in a gentle tone.

Hailey glared at the man, "I'd rather die than become a villain. And if it were my destiny, I'd have your stupid quirk."

"You're only half complete! You only have half of my power! It's just hiding in your DNA, and trust me honey when I say that we can fix that! We can make you just like me! The best father daughter duo! No more of your mother getting in the way!" Paralyzer exclaimed, giving off a delusional sense.

"Like hell I'd be anything like you!" Hailey argued. "You aren't my father!"

"I still am your father!"

"No, you lost that right." Hailey glared at the man that stood above her, "I refuse any part of you to be apart of my identity."

"You can't reject my quirks-"

"No, it's MY quirk, you dumbass. It's my own, I made it MINE." Hailey spoke sharply, she finally said what she had been waiting to for years. "You had no part in where I am today and how powerful I am. Even if I'm on the ground, I'm still strong."

Her words almost left her father taken aback, before his purple eyes had a dark look to them.

"Are you gonna let her talk to you like that, Paralyzer?"

"No, maybe you need to realize what position you're in now. Then you'll see things my way." Paralyzer then grabbed Hailey by her ponytail and pulled her to her back. "You know I was just going to kill maybe some of your classmates." Paralyzer said, his eyes glowing and leaving Hailey unable to move. "Who would it have been? Endeavor's son? That shark tooth boy? Or maybe that frog girl? Oh I know, how about that Midoriya boy? You've always been friends with the nerds."

"You leave them out of this. They'd be able to defeat you and your league in a matter of seconds." Hailey growled. "Besides, I doubt that anyone would be dumb enough to fall for your shitty lies and manipulation. The only people you can fool are desperate single women."

Paralyzer then powerfully stomped onto Hailey's left wrist. As he continued to do so, Hailey cried out in pain, until there was a loud snap.

This caused Hailey and Bakugou's blood run cold.

Many of the other villains gave looks of disgust and shock at Paralyzer.

"We'll try this again in an hour or two. If you haven't changed your mind, I'm letting Shigaraki and the boss decide if you die or.. become one of those fucking Nomu's." Paralyzer said darkly before walking outside to smoke.

The room was in silence, except for the whimpers from Hailey, as she was free from the paralyzing stare. Her body trembled.

"Family squabbles are so annoying." Shigaraki sighed and he turned on the television to watch the UA conference.

"I'm- I'm sorry B-Baku... I'm a liability...if you can escape, just go and leave me... I'll only slow you down." Hailey said quietly.

"I'm not leaving you here." Bakugou grunted, also keeping his voice low.

"You might have to."

The way that the media was representing the incident was anything but positive. It made Shigaraki's point get across that the hero world was so corrupted and how heroes are more picked apart even if they make the smallest mistake. If society questions what is a hero and what justice was, they'd win.

"And you like winning, right?" He asked Bakugou.

"Dabi, let him go." Shigaraki instructed him.

The dark haired male looked at him in confusion, "You know he'll just fight."

"It's fine! We're recruiting him! We should treat him as an equal." Shigaraki explained, "Besides, he's smart enough to know that he can't take us all, especially if he'd like that girl's blood on his hands."

Dabi turned to the fully covered man, "Hey Twice, you do it."

Twice was very reluctant, "Sure thing, no way!"

"Just do it."

Twice then began to untie Bakugou's restraints, the other villains apologizing for their ways of retrieving Bakugou and how they aren't all evil, they've all suffered.

In a split second, Bakugou kicked Twice away and used an explosion in Shigaraki, before grabbing Hailey protectively.

"B-Bakugou what are you doing?!" Hailey shrieked.

"I'm done listening to this endless bullshit. Can you get to the point or do you just like the sound of your own voice?" Bakugou growled at Shigaraki. "Basically what you're saying is that you want to cause some trouble and you want me to join you. Well screw you."

