Chapter 18
Ryuu had done his best in warning Kazumi's classmates, but he forget to factor in one very important detail:
Kazumi was wearing an extremely short skirt.
For the first half hour of class, the boys kept away in fear of Kazu, but every time they glanced over at their new classmate and caught sight of her long, slender legs - far too much of which were showing - their resolve grew.
By lunch, all thoughts of Kazu's assured retribution were completely gone.
Kazumi stood up, bento in hand, but three boys instantly flocked her, standing in her path.
"K-Kazumi-san, please eat with us today!" one of them nervously said, and the others nodded.
Kazumi just stared at them with blank eyes. "No, thanks-"
But she could no longer leave her seat, as too many boys were barricading her path. With an annoyed sigh as she realized that going to the roof had suddenly become much more physically exhausting than it should have been, she sat back down, and glared at the boys before opening her bento.
It was neat and nicely made, and all of the boys instantly came to the conclusion that she must have made it (while in truth, it was actually Ryuu's doing).
One of the boys made to snatch away something from her lunch, but Kazumi stabbed a chopstick clean through his hand. He started bleeding and had to be taken to the nurse, but he was sparkling as he was carried away...
"Damn," Kazumi muttered. "Now I only have one chopstick." Instantly, a dozen boys offered theirs, but that only made Kazumi more pissed off.

Meanwhile, Ryuu sat on the roof, eating his lunch alone.
I wonder if Kazumi's okay? he briefly thought. Normally, Kazu would be up there eating lunch with him...Maybe she's making friends...

Back in Kazumi's classroom, another boy was being taken away, this time after being stabbed with a pencil, for trying to steal a piece of paper with Kazumi's handwriting on it while she slept.
There was also a report of ten cell phones snapped in half after boys tried to take pictures of said subject while sleeping.
And yet somehow, at the end of the day, despite numerous injuries and property damage...
"I want to be punched by her...'cause if you really think about it, that would be like she was caressing my face for a whole second..."
"It would totally be worth a trip to the nurse."
"Imagine if Kazumi was the nurse."
"..." Nosebleeds, commence.
...Kazumi had unwittingly seduced the other half of her classroom (and most likely, the school) without putting any energy into it at all. Of course, the females now hated her, as she'd stolen the males' attention...
Which meant that, technically speaking, everybody loved Kazu, and everybody hated Kazu, as Kazu and Kazumi were actually the same person.
At the end of the day, Ryuu waited by the school doors for Kazumi, assuming that he'd walk her home, but school had already ended ten minutes ago, and Kazumi was nowhere to be seen. Finally, Ryuu backtracked to Kazumi's classroom and discovered the problem.
Kazumi was sitting in her desk on the other side of the room, not even bothering to stand up and attempt to leave, because a flock of boys were blocking her way to the door.
Ryuu caught her eye and mouthed, "Why don't you just beat them up?"
She looked at him like he was stupid, and he realized why. Because that would take energy. Clearly, Kazumi was exhausted from her day.
Ryuu made his way through the crowd and ended up next to Kazumi. He grabbed for her hand and pulled her to her feet. "C'mon, we have to go."
All at once, he realized his mistake.
"Wait, HE gets to go HOME with her?!"
"No fair!"
Ryuu turned to Kazumi. "Why do these guys even like you so much? You're violent, lazy, and moody. Sure, your looks-" Ryuu cut himself off before telling Kazumi - Kazu - that she - that he - looked, well, hot. He'd looked attractive before, of course, but Ryuu wasn't attracted to him. But, with Kazu's current state... Ryuu looked away and forced a shrug. "Well, you're kind of average. Nothing special," he said, trying to hide his own feelings, but he didn't realize how much he'd just insulted Kazumi.
She glared at him, but he was looking away, and he didn't see the look on her face. Sure, Kazu wasn't a girl full-time, but no girl likes being told that they're "average," even if it's obviously not true. Kazumi turned towards her classmates. "Where was that place you were talking about?"
The one closest to her blushed. "It's a k-karaoke place! It's right by my house!" he added, as though Kazumi cared, as though she'd be going to his house, which she would most certainly not be.
Kazumi was quiet for a moment, and Ryuu thought she was just kidding. "Is there food?"
The boys all nodded eagerly.
"Do I have to pay for the food?"
They all shook their heads. "We'll cover it!"
Ryuu sighed, shaking his head as he reached for Kazumi's hand. "Come on, let's-"
At the last second, Kazumi pulled away from him, slapping his hand away and turning from him so he couldn't see her face.
"Karaoke sounds great," she said, her voice low and blank. Then she started walking out of the classroom, and the boys followed eagerly.
Ryuu was left alone in the room, wondering what he'd done wrong.
