Act I | The Swan Princess has Black Feathers
As the sun was setting itself in the horizon, the colors of blue, pale purple, and orange painted the sky to create dusk. The post lights of the streets of Paris beginning to lit up one by one to illuminate away the shadows of the avenues and boulevards.
The main streets and plazas were full of people buying and selling items, sometimes even trading their valuables to get another pricey object. But when the night arrived, the crowded places began to decrease its bustling merchants, peasants and guards for they all saw that twilight was about to come.
Merchants deconstructed their stalls and placed them into their wagons along with their goods, peasants walked back to their safe homes, and some guards were kept on duty to protect the capital's citizens and to prevent crimes being committed any further.
Now, this isn't your modern day era. In fact, it is around the 18th century. No advance technology could be seen nor comfortable clothes that you do not need to stack layers upon layers. Only books, board games, writing, and probably tea parties to buy you some time and keep you occupied.
When quietness and darkness took over the avenues and parts of the city that weren't decently lit up, a music can be heard faintly echoing among the silence of the streets.
The Grand Opera of Paris was opened for the night to showcase a divine evening of swans gracefully dancing like faeries.
Who goes to this kind of place you may ask? Powerful identities to the noblest families, most of them have all gathered to this opera house to watch a beautiful play of a lifetime.
Horses galloped as they pulled up beautiful carriages to the entrance of the opera. Once the horses has arrived, women in fancy and puffed out gowns of vibrant colors walked out one by one in poise. All of these ladies wore elegant necklaces made out of gold and diamonds, and some wore a beautiful hat made out of the finest silk and feathers. In their hands, they either held a feathery fan that went well with their gowns or a pair of opera glasses.
In the other hand, men wore black and white suits with black shoes. If they desire to not look alike, they can wear monocles or a black, top hat.
The staffs of the opera wore casual clothes in order to look decent in front of the noble bloods. They all respectfully welcomed every guests, guiding them inside the opera and then inside the auditorium. The other staff members guided some of the noblewomen and noblemen to the balcony seats of the auditorium for a more grander view.
To the pillars till the walls, nearly everything was made out of glittering gold and is sculpted to the finest designs. Red silk was used for the comfy chairs and for being curtains and carpets. Sparkling lights were in the right places and multiple, large chandeliers made out of glass, silver, and diamond were built in the center of the room.
A woman wearing a gown entirely of black colors walked out of the backstage and towards to the front of the stage. She did a bow and looked towards the audience with a faint smile. "Please wait for a moment, ladies and gentlemen, our ballet dancers are preparing themselves for the show. We thank you for your kind understanding." The woman said before bowing down again and walking back to the backstage.
This woman is in fact the owner of the Grand Opera of Paris and one of the famous ballet dancers of her time.
She calmly walked inside the room where her dancers are. When she saw that some of them weren't finished preparing their shoes, she let out a sigh before commanding them in a strict manner. "Girls! Quickly finish, our most-esteemed guests are waiting!" Her thundering voice stroke fear in some of her ballerinas to make them quickly finish. She watched them hurry like ducks trying to become a graceful swan, it looked rather ridiculous to be honest.
The woman shifted her eyes towards a scarlet haired ballerina, a smile appearing on her aging face. "Lesley, my star pupil always prepared to soar high," She walked over to the ballerina whose name is Lesley to place a hand on her shoulder. "Are you ready for your debut?" She asked like a caring mother.
Lesley smiled faintly, nodding her head. "Yes, madame, I thank you all for your support and teachings." She answered, doing a graceful bow to her teacher and mother-like figure.
The woman teared up a little, helping her star pupil to stand up straight and tall. "Oh, my child, don't be so formal! I have raised you and you've become a very talented ballet dancer! Now, take the light of the faeries and fly with them!" She encouraged Lesley, causing a smile on her face.
"Thank you, madame, thank you!" Lesley hugged the woman before dashing off towards the sides of the stage. She watched as musicians prepared their individual woodwinds, precision, and brass as well as the strings; the violins, violas, cellos, and double bass towards the front of the stage to create the music for the performance. She also saw a large piano standing besides a group of musicians.
When all of the ballet dancers were ready to dazzle and leap, the owner of the Grand Opera commanded the Conductor, the person whose back always faces the audience, to signal the musicians to start playing.
The Conductor obeyed and began to move his hand and the baton, causing all of the musicians to start playing the song of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake.
