{My Hero Academia} Am I Okay?
Returning to the dorms was the thing that Hailey looked forward to the most. Going to bed could end this nightmare of a day, to put an end to the day and deal with everything the next day.
Of course, that wasn't before entering the living room of the dorms and seeing almost all of her classmates in front of the television where a breaking news story was just airing.
They all turned to look at her and her teacher who entered.
"The villain known as Paralyzer has been taken into custody. It was thanks to the pro hero, Eraserhead and a student fro U.A.-"
"Turn that off and head to bed." Mr Aizawa ordered his students.
They all gave him a concerned look before Kirishima stood up and approached Hailey. "Hold on, Mr Aizawa."
"Are you okay, Hailey?" He inquired.
"Um.. yeah.. kinda..I-I don't know.." Hailey admitted, feeling nervous and overwhelmed again.
Kirishima took it upon himself to give her a comforting hug. "That's okay."
Todoroki came over and put his hand on her shoulder as his own means of comforting her. Others followed and group hugged the girl who felt tears in her eyes again.
"D'aw jeez you guys, I don't know if I'm gonna cry because I'm just tired or you're being too nice to me." Hailey chuckled with a sniffle.
"Aizawa." All Might called to the teacher, catching everyone's attention. "Principal Nezu has called for a quick meeting." He said solemnly.
Mr Aizawa grumbled in annoyance, "You kids get to your rooms, I don't want to come back here to deal with anything else."
Hailey gave him a worried look, he noticed and reassured her, "I'm sure it's just about what happened. Paparazzi issues."
She nodded, even though she was more worried about her teacher than herself. Two separate issues including three of his students within twenty four hours.
"Good night, students." All Might waved as he and Mr Aizawa left the dorms, toward the school.
"Mr Aizawa is correct, we should all get a good night's rest! We won't know what tomorrow brings!" Iida declared.
"Y-yeah! I'm tired as fu-" Hailey stopped herself, noticing Iida eyeing her cautiously. "uuuuh-izzity. Tired as fizzity."
Iida gave her a satisfied look before turning.
"Fizzity uck." Hailey said quickly before he left and rushed off to the stairs before Iida could scold her.
Although everyone else laughed at her antics, Midoriya still felt worried for Hailey.
"Oh wait Hailey! I-I need your garbage!" Midoriya sputtered an excuse to follow her.
Mina scoffed teasingly as she watched Midoriya hurry off to follow Hailey.
"Oh please, that's a pretty weak excuse." She then giggled.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Just get to your room. Just get your room. Almost there. Don't cry.' Hailey's thoughts were racing, as she attempted to subside her tears that threatened to spill.
"Shit, hold it together." She muttered, annoyed at herself as she held the doorknob that led into her dorm room.
'That's pretty pathetic, you were just laughing with your friends and now you're crying. Over what? Your dad is a villain and you could get your teacher in trouble? Good for you.'
Negative thoughts began to fill her head, pushing her tear down her cheeks.
"Hailey?" Midoriya called, surprising Hailey and she quickly wiped her eyes. "Are you alright?" He asked with concern.
"O-oh yeah! Totally! My tear-ducts are just being weird." Hailey answered, attempting to smile at him.
Midoriya frowned as he didn't believe the lie.
"You don't have to lie to me, Hailey. If you trust me enough, you can tell me what's going on." The freckled boy assured.
Hailey leaned her head straight onto Midoriya's chest, "Izuku, what would I ever do without you? Guardian Angel time." Hailey lowly laughed.
Midoriya pulled her closer and rubbed her back, feeling a bit of accomplishment when she accepted his attempt at comforting her by returning the actions.
'Seriously? You're such a crybaby. Why should you even be comforted? Look at the mess you're making on someone who's being nice to you.'
"Shit, sorry I'm making your shirt wet." Hailey blurted, realizing how she lost control of her tears and noticing the wet stains they were leaving on the fabric of his shirt.
As she tried to move from the embrace, Midoriya grasped her hand.
"Please don't hide yourself and your feelings, Hailey!" He exclaimed. "It bothers everyone in the class, even Mr Aizawa, even All Might...even me! Because we want to help you. I don't want to see you like that! I want.." Midoriya paused as he thought for the right words. "If I want you to call me your Guardian Angel, I want to look out for you and help you be happy! If-if I'm being honest, I feel stronger when you call me your Guardian Angel, stronger than any hero I aspire to be."
