6-Loss

"The most painful goodbyes are the ones that are nevsaid and never explained."
Bilal Nasir Khan

Yurika woke up and, for a moment, it seemed like it was a normal day. Then she remembered what had happened the day before and finally the dreams she had had. Without a shadow of a doubt it was that vampire. For the first time in her whole life she wanted to participate in the mission, at least she would have kept her mind busy. As the other time she was the first to arrive, but she didn't bother much of the people who were standing next to her. It was only when they went up to the van that Shinya ventured to ask her something. "Yurika, is it all right?" The girl mumbled a yes in response. Shinya watched her worried. "What happened yesterday?" She turned to the window. "Nothing." She whispered in an apathetic tone. The brother understood that it wasn't the case to continue. Yurika thanked him mentally. Shinya turned to the others. "Guys, what do you say if we stay together for this time?" "Yes, that sounds like a good idea." Replied Guren, but he didn't do it just for that. He was worried about her sister and would have preferred not to lose her sight. Especially after the meeting of the other time.

Yurika saw the last vampire disappear under the stroke of the sword of Guren. They had finished, all the vampires were dead, but she didn't leave the hilt of the sword. There was something strange in the air. "Guys, I think it would be better to leave as soon as possible." She whispered. "Yurika! Don't be paranoid, don't..." Guren stopped, perceiving something. He watched carefully around him. Even Shinya was on the alert. "Guys, what's going on?" Colonel Mito tried to understand, but she didn't wait long for the answer. From behind a building appeared a vampire dressed in a bizarre manner with the hair gathered in a braid. "Another noble..." Murmured Shinya. He approached them slowly. Everyone was on the lookout, ready to attack. They could survive this too, they were seven against one, there was hope. The vampire drew the sword, watched the humans carefully as if he was looking for someone. Yurika clearly saw the vampire's crimson eyes pointing in her own, succeeding in understanding that he would start with her, but when the vampire went on her, it was hard to keep his head. The others intervened immediately in her help. They were in seven, yet they could keep their heads. "You could help me out." He said at some point the vampire. Yurika shuddered while another voice confirmed her suspicions. "You know, I'd rather not get my hands dirty, but if you insist..." The girl immediately recognized that voice and turned in his direction. "Ferid..." Whispered she seeing him. His crimson eyes lit up. "You remember my name." And he smiled at her. She increased the grip on the sword. "Crowley, keep them busy." The other vampire lifted his eyes to heaven, but he did what he had been told. Yurika looked for a moment in that direction almost forgetting the vampire who was walking away from her. "Don't worry, Yurika. I asked my friend to make sure no one approached us! So they won't disturb us." "What a..." But the words died in her mouth when another question surfaced in her mind. How did he know her name? Her body began to tremble. Ferid approached her. "Why don't you come with me?" He asked her, lending a hand towards her. The girl looked at him confused, but, before she could say anything, they were joined by Shinya and Guren. Ferid sighed. Guren threw himself on him and the vampire drew the sword. Yurika awoke from her trance, hurling herself against the vampire. It seemed that she and Guren were able to keep him at bay, also Shinya intervened launching Byakkomaru. "Come on, we were just talking! Let's see now if you hit me..." Yurika felt his arms wrapped around her body. It was a breathless moment. "Let her go!" Yelled Shinya. "Otherwise what do you do?" Meanwhile, Yurika was trying to get rid of the vampire's grip. "Stay still, we just have to..." "Let me go!" Ferid loosened the grip and she walked away with the sword unlined in his direction. Guren took advantage of it to launch again on him, but shortly after Ferid threw him, the same happened with Shinya. Yurika prepared herself. "Don't do that, I told you that..." But she didn't listen to him and began to attack him. Ferid kept her head easily until the girl heard him sigh. "I'm sorry, but I'm a little rushed..." Yurika didn't understand what was going on. She simply felt something cold and sharp pass somewhere in her lower belly. The pain that sprang from that point made her stagger. She felt the taste of the blood in her mouth. "My dear, if you had been stopped we could have avoided this unfortunate situation." The vampire put a hand behind her back, while with the other he drew the sword from her body. "Excuse me for a moment." He told her when he laid her on the ground. Also Crowley managed to fix the others. "We're done, Ferid? Or should we kill them?" Yurika shuddered to those words. Was it all over? Would they be dead? "No, Crowley, that's okay. We can go." The silvery-haired vampire came back to her. At that instant Yurika realized that she wouldn't come back, he wouldn't have granted this grace. Ferid took her in his arms while the view of the girl began to tarnish. The others saw the vampire take Yurika, but, even before they could realize what would happen the two vampires and the girl were already gone.