Lesley gracefully waltzed into the stage, the spotlight shining upon her glimmering body. She played the role of the Swan Princess, but her pure feathers hid something underneath its glory.
She wore an eyepatch made out of white feathers, her skirt being made out of white feathers as well, but with gems such as diamonds and sapphires. She truly looked dazzling that her exquisite appearance made most of the audience look at her in awe as she tiptoed and danced with the other ballerinas.
When the music was getting louder, Lesley lifted both of her hands up as she continued to jump, move one of her legs up and down while synchronizing with the others. She waited for the loudest part of the music until she suddenly swung one of her hands into the air, as if she was throwing out an imaginary rose.
As to not make herself look rather strange, Lesley began to ran to give herself momentum before leaping into the air. She created a long horizontal jump mid-air that started from one leg that began to slowly form a full split. With her weight pushing her down slightly, it gave off a gliding appearance. This is also known as a grand jeté.
Lesley landed right on the center of the stage, giving a graceful pose before bowing down to the audience. She heard countless claps of amusement and cheers of delightedness. The ballerina star smiled, raising her head to look at the audience that has enjoyed the show.
Meanwhile, in one of the higher levels of the balcony seats, a man was laying on the red floor, his blood almost unnoticeable because of its color. "Another one gone?" A man spoke under his breath, walking towards the balcony where the dead man was silently laying. He wore a blue suit and black tie, his brown orbs staring at the fresh corpse. He has noticed that whenever the owner of the Grand Opera's star pupil is featured in a play, someone always dies mysteriously.
It's a fortune for the owner that no one is suspecting her opera house yet. She should thank the rumors that has spread among the commoners and noble bloods.
The man wearing a blue suit smirked, his eyes shifting towards the scarlet-haired ballerina. He watched as she continued on with the play's story, as if nothing peculiar has happened. The man has to hand it to her, she could kill as silent as the wind and as accurate as an elite archer. Nearly all of the audiences has their eyes pinned on her, but through her graceful and divine appearance, they didn't know that she has killed someone by distracting them through a graceful move.
As the night grew darker, only the stars and the bright, full moon gave light upon the streets of Paris. Inside the auditorium of the Grand Opera, every guests stood up to their feet and clapped their hands when the music ended, showing that the performance has finally come to an end.
The staffs of the opera house led the nobles and members of the high positions towards their carriages for their journey back to their respectful homes. Once that was done, every staff member went back to clean the opera house to its former sparkling and clean glory.
After undressing herself to wear her more comfortable clothes; a white shirt, a dark blue skirt, and a blackcoat, Lesley thanked her teacher and the other ballerinas before saying good bye to them. She then casually walked towards to the exit of the opera house, making every staff who was cleaning nearby think that she's on her way back to her cozy and comfortable house after a tiring performance.
When the scarlet-haired ballerina looked around for a bit to make sure no one is looking in her direction, she quickly took a sharp turn towards the stairs that will lead her to the balcony seats.
She rushed to get to one of the balcony rooms, hoping that a staff hasn't come up here yet. Only after that she saw her victim laying on the carpet floor, then did she feel relaxed.
It was a rather tricky move to use needle as an arrow to strike her victim, but it was worth a shot since her other plans couldn't work out as decently. And plus, the needle that she used was handmade by herself, she had to make sure they'll work like a dart being thrown towards to a board.
"Now, there's one less corrupted official to be worried of." Lesley said quietly, a smile painted on her red lips. She crouched down and grabbed both of the corpse's arms, deciding to drag the dead male somewhere and then burn his body.
Using all of her strength, she quickly dragged the corpse away from the balcony and towards to one of the large windows of the hallway. To calm herself, she hummed softly, like a maiden humming a lullaby to a child to make them fall asleep. But in this case, it's rather gruesome.
Act II | Tavern Feast
"Feathers as pure as white, why does it show the colors of red under the moonlight?" A soothing voice of a male echoed throughout the hallway, disrupting the calm state and humming of the scarlet-haired ballerina.
Lesley couldn't help but drop the corpse and turn around to face towards the direction where the voice came. She saw a man wearing a blue suit besides a window. The lower part of his body was being lit up by the moon's light, while the shadows hid his chest and face. But the ballerina could tell right away, who this man was.
"Thou beauty so lovely like the blooming flowers of spring, why is misfortune must you will always bring?" He spoke again, walking closer into the moonlight to disperse the shadows that was covering half of his figure.