Hailey lightly giggled, "That's why I like you, Izu. No matter what compliment or praise you get, you always take it to heart to make yourself better."
Midoriya's face flushed at her comment, "A-ah! You really think so?" He stammered.
"I do, and really appreciate you caring so much- everyone else too." Hailey nodded, "It's just so much happening at the same time that I feel like I need to kinda process it." She admitted.
Midoriya nodded in understanding, "I get it."
"Yeah, but sometimes I wish I could just forget everything. 'Ignorance is bliss', is what my old man used to say. Fuck, I can't believe that I would actually consider what that asshole says." Hailey grumbled and facepalmed herself.
"Hailey.."
'Now you're just wasting his time, save the both of you the embarrassment.'
Hailey gave Midoriya a forced smile and wiped her eyes, "I should probably get to bed. Been a crazy day, didn't get a lot of sleep, so I'm probably just spouting out random stuff now." She awkwardly chuckled to divert her friend's concern.
Seeing his conflicted expression, Hailey sighed before she opened her door.
"I really appreciate you trying to help, Izu." She assured, "You've helped a lot by just listening to me vent. So, thanks for that."
"A-any time, Hailey!" Midoriya then gestured to himself, "You know you can always count on me!"
A smile, a real one was sent Midoriya's way as Hailey felt a strong sense of fondness towards the green haired male.
"I know." She said, "Night, Izu."
"Night, Hailey."
And with that, Hailey entered her room and shut the door behind her. Leaning against it, Hailey placed a hand over her heart as she realized how fast it was racing.
'He has no idea how much I appreciate him.' She sighed and eyed her bed. 'Fuck, I'm tired.'
Plopping her face onto her pillow and on her bed, Hailey attempted to cease her negative thoughts by declaring to herself that she'll worry about things tomorrow.
'You do know that you're going to have to face some consequences.'
'Shut up, me.'

"What do you mean 'a punishment is in order'?!" Aizawa exclaimed in frustration, standing to his feet in front of his colleagues.
"Aizawa, you should settle down." All Might warned, putting an effort in calming him down.
"She did nothing wrong! None of it is her fault." Aizawa argued, ignoring All Might's plea.
"Even though you were there, Aizawa, we see it from a different perspective." Midnight stated.
Aizawa was none too pleased to be included in a meeting to determine the possible punishment for his student.
"Then please, elaborate." He urged, putting emphasis to highlight his sarcasm.
"From what it looks like, Hailey Roselle was considered for recruitment for the League of Villains, that's why Paralyzer came into contact with her. He was able to convince her to meet up at her own house, along with a U.A. teacher. If things had gone differently, she would be in their new location and you could have been gravely injured." Vlad King alleged in his usual serious demeanour.
Then Principal Nezu piped in, "Of course, that was all just theory, provided what you told me before and what you told the press after the whole ordeal. We'd just like the full story before taking any further action."
Aizawa sighed and sat back down in his seat.
"Go ahead, Aizawa."
"Earlier today, Roselle asked me about the rules and precautions that would be in place in order to visit her home. She said that she was worried about it being broken into and that she wanted to make sure that some important papers were still on the establishment. I noticed that she was having a personal conflict; lack of sleep, uncharacteristically quiet and unfocused, so I assumed that I could help her take off one of the sources of her stress. That's when I came to you, Principal Nezu, to ask about her receiving permission to visit her house and if she needed a teacher to accompany her." Aizawa explained.
"But is it true that she specifically requested that the teacher to accompany her was you?" Midnight inquired, raising her hand as she interrupted.
Aizawa nodded, "Yes, all things considered, I was the best equipped to help apprehend the villain."
"But she didn't tell you the context of her reasoning to leave the premises?" Vlad king added.
"She did confess that she had gotten a call the day prior from an unknown number, claiming to be her mother. But Roselle admitted that she had suspicions that it was the villain, Paralyzer, due to how he conveyed himself during the call." Aizawa admitted, noticing that the truth might be turned around on Hailey's case. "She wasn't sure if it was her anxiety turning a small thought into paranoia."
"Was this before or after you engaged with the villain?" Cementos inquired.
