Overcoming The Final Day Part 2
“Look Sheldon, isn’t it beautiful?” It was a butterfly that she had caught. It had a beautiful purple radiant color with shades of blue. It was uncommon for the area it flew from her hands and landed on Sheldon’s shoulder.
She smiled at him, “they are beautiful things in life to Sheldon.”
A voice erupted from the door. “Kiran you spoil that boy too much.”
It was him his father followed by Alfred.
“Sheldon, you must always be a leader, you must strive for due care and diligence.”
“Don’t worry Sheldon, I won’t let him bug you, you need a rest at least for this day.” She said as she got up.
Come with me Angus, she said as she took his arm and began to shuffle him out the room.
“Sheldon.” A voice called strange yet familiar, he turned to see the butterfly floating before his eyes.
The room had frozen and his parents, remained stuck in the same position not moving his mother’s foot hang in the air. The air in the room was moist, the cracks appeared taking over the wall. The sunlight was gone in its place was a gray ray of light.
Sheldon his name was called yet again.
“Mother, father, Alfred, stop joking around, Please move.” He reached his hand out towards them but they remained still.
"We don’t have much time Sheldon, It’s coming for you."
“What’s coming?”
The World fractured broken, separated in to many pieces like glass shards lobbing everywhere, He watched himself be torn apart unable to move.
So Fragile you humans yet you do amuse me.
He heard it laughing, a wretched horrid yet melodious laugh. Am I dead? Has his body shattered to the floor.
“Sheldon!”
Sheldon took gasping breaths, one after a next what happened cross his mind as his body fell to the ground still under shock. He tried to take in his surroundings, It was dark… he was at the dinner table…
“Sheldon,” his mother held him up, “are you okay?”
“Mother?” He hugged her tightly in his arms. “your fine. Please don’t leave me.
“What are you saying Sheldon? I am not going anywhere.”
Albert handed Sheldon a glass of water from off the table, he had returned calm now, catching the fluttering of a butterfly similar to the one he had a dream.
Yes it was all a dream, it couldn’t be real.
“Mother?”
“Yes, Sheldon.”
“Could you sing that song for me, the one you always sing to calm my mind as a child.”
“What sound would that be?”
“huh, mother you know that sound, the sound to Zanatro?”
His mother twitched, at the sound of the name it was so sudden it caught Sheldon off guard that the distance sound of a fork falling on a plate did not catch his attention.
“Sheldon,” she said “ We only worship Malrano here.”
“What!” Sheldon responded he turned to the table looking at who sat there and beside his father was her.
A woman sat in a robe her body exposed. Blonde hair slender body, she was beautiful yet he sensed she was cunning his instincts told him to run. He felt like he knew her but where did he meet her before.
"Come and sit by the table, his mother grabbed his hands the night is young and they are sacrifices to soon be offered."
He was back at his seat his mother sat close and strangely Albert stood behind him cracks started to appear upon the wall. It made him feel extremely uncomfortable, no one was eating nor were there talking. Just looking at him, waiting for him.
“Eat, Sheldon.”
Nothing made sense, his parents never would have support this madness. He must still be dreaming, that’s it. This isn’t real I just need to wake up and I will be in my room again.
“Sheldon,” a voice called his name.
He looked around searching for it, and it caught his eyes it was the butterfly.
“Go outside,” it said as it flickered away.
“Eat, Sheldon.”
He looked at his plate it looked normal, but he didn’t trust it too many weird things were going on. He got up from his seat, “excuse me for a bit.”
“Where are you going?” the woman asked with a smile on her face, Alfred came closer to him.
“To get some air,”
“That’s what you call it or were you going to abandon your family again.”
Sheldon rushed for the door merely slipping Alberts reached he cracked the door. Before he heard a loud explosion of a gun, the bullet roaring like a lion as it was released from its chamber. He turned his head back to find the entire scene had change, His father laid on the ground covered in blood it ran like a river as if drowning the white fabric that had laid around the dining table. A man above him smiled. His father’s last words were Potato family.