The man showed off his brown hair and chestnut orbs, his smooth and fair complexion making any beautiful female saw it feel envious. His tall height terrifyingly towering as well as his well-built body.
Lesley just glanced at him, preparing her needles that is invisible to the naked eye unless up close. "Gusion, what are you doing here?" She asked nonchalantly, wanting to dispose of the corpse as quickly as possible before any of the staff decides to show up at the wrong time.
Gusion, the man wearing the blue suit, just smiled at the star ballerina, wanting to chuckle at her behavior. "I'm asking you the same thing, what's an assassin like you doing in the most grand opera house in all of Paris? I thought you have settled in at London." He replied back, dodging her question.
"One of the government officials took my brother, a man who secretly specializes in playing the piano to be specific. I'm here to rescue him while killing some officials here and there as well as searching for that pianist." Lesley answered, the recalling of her precious brother being kidnapped making her heart ache painfully.
"Ah, I see," Gusion replied with a hint of pity in his voice. "I somewhat have happened to know who this pianist might be." He stated, spiking up Lesley's eagerness to know where that bastard kidnapper is hiding.
It's been quite long since the last time she has seen Harley, and she hasn't even stepped upon a clue or information regarding where this official pianist may be. So, at the current time, she was desperate and did not want to waste anymore time.
"This knowledge does not come for free, yes?" Lesley questioned, knowing her old friend, Gusion, very well than the others. In her eyes, he loves money more than any great pirate she has ever seen. It's most likely because he grew up in the nastiest slums and thus, desired to become wealthy in order to taste luxury. But now he's looking like a successful and wealthy man, it wouldn't hurt the star ballerina to ask him whether or not the information would cost her a fortune.
Gusion smiled before letting out a soft chuckle out of his lips. "Silly girl, do I still look like a poor man to you? All my golden coins, mansion, feasts, and women has now all made me uninterested in luxury," He sighed tiredly, both of his hands sliding inside his black pants' pockets. "The information doesn't come for free, sadly. But what I can say that it's rather cheap." His words brought shock and reassurance to Lesley that she was unable to comment about her friend's luxury life. She couldn't believe that he got bored of wealth when in the past he kept talking about it day and night.
"Name your price!" Lesley spoke a bit louder than her usual tone. Indeed, she was desperate for Gusion's information. "Spend some time with me, old friend. After that then I shall vow to tell you who and where that pianist may be." He replied, his price rather...peculiar.
Well, he did inform her that he is in fact bored. So, the star ballerina didn't find it strange to hear after hearing his small complaint about his luxury life earlier.
"I accept the offer. Now, do you mind helping me get rid of this body?" She asked, an upset look creeping upon her face. They have been talking for some time that she has forget that she might get caught red-handed by a staff member.
The man wearing the blue suit said no more than a smile. He carried the corpse onto his back before silently running towards a large window. The scarlet-haired ballerina followed him, running ahead of her friend in order to open the window for him to go through.
Gusion walked through the opened window carefully as not to slip on the rooftops. He then looked around the premises to see if any guards or people are around. When he confirmed to himself that the area was empty, he jumped from brick to another before finally landing on another building's rooftop. Lesley continued to follow his tracks, giving him the silent props of being able to carry a large body on his back while doing long jumps.
The two kept on running on the rooftops, leaving small crumbles of cement and the sound of bricks being stepped on. The moon was out and it gave out a luminescence light as well as an opportunity for someone to see them violating a law. But luckily, it was very late and nearly everyone in Paris were on their beds sleeping.
When Gusion came to a halt, they stopped in front of an opened tavern. Before going inside, he had to drop off the bloody corpse on the platform he was on. Seeing his expensive formal coat suit turn into ruins and stained by blood, he had to groan in annoyance as to having no choice but to take it off from his body. His hair was already messy, and now he has to take care of his outfit. He felt as if his night was becoming worse every minute.
"Such a waste..." He grumbled, unbuttoning the buttons of his coat suit. When he had reached the final button, he quickly undo it and slid off his coat off from his torso, revealing his rather loose white shirt that was hidden underneath from the coat. It pretty much showed off half of his built chest.