'This is just as bad as a court room. What am I, on trial?' Aizawa scoffed in his mind, but answered honestly.
"Before, though unfortunately it was after we left the school grounds and during the car ride to her home." He answered.
The other staff pondered for a moment, before someone muttered something about things being plotted.
Aizawa's head snapped towards the direction where it was heard. "What did you say?" He spat.
"It's no lie that the kid's father is a villain, who's to say that she isn't a traitor within our walls?" Vlad King inquired. "Maybe Mic's concern from our last meeting had more purpose?" He speculated.
Present Mic looked down at his crossed arms solemnly.
"But she isn't a villain. Hailey Roselle shows more promise as a hero, than most students! Her optimism is almost unparalleled-" Aizawa defended.
Then Principal Nezu spoke up, "Despite Hailey Roselle's family circumstances, we should overlook them. She has chosen us to teach her and help her become a hero, many of her classmates and others can vouch for her intentions. Although, I understand the worry from this situation, I've decided to give Hailey Roselle a day of house arrest to monitor her and hopefully put the rest of us at ease."
"Just one day?" All Might repeated.
"Until Ms Roselle is proven to be with the League of Villains, she will be monitored for a single day of school." The principal reinstated, sternly. "Are we in agreement?"

A familiar guitar ringtone came from Hailey's phone, immediately waking her up.
Quickly picking it up, she put her phone to her ear, after unplugging it.
"Hello, Luka?" She answered, recognizing the signature ringtone she assigned for his contact from a small tune he made for her.
"Hey Hails, how've you been?" The calm voice of her childhood friend greeted.
"I-I've been.. busy to say the least.." Hailey chuckled.
"I would imagine, I've seen the news reports." Luka remarked.
"Even the one from tonight?" Hailey asked.
Luka sighed, "Yeah, Yuri texted me about it. He said he would've called you too, but he's hanging out with a certain someone."
Hailey smirked, "'A certain someone'? Is that Otabek?" She teased.
Luka's laugh was heard from the other line, "There's no denying that fact."
"I've told you guys that I'll always find thing out eventually." Hailey giggled, "Tell him that I approve. Now we can go on motorcycle trips without leaving someone behind!"
"Totally, we'll have to plan that." Luka agreed, "Almost should have planned a day from summer break."
Hailey paused, cursing herself for preventing what would have been a fun experience. "Shit, sorry." She apologized.
"No, don't feel bad! Honestly, we should have came and visited you in the hospital." Luka pointed out.
"Why didn't you?" Hailey blurted, then panicked, "I mean, don't feel bad! None of my classmates visited me either! You guys would have had to get plane tickets and those are expensive, plus you're graduating this year and Yura's got so many competitions coming up-" She sputtered.
"They didn't come?" Luka began, then changed his mind about what he was going to say, "It doesn't matter, Hailey. There's no excuse that we didn't come and visit you. Sure we meant to, but you're like family to Yuri and I. We've been friends since tikes, we should've come."
Hailey felt appreciative of Luka's sympathy, "It's the thought that counts. Besides, I think I'd be more of a mess if you guys saw me in the hospital. Plus, I'm sure we'll find a weekend to hang out."
"Yeah, maybe I can convince our lovely careers teacher to make a special field trip to visit our local celebrity." Luka remarked in a teasing voice.
Hailey laughed, "Oh jeez, they still haven't let it go?"
"Nope, and I think it's really cool to be friends with two celebrities." Luka joked.
"Oh my god, shush you." Hailey retorted. "But there's no doubt that Ms Clover would be all for bringing you guys to U.A., but let me tell ya that it isn't what it all seems."
"I guess we'll just have to come and see for ourselves."
"Shouldn't you be asleep? What time is it even there?" Hailey asked.
"Eh, only eleven forty five." Hailey knew Luka was shrugging.
"Luka Couffaine, get your ass to sleep before I fly myself to Marlain and put you in a coma." She declared, in a teasing manner.
"Only if you wake me with a princess kiss." He joked.
"Watch out before Chat finds out you're after his flirting throne, Mister Smooth Guy." Hailey laughed.
Luka chuckled as well, "I cross that bridge when it comes to it. Night, Hails."
"Night, Luks." Hailey said softly, before hanging up her smartphone and holding to her chest, feeling better.
