A Trial by Torture Part 3

He nodded to Cassandra, "Okay," he said, "Then I will tell you from the beginning if that is okay."

"That is fine," Cassandra said, as a smile came over her face.

"Are we safe to be meeting like this?" he asked her, as she sat in the car.

"It is fine, I believe she already knows that I have connections to the gang.

"How far and to what extent?" The man asked.

"I know she has not asked this, however, I can't predict how she may act now based on circumstances of what has recently happened.".

She pulled out a cigarette, "We have your favorite pet, should I say as the relation was never made clear to me, Ralph was the name," she said, as she searched her bag for a light.

"I was wondering why I hadn't seen him and with what happened, I understand why. The man that you describe sister is a man that is close to me, why is he being tortured like that? I would like for him to be released as soon as possible."

"He may be close to your brother but he is now in our care and I can't do anything that would make me look suspicious especially now after what has already happened. His safety should be fine for now until he talks even then I don't know what would be in store for him."

"Well then I won't allow him to die, especially when I know that I can do something about it. Keep me updated on what's happening I will see what I can do to help him and I will need your cooperation as well."

"You would risk everything for this man, he is just one pawn in this game you can't get carried away and do as you please. Some sacrifices are necessary to win."

"Thank you for your understanding," he said, as he adjusted himself in the seat.

"Tell me before you go, what makes this man so special that you would have me risk my neck? Help me understand, otherwise I won't help you."

He turned around and looked at her long. "It's because long ago that man saved my child and got him out of the city before it became impossible for most people to. He didn't know me at the time and still I never mentioned the fact but when I found out what he did and the lengths he went through, just for a child he didn't know, I was moved by it and I tried my very best to return that gesture for him at every turn. It would just seem like I failed him; for me to see the man that could give me hope for my child die, it would not sit well with me. At the least persuade your leader to let him go, he is just a normal man not affiliated with any gang, more people would miss him gone since all the gangs used him for clothes and is one of the neutral zones where anyone could go. His strange disappearance along with the incident happening in the area would create an even stronger rift." He said.

"That's why you act that way," she said, "I will see what can be done but I am not making you any promises as I can't guarantee anything." She got up from inside the car and turned back to him, "But I will try brother."

The streets were clear as Elizabeth got out of the car and headed back to the school. She always took the necessary precautions to avoid her being detected whenever she left the school compound. She had allowed her followers to go in separate directions to elude anyone that may be ensuring pursuing her, still, she always felt uneasy. She easily walked into the school. Sometimes she felt a little pity for them but even so, she reminded herself that these people were mere stepping stones and they would do the same to her if the positions were changed. People walked to and fro more busy in themselves and their own hunger than to worry about looking at her.

Henry was a fool she thought, the way he died was probably one of the most horrifying ways she had ever seen. She had the members hold down both his arms and legs and at one point Henry seemed like he was going along with it.

Mizuki asked him despite what was going on if he wanted to talk but he didn't say anything. He had made up his mind to die, if only he thought she would be at the least anyway lenient. She got one of the servants to bring out a rat and a metal bucket, placing the rat on top of his stomach with the bucket covering it and then when the heat began. Henry started to understand what was about to happen as he had been fidgeting to getaway.

Seeing Mizuki cry like that was unusual.

His screams of the rat digging through him to escape give the worst chills, even by their standards but she saw it as a direct warning to all the other members.

Mathinda just sat there drinking wine and watching it all.

The worst moment came when it was all over and the bucket was no longer hot and they removed it; by that time Henry had already stopped screaming. He had begged and begged and begged, completely different from his outward appearance before but she still never pegged him to be a rather tough guy.

What the rat had done would make someone who was accustomed to blood and violence puke.

She didn't ever want to know that experience, she shuddered at the thought as she pulled out a cigarette from the Blackrell box and that's why she had to be extra careful as she walked into her controlled section of the school.