The scene startled Lesley that it made herself to immediately look away, a bit of red creeping into her cheeks. "And here I thought having a luxury life would make you a decent man." The scarlet-haired woman hissed, causing the man besides her to laugh a little. "An assassin's beauty is one of their most deadliest weapon. Look at yourself, entrapping those audiences with your graceful appearance." Gusion smirked, receiving a bitter glance from the star ballerina.
"It's for distraction and no other reasons." Lesley grumbled, leaping off the rooftop she was on to land on the cobblestone path below. She then casually walked inside the tavern, leaving her old friend behind to catch up. Her hands were against on the dusty, wooden doors of the tavern, she pushed it forward and then walked inside, the doors closing behind her back.
A bartender was doing his usual task serving his costumers. Some hookers were present and were trying to get money out of a group of drunk bastards, and few people were just casually conversing with one another.
Lesley was about to walk over to the bar counter to have a small drink when suddenly her eyes caught a small group of three wearing familiar cloaks, but their hoods hid their faces so she couldn't see their identities.
Two of them were female because of their body figure, and the other was clearly male because of his body structure and his height that was contrasting the two females.
Not realizing that she was looking at them for too long, the small group faced her, one of them wearing a red cloak suddenly gasping in shock. "Lesley!" The smallest female cried, quickly running over to her that the wind caused her hood to get knocked back, revealing her face.
Golden locks fell against the small female's neckline, her fair complexion, rosy cheeks and lips making her look like a porcelain doll. She outstandingly looked adorable than any female that Lesley has ever seen in her life. This small female's innocent beauty can't even be found in the most noblest families.
Lesley's eyes widened from surprise as she got hugged by the blonde-haired female. "Ru-Ruby..?" She questioned, lowering her head to look at the small female who was hugging her tightly.
The blonde-haired female whose name is Ruby lifted her head up, a smile on her face as she looked back at Lesley. "You remember me?!" She exclaimed, her smile widening. Lesley laughed a little at her gleeful and cute behavior, patting her on the head as if she was a child. "It's nice to see you again, Ruby," She said, her eyes shifting towards to the other two. "Let me guess, Alucard and Natalia?" She smiled faintly, glad to see her old friends again after a long period of time.
The two stepped forward, pulling down their hoods to reveal their faces. "Lesley, how are you?" Alucard smiled charmingly, handsome as always. The star ballerina's smile faded, becoming rather gloom after sighing tiredly. "Not well, I'm afraid to say. My dear brother has been kidnapped..." She answered, biting her lower lips.
The small group of three frowned, they didn't expect such a terrible thing to have happened to a beloved friend of theirs. The other female, who was much taller than Ruby walked forward. She comfortingly placed a hand on one of Lesley's shoulders. "If we work together, I am certain that we'll find your brother right away." She suggested, trying to cheer her old friend.
Lesley smiled at the offer, glad to have friends supporting her back. But, they looked busy and she didn't want to interrupt them if they are doing something else. Her friends wouldn't be wandering unless they're on a mission. "Natalia, you are all too kind, but Gusion is already helping me. I do not want to trouble the rest of you..." She replied, declining the offer of her friend, Natalia.
"Well, Gusion is a hidden identity in the corrupted government after all..." Natalia lowered her voice, a serious expression written all over her face. What she didn't know that she has made Lesley raise an eyebrow. She entirely had no clue that Gusion was a part of the government. But it would make sense that he managed to know one of the officials who may have kidnapped her brother since he's among them.
Suddenly, out of the blue, the person who the two women were currently talking about appeared. Gusion tidied up his loose shirt that was now looking decent, and his messy hair from before transformed back into its neat state. Honestly, he looked more younger without his coat on. "Bonjour, old friends." He greeted, a gleeful grin on his face.
He casually walked over to them, giving a handshake first to his best partner, Alucard, then a hug to Ruby, and lastly a handshake for Natalia. "I thought you guys wouldn't be able to make it!" He exclaimed, a puzzled look on his face. "Well, we all decided that we should at least say good bye to our friends here before we part ways again." Alucard answered, the corners of his lips lifting up to form a smile.
"After our mission, we'll send you guys a messenger hawk. It'll alarm you two where we'll have another group meeting." Natalia informed, patting Lesley on the back. "We'll have a team party with my papa! Oh, isn't that just lovely?" Ruby gave off a beaming smile, waltzing around the room as she twirled around like a fair maiden, her crimson cloak giving a blazing fire imaginary.