"I like to win, I wanna win just like All Might, no matter what you have to offer. That will never change, do you understand?" Bakugou continued, and Hailey knew that Bakugou would be ready to attack, so she wrapped her arms around his neck securely and tightly.

The conference was still on and Mr Aizawa had defended Bakugou's attitude and heroism when questioned by a dickhead reporter.

"Those villains are grossly mistaken if they think that either Bakugou or Roselle will join their side."

"Did you hear that?" Bakugou sneered, "Those teachers know me better than I thought."

"I'll never join your league of bastards!"

Bakugou's arms twitched, and Hailey's grip tightened. He was prepared to fight and everyone could see him itching to attack.

"We may not be at the camp, but I can still use my quirk!" He announced.

The villains made comments about how smart Bakugou was, but he should have acted like they were winning for better results.

Shigaraki still stood still, looking down at the hand that had fallen from his face. His hand moved up and Kurogiri shouted for him to be calm.

Bakugou and Hailey felt a pang of fear and hesitation.

(Hewwo you angry Pomeranian)

But instead of an attack, his arm was to hold back his comrades and tell them not to lay a finger on Bakugou. He then picked up the hand and placed it back on his face.

"These heroes..are still valuable pieces." Shigaraki said lowly, "I wish you would've listened to me and what I had to say. I thought that you and I could come to an understanding."

"What, do you think that we're the same? Not a chance." Bakugou spat.

"Then it looks like I'm the one with no choice." Shigaraki then turned to the television screen. "Master, lend me your power."

"A wise decision, Tomura Shigaraki."

"A master huh? Here I thought that you were calling the shots." Bakugou commented.

"Kurogiri, Compress, time to put them back to sleep." Shigaraki instructed them.

Compress sighed, "I can't believe he's such a bad audience member."

"If you want me to listen, get on your knees and beg!" Bakugou shouted, to hide his panicked thoughts. He had to get out of there, he had to get Hailey out of there. She for sure would become a pawn or likely die, and maybe the same fate awaited him. But he wasn't going to stick around and find out.

"Baku, you can leave me." Hailey said quietly, her grip loosening. "I'm only holding you back."

"I already told you, that's not fucking happening, Carrot Head."

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

"Hello? I got a pizza delivery here."

(Man I could use some fucking pizza right now)

Then unexpectedly, All Might smashes through the wall where Spinner stood.

"What the-"

"Kurogiri! A gate!"

Before a moment longer, Kamui Woods jumped in and held all of the villains with his quirk. Then Gran Torino zoomed in and knocked Dabi unconscious before he could escape.

"You can't run anymore, League of Villains! Because we are here now!" All Might declared with his heroic enthusiasm.

The pro hero Edgeshot then said into the room and opened the door to reveal many troops armed and ready. He explained that the police were surrounding the building and Endeavor was with them waiting outside.

"You must have been scared, but you stayed strong and protected your classmate. I'm sorry, but you're safe now, young man." All Might said to Bakugou.

"Thank goodness, we're- GAH!" Hailey was about to sigh in relief when a shooting pain went in her hip and wrist. She tightly gripped Bakugou's shirt.

"Paralyzer didn't lie when he said that you wouldn't have long to live. He thought that the pain would cloud your judgement, if that wasn't the case, you'd die anyways." Shigaraki commented to the girl, whose wound began to heavily bleed again. "And of course I went through all of that trouble... KUROGIRI, WARP OVER AS MANY AS YOU CAN!"

A moment passed and Kurogiri reported that the Nomus were gone.

All Might went on to scold Shigaraki for underestimating Bakugou's soul, Hailey's strength, the police force and the heroes' fury.

The heroes and police had the villains corned. All that was left was finding the boss that ran the whole league.

Although Kurogiri was knocked unconscious by Edgeshot, Nomus began to appear.

"What the-"

Soon the substance flooded out of Bakugou and Hailey's mouths, absorbing them and teleporting them to a different location.

Bakugou and Hailey began coughing and hacking from the substance.