There was a long silence broken only by the hissing of the wind. Shinya stared at the point where her sister was gone. How could he have allowed something like this to happen? How could he let them take her away? Guren laid a hand on his shoulder. "Guren... She's... Gone..." The others approached him waiting. "Shinya..." Colonel Mito Jujo took word. "Let's go. There's nothing else to do." Replied Shinya by walking. The others exchanged uncertain looks and followed him. "I drive." Said Guren. Shinya said nothing. For the whole trip no one spoke. After reaching the city again Guren offered to accompany Shinya for the relationship.

"Come in." Said Kureto after hearing a knock. He didn't get surprised to see those two in the sister's place. "She hasn't passed yet?" He asked. He was preoccupied by noticing the silence that followed his question. He laid down the papers he was examining. "Did something happen to her?" His question was again followed by the silence of the two. It was making him alter. Why didn't they decide to talk? Could something so serious happen? The answer was before him, it was enough to look at their faces to understand it. "I'm sorry Kureto..." And the man saw tears on the face of Shinya. He felt the blood freezing in his veins, thinking of the worst. "She's... Dead? " He asked, without being able to conceal the tremor in his voice. "He took her... That vampire." And Shinya shook his fists at the thought of what the girl would be forced to face. What did that vampire want? "Is it the same vampire you met the other time?" Asked Kureto, returning to assume a cold and professional attitude. "Some other loss?" "No." This time it was Guren to talk. "Are you going to do something?" He asked bitterly. Kureto looked at them both with contemptuous air. "Like sacrifice soldiers ' lives to infiltrate and try to free her? I don't think so. If you're done you can go." Shinya remarked his brother, he would have wanted to fight again, say that they shouldn't abandon her, that... But what would it serve? To worsen the situation and as far as it could be difficult they had no alternatives and Kureto was right. He sighed and he and Guren left the room. "Guren, maybe we could have done something, maybe..." Guren stopped looking Shinya in the eyes. "Don't worry, she'll be fine." But he actually fed some serious doubts about it. Yurika was a strong girl, a Hiiragi, maybe she was still alive and would have been, at least until that vampire wanted it.

Kureto had remained a long time in his study to think. How could it have happened? Yurika had always been a great element inside the army, he thought he didn't have to worry about her and instead... Now he didn't even know if she was alive. And it made him feel bad. More than he ever imagined. He also knew that he should face another problem: tell it to the father. He was afraid of how he would react to the news and prepared to face his wrath. Tenri lifted his gaze on his son. "Kureto? It's strange to see you here. What do you need?" Kureto continued to fix the man, trying to find the most appropriate words for the situation. "Father, I must talk to you about Yurika." Tenri lifted an eyebrow, thinking that the son had discovered the content of his conversation with the girl. "The last mission didn't go well." "What does that mean?" Asked the father keeping himself unmoved. "She was kidnapped." The two fixed for a long time. "From a vampire, that noble of which she spoke to us the other time." "Ferid Bathory." Whispered Tenri. "Yes, that." "Well Kureto. Thank you. Now you can go." Kureto stared at him perplexed. Was it all there what he was able to say? His daughter had just been kidnapped and he didn't say anything? "Father..." "Leave Kureto." The sharp gaze and the determined tone made him realize that it would be better if he left. Tenri Hiiragi observed his son as he walked away. He closed his eyes and passed a hand in his hair rethinking about the last time he had seen Yurika. A lonely tear descended along his cheek while he thought that that would be the last memory that the daughter would have had of him. The memory of an insensitive father. He opened a desk drawer taking a picture. He watched the woman smiling beside him. "Not much will be twenty-two years..." He got moody thinking about the death of the woman she loved. He had promised her that he would be there and not only for Yurika, but also for Kureto and Seishirō. Instead, after her death, things had changed drastically and he had failed to give his daughter what she deserved. It was always said that he would try a way to recover, but now it was too late. There would no longer be anything to recover, he would no longer have been able to remedy his mistakes and she would never know how important she really was to him, but especially how much he loved her. And, like twenty-one years earlier, he found himself crying on his mistakes.