And because of her innocent, childish, and sweet behavior, she is completely oblivious towards the fact that the good atmosphere around her has suddenly crashed into oblivion after mentioning her father.
Ruby's father, Roger Huntsman, is an actual hunter that is talented and feared by many across every land that he has stepped upon on. If they found out that Ruby is the daughter of that devil-like being, they'd be coughing out blood out of shock.
And that is the reason why the atmosphere had vanished in an instant, they don't exactly want to hang out with a terrifying man. Plus, he loves his daughter very much that if something bad happens to her, even if it's a problem as tiny as an ant, he'd show no mercy whatsoever.
"Hahaha!" Gusion falsely laughed, breaking the cold atmosphere that Ruby has unconsciously created. Everyone in the small group laughed along with him, not wanting to leave him looking like a madman. "Yes, that idea sounds wonderful! Now, let's have a small feast, shall we?" He smiled, walking over to the bar counter to ask the bartender to prepare the finest alcohol and wine, and food for him and his friends to enjoy for the night.
The group of five sat on a large table, chatting and laughing with one another. Alucard told scary tales that made Ruby, who sat besides him, squeak out of fear and hug him for protection. Lesley found it rather funny, how those two fell with one another and how Alucard managed to have the guts to have Roger as his father-in-law.
After the horror stories that Alucard has brought, Gusion immediately started to talk about...how wealthy and handsome he is. A total narcissist, that's what Lesley kept thinking while the most rich person in the table continued his bragging about his luxurious life.
When Gusion's stories of countless feasts and gold ended. Natalia grumbled at how terrible his turn was that she sulked on her seat and almost fell asleep. Her words made the rich man create a dramatic acting before she could finally tell fascinating stories about their journey as a small group of three.
They went to Italy, where they saw lovely arts and delicious food; Greece, there they saw lifelike statues and buildings they have never seen before; and lastly, they went to the cold continent of Russia.
Now, they've recently arrived in Paris a week ago. Here, they searched for an unknown assassin that killed a monarch in London. Well, to be honest, they searched for him in Italy, Greece, and Russia as well, and a clue has led them here.
Once Natalia has finished telling the two, Gusion and Lesley, about their journey, their food and drinks arrived before them. Hot steam came out of the cooked turkey, soup, and other hot dishes. Large glasses of beer and wine were placed besides their plates to finish the feast preparation.
The group of five began to eat merrily before drinking alcohol and wine. Well, besides Ruby, who did not like drinking because her father forbids her not to drink.
When everything ended well, Alucard, Ruby, and Natalia bid their goodbye and left the tavern, leaving Gusion and Lesley alone. The scarlet-haired ballerina stretched her body, the popping noises of her joints oddly satisfying to her ears. "You look tired, want to stop by at my mansion? I can tell you who may have kidnapped your brother there." Gusion suggested, standing up to his feet and handing his hand towards Lesley. She gently grabbed it and stood up with a support from her friend. "Let's go then." She replied simply, pulling her hand away from Gusion's grip since he was still holding it after she had stood up.
She did not know why, but he chuckled faintly at her before walking out of the tavern. Lesley followed the man on his way home, the moon still out, luckily lighting the streets for them to see.
Act III | Nightmarishly Sweet Dream
The howl of the cold wind brushed against Lesley's skin, causing her to shiver. This made Gusion frown, wishing that he had not ruined his coat. He could have given it to her as another layer of clothing so she wouldn't have a chance of catching a cold.
Fortunately, a light bulb lit up on his head. He stopped his tracks and turned around to face Lesley, causing her to look at him with a bewildered face. "If I carry you back home, I can tell you about the information quickly." Gusion suggested, a playful smirk on his face. The star ballerina looked at him with a now unamused face. She knew what he was trying to do, using the information as an excuse for an act he wants to commit.
Regardless, Lesley felt like she really didn't have much time. She wanted to see her brother immediately after all. "Fine, but make it fast." She agreed, crossing her arms. Gusion smiled, elated that his friend has agreed with him even if she knew what he was truly planning.
He walked closer to her and immediately lifted her up into the air in his arms, carrying her bridal style as he leaped and dashed forward towards his mansion. Lesley felt like falling off any second, so she instinctively wrapped her arms around Gusion's neck, holding onto him to secure that she won't fall towards the ground.
When the two of them have arrived inside the mansion. Gusion guided the star ballerina through the darkness of his house's shadowed hallways. Only when he reached his grand room, he let go of his friend's hand and opened the two large doors in front of him.