"Damnit what the hell?!"

"Baku- ergh, I don't know if I can-"

"My apologies, Bakugou and little Roselle."

Both of them looked up to see a formally dressed man with a skeleton like mask over his face.

Bakugou looked around for his surroundings, only for more of the substance to appear and the villains appearing from them, also coughing from their experience with it.

Shigaraki was on his knees, "Master.."

"So you've failed once more, Tomura. But you must not be discouraged. You'll try again, that's why I brought your associates back with you. Even these children. Despite Robert's emotional ties with the girl, they both would make excellent vessels for your game board. Start over as many times as you need and I'll remain here to provide help." The man said to Shigaraki in a chilling matter.

"Ah, there you are."

"Baku- move!" Hailey shouted, to which he didn't hesitate in backing up.

All Might then cane diving down from the sky towards the villain.

"I'LL HAVE YOU RETURN MY STUDENTS, ALL FOR ONE!" He gritted, as the boss villain had deflected All Might's powerful punch.

The powerful pushing between the villain and hero pushed almost everyone away in a gust of wind. Bakugou was able to hold on tightly to his classmate so they wouldn't be separated or she wouldn't get injured any worst.

All for One was able to throw All Might a long distance away from the area, after commenting on how weak he looked and how he wasn't going to die a second time.

"All Might!" Bakugou shouted in distress.

"Don't worry, it'll take more than that to kill him." One for All stated and then turned to Shigaraki, "Leave the battlefield, Tomura. And take the children with you."

All for One then used a quirk to forced Kurogiri's unconscious body to create a large warp portal and explained why he couldn't create one himself.

"But what about you?" Shigaraki asked his master.

All for One then levitated and counteracted another one of All Might's punches. The rest of the members then turned to Bakugou.

"Shit.. Roselle, hang onto me tightly and don't fucking die on me, okay? Deku and those other losers might fucking hate me more than they already do, got it?" Bakugou said, readying his quirk.

"Never thought that you'd be the type to care about what others think about ya, Baku." Hailey teased in her quiet voice.

"Let's do this, if you can, use that fucking quirk of yours." Bakugou said, before being able to dodge Twice's string weapon.

Hailey held onto Bakugou tightly, because in this case, her life depended on him. Every time he dodged, she would have to forced herself to ignore the pain and hold onto him tighter. She hoped and prayed that he would at least be able to escape.

"Baku- you have to-" Hailey was once again going to tell him to leave her, but was interrupted by a familiar glacier of ice and the sight of Midoriya, Iida and Kirishima being propelled high into the air.

Kirishima extended his arm for Bakugou and yelled at him, "COME ON!"

Without a moment's hesitation, Bakugou used his explosions to propel him and Hailey into the air at a great speed. He was able to strongly grip Kirishima's hand with his own, and used his other to hold onto Hailey so she didn't slip.

"Are you guys idiots or what?" Bakugou yelled at them, clearly happy to see them.

"Bakugou on my mark-"

"Don't tell me what to do!" Bakugou argued against Iida.

"Nows not the time to fight you guys!" Kirishima insisted.

Before any of the villains could reach the students, Mount Lady and Gran Torino were able to get in the way of Compress and knock the rest unconscious.

As the boys landed, Midoriya quickly turned to Hailey, who Bakugou readjusted so she was held in a bridal style.

"How is she doing?" Midoriya questioned with concern.

"Her stab wound was frozen in place for the two days but now it's bleeding again, and that shit for an old man she has stomped on her wrist. It's probably broken." Bakugou explained lowly.

The boys stared at her in wide eyes, now realizing that she was unconscious.

"H-how long has she been out of it?!" Kirishima cried.

"Not long, but someone is needs to take her to an ambulance or something." Bakugou retorted.

"I'll do such, it's the least that I could do for her." Iida volunteered and gently took Hailey from Bakugou and rushed away.

Hailey didn't know what happened next...  not until she woke up.
