37 I Love You Damn It
Part 37 I Love You Damn It
"He has forgotten everything that RECENTLY happened in his life... maybe, three or four years' happenstance..."
Arnav and Akash looked at each other horrified.
"What should we do Doctor?" Akash asked.
"He could not remember anything even though you told him about the recent happenings. It's a waste of time. He could not remember anything. Just go with the flow"
"Can't we treat him?"
"If you think it is necessary, consult a psychiatrist. He will suggest you a treatment,"
"Thank you, doctor"
"Welcome," The doctor went.
"What's this Bhai? What are we going to do now?"
"Let's wait and watch"
They saw a nurse giving Shyam an injection. They came to him.
"Sir, the doctor asked me to give him a sleeping injection. He is confused. He needs rest. Let him sleep for a while" the nurse said.
Arnav nodded ok.
"Sale Sahib, please take me home. This atmosphere sucks" Shyam said lying on the bed comfortably.
His eyes were drowsy. It seemed the injection started working. He dozed off within a few minutes.
Arnav gestured to Akash. They came out of the ward and headed to the car. Akash was silent until they got into the car. They put on their seatbelts.
"Bhai, are you going to take him home?" Akash asked wearily.
Arnav looked at him and asked,
"Do we have a choice?"
"But, Bhai..."
"He forgot the recent happenings. That means he was the OLD Shyam when he married Di. What could you do with him?"
"Bhai..."
"Mmm?"
"I don't trust him," Akash said.
Arnav smirked. Akash understood he too didn't trust him.
"But, why did he perform this drama? What's necessary? Is there any chance for him to know about the Diamond set issue?" Akash tried to connect the dots.
"I'm also thinking the same"
"I think he should have seen them visiting RM"
Arnav nodded yes.
"If you also have the doubt, why do you think of bringing him to RM?" Akash asked.
"To watch him closely... is not keeping our enemy in our eyesight a good idea?"
Akash became thoughtful.
"Shyam is a dangerous man I have never seen. It's not wise to let him do things without our knowledge. Let us watch him"
Akash sighed.
"Why did that man come into our family...? That too to Di's life?" Akash was annoyed.
Arnav didn't answer but concentrated on the road. What could he say? There was no answer to some questions.
They reached RM. Raizada women were sitting... or, maybe waiting for them in the living room.
"Chotte, what happened?" Nani asked.
"Shyam lost his memory..." Arnav said observing Anjali.
"Whaaat?" Nani and Manorama were shocked.
Anjali looked at him perplexed.
"Yeah, he doesn't remember any recent happenings"
They were silently sparing glances not knowing what to say. Khushi and Payal spared a content glance.
"That means won't he remember what he did?" Manorama asked.
Arnav nodded yes.
"That means has he forgotten your wedding too?"
"Yes... he has forgotten three or four years' events...! He was telling the doctor that he went to Lucknow to meet his Buaji who was ill"
"Whaaat?" Nani murmured.
"Sasuma, didn't his Bua die within a few months of their wedding?" Manorama asked.
Nani nodded yes.
"I'm bringing him to RM," Arnav said.
Anjali looked at him jerking.
"No Chotte... he might have forgotten everything but we do remember everything. Tell him what he did and leave him in the hospital itself," She said choking.
"Di, we can't do that. He forgot what he did. We know how gentle he was when he married you. Don't you know how he was? He will not believe it even though we tell him what he did. He will think we are blaming him. As we know what he will do in the future, we can be in DISTANCE without trusting him...right?"
Without saying anything, Anjali left the place.
Akash was fed up. If Anjali herself didn't want Shyam to come to RM, why Arnav was stubborn? He was weary.
Arnav walked to his room. He stopped and looked at Khushi.
"Khushiiii..."
"Haan?" She stood up.
"May I get coffee?"
She nodded ok and rushed to the kitchen.
"Do you need coffee?" Payal asked Akash.
"Yeah, I badly need one"
Payal followed Khushi to the kitchen, whereas Aksh followed Arnav.
"Bhai, Di herself said she doesn't want Shyam in RM"
"do you think she will be stubborn in her decision?"