He revealed his master room, the largest bedroom in his mansion. Marble tiles as his bedroom's floor, adding large fur carpets for comfort. There was a king-sized bed that has large pillows on its comfy mattress that has red silk covering it. Multiple, large cabinets and shelves full of books were in place as well as some wooden tables and fancy chairs. And there was even three chandeliers built on the ceiling, sparkling in all of its glory as it hang peacefully. A fireplace was built besides a lone, large chair to create warmth for the master of the room. Lastly, large windows were on the left side of the room, allowing the moon's light to pass through and illuminate the bedroom.
But it's not the luxury bedroom that caught Lesley's interest, but a grand piano that stood at the center of the room. It reminded the star ballerina of her brother's kidnapper, and so she looked away from it due to feeling disgust and rage.
Gusion saw her sudden behavior, wanting to cheer her up and make her forget about her brother being kidnapped for a moment. So, he decided to walk over to the grand piano and sat on the piano bench that was besides the piano. When he made his first attempt in playing, he played rather decent until he suddenly missed some notes here and there, completely ruining the song that he was playing.
The star ballerina looked at the man trying to play the piano, his mistakes in missing or pressing the wrong note causing a small head ache to form in her head.
Gusion awkwardly laughed at himself, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. "My master will be disappointed if he finds out I'm playing the piano wrong," He joked to himself, before deciding to play another song. "Let me play another song for you, since you don't look like you're feeling well right now." He stated, beginning to play in C# minor.
The music that he was playing was slow and peaceful, causing Lesley's headache to fade A away bit by bit. In fact, the music that Gusion was playing sounded familiar.
She walked over to her friend, leaning against the grand piano as he continued to play. It was smoothing and enchanting, but it also sounded deep with a bit of sorrow.
"I am certain that you've heard of Moonlight Sonata, it is famous and made by Beethoven after all," Gusion smiled, his hand gracefully gliding along the piano as he played. When he closed his eyes shut, it made Lesley baffled as to how he can play with eyes closed. Since when can he play the piano like that?
"What a very beautiful piece, it sounds magnificent with a mix of melancholy," Lesley smiled faintly, continuing to listen. "So, did you hire a pianist to teach you how to play the piano so you'll have something to do?" She questioned, beginning to close her eyes in order to focus well towards the harmonic music. "You can say that. In fact, the pianist that taught me is the man you've been searching for." Gusion answered, his words knocking Lesley to her wits. She was honestly outraged.
"You're associated with him?! You must know where my brother is!" She exclaimed, glaring bitterly at the man before her who continued to play the sonata, a smirk painted on his lips.
"I'm no longer associated with him, he only helped me in becoming successful before hiding among the shadows. But he is most likely with the noble families," He informed again, his voice oddly relaxed and unwavering. "If I have known where your brother is, I could have told you right now. Why would I lie to a beloved friend?" He smiled, opening his eyes to look at Lesley.
The scarlet-haired ballerina gently bit her lips, pinching the bridge of her nose before sighing. She allowed herself to exhale and inhale for a moment, calming her rage down. He had a point, he wasn't the kind of person to lie to his allies after all.
"I'm...I'm sorry, I let my anger take over and became anxious." Lesley apologized sincerely. "It's all right, we all have those moments," Gusion kept his smile, causing his friend to feel relieved that he didn't have any ill feelings towards her behavior earlier. "Did you know, Moonlight Sonata is dedicated to a maiden Beethoven was infatuated with? Such a beautiful gift being given to that woman, what a luck I must say," He stated before ending the first movement of Moonlight Sonata.
Gusion stood up and walked over to Lesley, leaning on the grand piano besides her. "Although, it's such a shame..." He frowned slightly, looking at the grand piano's strings. Lesley shifted her head to look at him, slightly confused as to why it was such a shame. "Why is that? He dedicated it to a person he loves." She questioned. "Yes, he did. But he was unable to marry her." Gusion answered, letting out a sigh before smiling at his friend besides him.
"Enough sad talks, would you like to have a dance with me?" He asked, handing his hand towards hers. Lesley smiled faintly, taking his hand and then quickly got pulled by him under the moonlight.
The two danced with grace, their steps harmonizing with one another. Gusion swayed and twirled the scarlet-haired woman, even doing a dip with her. Lesley in the other hand, enjoyed the dance that they were creating. Not a single mistake was made, every step was smooth and done right.
