Chapter 3- My Heart Will Keep Crying
This story is not a one shot! Its about 6 parts but may exceed. 'May'
Things will get better soon
Rakshit-
Standing outside her hospital room in a doctor's disguise, I looked at Vinay and Doctor Vikrant, who agreed to help me get into Drishti's ward. Vinay was against coming here today but I was so adamant on visiting her the same day that Vinay had to give in.
It would be much difficult meeting them once they got home.
Vikrant- go inside and watch the other patient if Vicky or anyone else comes. I have talked to the patient and he won't say a word. Now go before Drishti wakes up.
I nodded my head and pulled on the mask over my face. Entering the room my eyes landed on the most beautiful figure sleeping in a corner. Beside her in a hospital cradle was a mesmerizing baby girl.
Her baby
Her and someone else's
I shut the door behind me as Vinay told me to be quick or they might not be able to hold Vicky for long enough. My legs felt jiggly while walking to her. With inconsistent heart beat and eyes blurred with tears I went to her bed and sat beside her.
They said my love felt a little weak so she slept. Get well soon Drishti.
I smiled at the innocence briming from her face, still the same as it once was. The smile that parted her delicate lips. The smile that would've died if not for Vicky. I kept my hand on her sleeping one and removed my mask.
'Drishti' I whispered and admired her face peaceful after so long. She was that honey to my soul, that light to my darkness, the only hand which can pull me out of my condition.
You look so beautiful. I wish I was there with you today. It was our baby and you were My Mrs. Shergill and not Mrs. Malhotra.
There was a knock on the door telling me that Vicky was close. Reality was always in my way of meeting her. I never showed my face to her but it wasn't that I never tried. She looked so happy without me that I didn't want her to be upset.
A husband and a father wouldn't leave his wife and new born alone. Yet they managed to send him away for some time, him and his cousin, Kaira. I had to be quick because this was a reality. If they caught me I would be in huge trouble.
Because Vicky's not gonna say - oh Rakshit sorry to come between you. Let me quickly divorce her so that you two can get married and no worries you can take my baby too. Especially when you know she doesn't like you.
I kissed her forehead quickly and caressed her face before running over to the baby girl and kissing her too.
The door opened when I walked to the other patient and hid my face behind the mask.
Six years
It had been six years that I touched her. The hands that yearned to feel her precious skin, the body that longed to feel her prescence near me, the lips that wanted to tell her I love her. All of then suddenly shook with the longing.
My lips quivered after kissing her forehead while my hands burned to feel her touch once again.
Vicky:- How are you feeling Drishti?
Vicky touched her forehead and shook her slightly, breaking her sleep.
Drishti:- sleepy
She yawned and opened her eyes.
Drishti:- that hurt
Vicky:- oh come on! Don't be like this. I want more babies and you're afriad after the first one!
Drishti (slapping his forehead):- thodi to sharam karo. Ab ek bache ke papa ho lekin sudhre nahi.
Vicky (winking):- to vo bhi aise sharmate hue thodi na hui thi.
Drishti blushed at his statement and wrapped her hands around his waist. Keeping her head on his chest she snuggled closer to him and Vicky provided her all the comfort she needed.
Drishti:- we are parents now Vicky. Mujhe yakeen nai ho raha.
Vicky:- same yr Drishti. Abhi to 2 sal ke bad hoti to acha hota. Ab tumhara sara dhyan uspe hi rahega.
Drishti:- 5 salo mein man nai bhara?
Vicky:- are tumse to mera man kabhi na bhare jane-
Drishti suddenly kept her hand on his mouth and glared at him.
Drishti:- hospital Vicky. Behave
Vicky:- behave to kabhi meine papa ke samne nahi kia. Idhar kyu karu?
Drishti:- chipku
Vicky:- sirf tumhare lea
Drishti:- kisi aur se chipakne ki himmat bhi mat krna.
Vicky:- yes boss!
I smiled at them. How happy they looked together unlike me whose heart was shattering at that scene. Even if I was happy she was with someone who cared for her, that void in my heart was still hurting.
Vicky:- I'm sorry Drishti.
He sighed.
Drishti:- what happened Vicky?
Vicky:- you ain't the only girl in my life.
He said. My fist tightened along with the clenching of my jaw seeing the seriousness on his face and the worry on hers. I was about to stand and react to it when the patient beside me held my hand tightly. He was an old man in his late 70s and signed me to stay.
Drishti:- what are you saying Vicky?
Her voice was faint, she was afraid. I couldn't see that. My love wasn't feeling like she deserved to. That bastard cheated on her.
Vicky:- I want you to meet her. I want you to meet Sargun.
Drishti:- I- Vicky?
It felt like she could collapse any minute and the more he stayed silent, the more her face tensed. Vicky sat beside her silently and cupped her face. She didn't even try jerking it away.
Vicky:- Drishti. I never knew I would be saying this to you.
He sighed. Drishti cried in front of him and and begged him to stop talking. My heart was overpowered by my angry mind which would've taken control of my body if not for the oldan holding me.
Drishti(cries holding his shirt):- Who is Sargun Vicky? Who is she? Didn't you say you love me? You love me, right?
Vicky:- I'm sorry.
Drishti:- kaun hai vo kami-
Vicky:- Geez stop Drishti. See- Sargun. Sargun Malhotra, hamari beti!
He laughed while Drishti looked at him as it wasn't funny.
It wasn't funny. Drishti looked at him in anger and started beating him while he just laughed.
Drishti:- I hate you Vicky!
I watched them play gleefully, laugh and then hold their daughter. Sargun was in her mother's arms who was sitting peace against her husband's chest. Vicky had his arms around Drishti and was tapping on their daughter's nose.
Old man:- itna pyar krte ho?
Rakshit:- bht zyada
Old man:- to pas kyu nahi ho?
Rakshit:- use chod dia tha. Jab vapis gaya us din uski shadi thi.
Old man:- uske pas jane se drte ho?
I chuckled at his statement.
I am not afraid to come close to you, someone else is already close to you. Your body belongs to someone else and so does your soul. This is the fate of a true lover.
Rakshit:- kabhi kabhi.
Old man:- vo kabhi tumhari yaad mein aise nahi tadapti?
God forbid this ever happens, that she ever suffer like me I won't return back to you because you won't be returning to me afterall.
I let my soul burn seeing the happily married. The same eyes that would turn away if they saw Vicky romancing with Drishti while stalking them was now witnessing their kid in their arms.
They were always close. I knew it. And now when the baby came, it was much more clear.
Old man:- uske bina nahi reh skte, aisa lagta hai.
Rakshit:- jaise suraj ke bina dhup nahi hoti aur samundar ke bina kinara, vaise hi Drishti ke bina meri zindagi nahi hai. Bs use dekhne ke lea zinda hu. Nahi to kab ka mar jata.
Old man:- khush rehne ki koshish karo beta
Rakshi(smiling):- kash aisa ho pata.
My soul will keep wriggling without you and my heart will keep yelling your name.