Akash was stuck.
"We can't trust Di. We knew her love for Shyam. It's so blind. She may say in the future that, she would have changed him if she was given a chance. Women are so mean you know. They will do anything for their partner"
Akash was stunned.
"Bhai, from when did you start analyzing girls to this extent?"
Arnav just smiled. Didn't he know how far his wife went to save his life?
"You are right, Bhai. We can't trust Di in Shyam's matter"
Arnav nodded yes and Akash left his room smiling.
In the meanwhile,
Payal came to the kitchen and brought the sugar and coffee powder to Khushi.
"Akashji also wants coffee. Let me prepare..." Payal said turning the stove on.
Payal looked at Khushi who was in deep thinking. She knew what Khushi was thinking. She shook her shoulder and said,
"I too don't believe Shyamji forgot everything,"
Payal turned the burner on to boil the milk.
Khushi nodded yes.
"He is more dangerous than what we think, Jeeji"
Payal nodded yes.
"See, how he tricked...! Arnavji himself is ready to bring him home now...and no one could question him about the diamond set... how foxy he is...!" she bit her teeth.
Payal was silent.
"Jeeji, we should be careful. We should not trust him"
"When did I say I will trust him?"
"We should be watchful too...but, no one should know we are watching him...!" She said whispering.
Payal nodded yes.
Khushi gave a cup to Payal. Taking another cup, she headed to their room.
She saw Arnav coming out of the washroom, taking a quick shower as he went to the hospital. Khushi extended the cup to him.
"Thank you" He smiled.
Khushi wondered as he was neither tensed nor confused. Arnav looked at her sipping the coffee. He smiled seeing her reading his face.
"Do you want to say something?"
She nodded no hurriedly and then yes slowly. Arnav chuckled.
"Tell me"
"I... don't trust Shyamji"
"Of course, I know that"
"I mean I think he is pretending to be a memory loss patient"
"Why do you think so?"
"Because his mind is gutter...! I think he plans to enter RM as a memory loss patient. So that, no one will question him about the diamond set"
"But, he didn't know we got to know about the diamond set"
"How do you say, Arnavji? What if he got to know about it? Is not there a chance for him to pretend?"
"But the doctors confirmed his memory loss"
"He would even confuse the doctor," she said gritting her teeth.
Arnav smiled. His facial expression changed and he shrank his eyes. Khushi nodded like what? He extended his index finger and hinted something. Khushi looked at her behind and again looked at him confusingly. Keeping the cup on the tea table, he came close to her. He touched the corner of her eyes, making her blink rapidly. He showed her his fingertip where a spot of kohl sticking. She shrank her eyes questioningly. He extended his hand towards her nape, making her flinch. He sighed and kept the kohl spot behind her ear. She looked at him parting her lips.
"You look beautiful in this dress" he whispered.
She looked at his face perplexed where a smirk crawling. Did he keep the kohl behind her ear to save her from bad eyes? Her cheeks turned pink. She looked here and there suffocating.
"I asked you something and you have not answered me yet," he said.
A sudden tension raised in her.
"You don't have to say anything," Arnav said and she looked at him with confusion.
"Because I know you too love me," he said huskily.
Khushi blushed and was supposed to run from there but Arnav clutched her hand to stop her from leaving. He pulled her towards him. Her back banged on his chest. He hugged her from behind, making her pant hard.
"Am I right?" he asked in her ear.
She looked at him, turning her face. He raised his brows smiling.
"Am I right?" he repeated his question.
She bowed down smiling with a blush.
"Wow... does Khushi Kumari Gupta know to blush?" he asked with a fainting smile.
He turned her towards him and made her look at him.
"Tell me..."
She tried to break the hug but Arnav gripped her tight.
"What's your problem? What stops you? I said I love you damn it..." he said a little annoyed.
Khushi blinked her eyes slowly. Arnav broke the hug. Khushi walked toward the door and stopped. Arnav looked at her gulping down.
"I love you too damn it," Khushi said bringing a smile to his face.
She rushed out giggling.