"To be honest, I have never met a woman like you, Lesley." Gusion spoke as continued to twirl and dance with Lesley. "My, my, I have heard that a million times. How original." She smiled faintly, a cunning and sarcastic look on her facial expression.
"All the women that has tried to seduce me only desires my gold. It disgusts me whenever I see them with their thick makeup and revealing clothes on..." His calm and gentle demeanor was completely gone, replaced by disgust and a pair of orbs full of murderous intent. "You're so unique, Lesley. Can't you see that? I've never met an enchanting woman such as yourself." With a flick of a finger, the disgust emotion on his face was thrown into the oblivion, but his murderous intent eyes stayed. Only a handsome smile painted on his face.
At this moment, Lesley felt disturbed and startled by Gusion's moods changing fast one after the other. He felt off and not like himself from earlier.
"Lesley, oh, Lesley, I'm sorry for lying to you..." Gusion's charming smile turned deranged. He looked insane that it frightened Lesley into pulling herself away from his grip and take a few steps back. "You...have you gone mad?!" She exclaimed, her heart racing quickly as the man before her took silent steps closer towards her, closing their distance each second.
Lesley didn't want to hurt him. She wasn't even sure if he's just drunk after drinking too much or he's simply loose in the head. But she had to at least knock him out or forcefully make him stay away.
Gusion let out a loud laugh, his deranged smile still on his face that was becoming a nightmare sight for the star ballerina. "Whenever I see those men watching you while you're gracefully soaring in the stage, they have this disgusting and hideous expression on their faces! Some were even planning on kidnapping you..." He angrily said through clenched teeth, clenching both of his hands into a tight fist. "You know what I did to them? I killed those shits! I made sure to torture them before crushing their faces until their bones pops out, hahaha!" He let out another loud laugh of from his lips, making Lesley's legs tremble. "See, I'm a great man aren't I? If it weren't for me watching over you, you would have been kidnapped by those leeches!" He raised his voice, throwing a small table that was near to him.
Lesley decided to paralyze her now insane friend by using her needles. But when she tried to pull out a couple of needles out of her hidden pocket, there weren't any. This new fact caused her to silently scream inside, she is defenseless.
Seeing the swan's face drain all its color until its pale, made Gusion snicker and giggle madly. "Oh, sweetheart..." He pulled out needles from his pants' pockets, dropping them on the ground and then crushing them by using his shoes. "I grabbed your weapons while we were dancing, just in case you wanted to take a bite of me." He grinned, walking closer and closer towards the female in front of his view.
Once close, Lesley decided to swung one of her legs towards Gusion to land a hit. But he immediately grabbed it and flipped her over. When the star ballerina crashed into the marble floors, a scream was let out of her red lips, her back now aching painfully.
Gusion shook his head, giggling madly once more. "Ah, Lesley, you know I'm in a much more advantage when it comes to combat." He raised one of his foot and placed it on top of the maiden's chest. He watched as she struggled, wanting to be free from this miserable state. But he only chuckled, finding her amusing.
"You know, I was the one who kidnapped your brother and killed him..." He stated, throwing out oil into Lesley's inner flames of hatred. But her face was full of confusion, shock, and grief. She couldn't handle the information in this bad time. "N-No..He can't be dead! You're lying..!" Lesley angrily yelled at the man who kept her still on the floor.
Gusion's grin turned into a smile, but he still had that insane look. "He was getting in my way and you were always prioritizing him first! That little pain in the ass needed to die if it meant getting closer to you!" He answered with a roaring voice that sent fear down to Lesley's back.
"Of course I would put him first, you bastard! He's my family!" She angrily spoke back even with fear in her heart and body. Gusion just laughed at her, pulling out what seems to be syringe with a liquid inside. "Hush, hush, sweetheart...Since he's gone now, you'll be putting me first. And I've already led you perfectly into my little cage.." He said, pulling his foot away from her chest to crouch down.
Gusion quickly inserted his syringe into Lesley's neck, causing her vision to slowly grow blurry and her heart beat relax. He caused her a sensation of sleepiness before gently kissing her crimson lips, savoring her sweet flavor. But eventually he pulled himself away to break the kiss to lean closely into her ear to whisper. "Have a nightmarishly sweet dream, my love. Once you wake up, I'll write a music about you called Sonata's Swan..."
