"God dammit!" I yell as my Ninetails falls to the ground, once again. Throwing the Pokédollars in the air, I ran to the nearest Pokémon centre. "Rough day today?" Nurse Joy says cheerfully. "Yeah....just terrible...." I had over each of my Pokémon, sighing. "I just can't do it! It's too hard!" The fun healing music plays through the air as I sigh once again. "I don't understand....I have a good team!" Joy hands my Pokémon back over to me and shakes her head. "Don't worry, you'll get it one day! I'll be cheering you on!" A small smile grazes my lips. "Thanks....I'll see you tomorrow!" Walking out of the Pokémon centre, I call upon Charizard to fly me back home. I quickly land, walking with a frown into my house and pull out all of my Pokémon. "Hey guys....great job today." I pat Ninetails' head and sit down on the couch. As soon as I did, a loud knock came from the other side of the door. "Yo! Let me in!" It was Guzma. Great. "Come in!...." I yelled back. Guzma busted in, panting uncontrollably. "I came as soon as I heard.... Congrats!" I tilted my head in confusion. "What did you hear?" Guzma's wide smile dropped slightly. "That you became the champion, yo!" I frowned. "No....you heard wrong....I had my ass handed to me on a silver platter...." I looked down, avoiding eye contact with Guzma. "Oh." He walked over to me, patting my back. "It'll be alright, kid. You'll win some day...." Without even thinking, I leaned into Guzma, taking in his warmth. "Yeah? Like when? It's been a month...." I felt Guzma jump slightly, in excitement I assume. "Let's battle! Right now!" Shaking my head, I frown. "Not in the mood, Guz....I'm sorry...." I felt him grab my shoulders violently. "Please!" It'll get ya back in a good mood!" Guzma really, would not give up. "Fine, fine. Let's go."
The battle was over in a matter of minutes. The winner? Sure as hell wasn't me. "Yo...." I heard Guzma let out a shaky breath. I returned my now fainted Mimikyu to it's Pokéball. "Great job buddy...." I lost....to Guzma....of all people. "I-I....fuck! I can't do anything right!" I fell to my knees, sobbing lightly. "Y-yo, kid. It's alright! Calm down!" Guzma ran over to me, trying to calm me down. "I'm suppose to be the champion! I can't lose!" I yell loudly, pushing Guzma away from me, mind clouded with rage. Guzma put a hand on my cheek and another on my waist. "Listen to me! You don't have to be the best, or the champion, or anything!" Tears continued to roll down my cheeks as Guzma held on even tighter. "It's okay to lose sometimes." I buried my face into the crook of Guzma's neck and closed mu eyes, relaxing into his touch.
"G-Guzma...."
"Oh finally, you're awake. Took ya long enough." I sat up, still not opening my eyes. "W-what....?" Guzma sat down beside me, wrapping his arm around me. "Feelin' better? Ya passed out in my arms. Didn't think ya wanted me that much." I felt my face heat up as I rubbed my eyes, remaining silent. "It was a joke, kid. I didn't mean it." I could hear the hurt in his voice. Once I opened my eyes, I finally realized how close Guzma was to me, not to mention how red his normally pale face was. "No...." Is all I could breathe out, I couldn't control my words, they just spewed out. "What was that?" Guzma put a hand on my forehead, making sure I didn't have a fever or something. "Guzma...I-I..." I slapped my hand over my mouth before I could say anything else. "Kid...did you hit your head or somethin'?" I shook my head violently, pushing Guzma away. "N-no! I just...I'm tired..." I could see the sadness in Guzma's eyes. "Ah well...I guess that's my cue to leave....see ya later?" He got up and was about to leave. "No! C-can....you stay? Maybe for the night....if you want...." I mumble. Guzma erupted in laughter. "Sure kid. Anythin' for you."
I finally did it. I finally beat the Elite Four, and I finally became the champion. "Guzma! Guzma! I....did it...." I bursted into the mansion Team Skull took over and into Guzma's room. Only problem was, he wasn't there. With a sad sigh, I left the house, and flew back to my own. As I hopped off of Charizard, I heard some whispers come from the inside of my house.
"Stop being idiots and hurry up! She'll be here soon!"
"We're trying boss! It's very hard though! Maybe a little help?!"
"Why are you doing this for some girl though?" One voice spoke out. Then, silence.
"Shut it!" Oh I knew who it was.
Without even thinking, I ran into my house. "What is going on here?!" In a matter of seconds, a grunt fell off of a ladder, another almost flooded my house with....something and Guzma, he flipped his shit. "(Y/n)! Y-you're home early!" He rushed over to me, still freaking out. "A little too early....I wanted to make a surprise party for ya before ya got home...." Guzma looked at me with sad eyes. "I'm sorry... I really wanted to do somethin' special....ya know, cause ya beat the Elite Four." I smiled widely, hugging Guzma harder than ever before. "Thank you! I-I....you're amazing!" He laughed, hugging me back gently. "It's no problem, kid." Guzma kissed my forehead, laughing like a little boy. "I love ya, (Y/n)." I suddenly tensed up, he said it like it was no problem. Hell, it came out of no where. What is he thinking!? He isn't nervous or anything! I suck up my pride and manage to stutter out a response. "I-I....Love you too, Guzma..." I laid my burning face in Guzma's chest and sighed, shaking out of nervousness. Guzma chuckled, I just knew he had that look on his face. Asshat.
"But hey, it don't really matter that you won. You've always been my champion."
